Nautical

Are you all enjoying your summer (almost) weather??
I know I am, the warm temperatures sure can put me in a good mood...
(and I need all the help I can get...lol)

On the hot days I spend time looking at all the new "goodies"
there are to buy...my goodness how do they keep coming up with all
these new ideas??

I did a card for the challenge at "Joan's Touch" this week.....
it was a super quick and fun card....
you can find all the info HERE if you would like to join in....
and also for the challenge at
Stampendous .... Dads and Grads
and for
Darnell's blog...have you ever been there?
My goodness she is such a "hoot"....
I sometimes read her posts to my Mom as they make us both laugh....
go and take a visit there, you won't be disappointed!!

I used one of the wonderful Memory Box stencils "Stars Star Flash"
which I sponged some TH Distress inks on for my background
so very easy...have you tried these?...

My stamp is a (are you sitting down?) 1998 Stampendous ....
really, I have had it that long
and I think this might be the first time I have used it!!!
But I LOVE it...it is going to stay out for another card or 2!!

I added some MS punch anchors and then decided it was done....
drawing the attention to the stamp as the focal point....

Don't forget I have BLOG CANDY going until June 30th....
just read the simple rules at the top of my blog and sign up....
Also Classy Cards 'n Such is having a Design Team Call ....
go HERE for all the details

Boy, I hear you about the new goodies. That's one of the reasons why I, too, would have a never-been-used stamp from 1998. I'm trying to be better, but I'm probably hopeless. I like how you made the image all that much more interesting by layering it up. Been meaning to try this.

Oh, my gushers, this is brilliant, Diane! I love your stenciled and sponged background, your super telescoped image, and those anchor embellies! Just a class act from top to bottom!!

I know I still have some old wooden stamps that I got at garage sales when I first started in 2002 that I've never used. They were old to begin with so the dates go way back! None of the images are this magnificent; they are mostly those odd little stamps you pick up for a few cents. I need to do a purge. After 12 years, I'm not sure I should continue to wait for "that day" and they are taking up precious space!

Thank you for entering your awesome card in my NBUS Challenge, for posting my button, and for all your very kind compliments!! I'm all warm and fuzzy that you sometimes read my posts to your Mom! TFS!! I appreciate it very much!! Enjoy the day!! Hugs, Darnell

Great job on your June submission for our challenge blog! These lighthouses are super faves of ours here, we really miss them and have brought them back several times in summer. Love your layers, they add so much interest! Thanks for playing!
