Take Time

This is my post on the
Dies R Us blog today.

Hello Again!
It's Thursday and my day to show you my card for this week!

I really like the fun shaker cards I have been seeing
and they are so easy and fun to make!

For this card I used the largest die in the
Memory Box Open Studio  Stitched Clouds set to cut the window for the shaker.
I used the negative cut, saving the actual die cut cloud for a later use.

I added a few, fun flower sequins to "shake".

I "perched" an Impression Obsession Bird On A Branch
on the outside of the shaker window.

I stamped a sentiment from Flourish's
with Melon Mambo, then cut it out with

A bow was added to finish!

We have a challenge blog you can join us in HERE
and you could be the lucky winner of the random prize.
The Top 3 are chosen as well!

Rainbows at The Sisterhood of Crafters

Today our new challenge begins at
and our hostess is Sandi Lee.
She has chosen the theme "Rainbows".
To read more about why she chose this theme
head on over to The Sisterhood Blog!

I love, love how this card turned out!
I purposely bought a special die just for this challenge.
Yep, I am crazy like that sometimes!..lol!

The die is Lawn Fawn Rainbow.
I  applied sticky back paper to my card stock
and then cut it out.
By removing one stripe at a time I could then
add each color of glitter.
I started from the bottom up,
however, when I make the next one,  I think I would start with
the boldest colors first, adding the lighter colors last!
Another tip, is I sprayed my rainbow with Krylon clear sealer
to hold my glitter in place.  Hairspray works well, too!

The glitters I used are all from Sparkle N Sprinkle but one.
The blue is called Lapis.

I treated myself to some Gelly Roll Stardust Pens last week
and used it on the image after I had colored it with my Copics.
It is a great way to add some shine and creativeness.

I was told about some card stock being sold at Michael's
and also treated myself to it.  It is from Recollections
and is 110# crisp white card stock.
I have to say it is by far the best card stock base I have used yet...love it!
So dig out your Michael's coupons and try some,
it is a bit pricey at $12.99 for 100 sheets, but the coupons help!

The sentiment I used is from Flourishes, gosh how I miss that company!!

Now head on over to The Sisterhood and see all the beautiful
"rainbow of color" my "sistahs" have created!!

Birthday Bunny

This is my card today at the
for our challenge using the inspiration photo below.
You can use my code DIANE-10 anytime to save 10% on your order.

Hi, Diane here today.

For our challenge this week I chose to make a birthday card.
It seems you can never have too many of those on hand!

I started my card by making a background of bricks
using Impression Obsession Distressed Brick Cover A Card stamp.
I stamped it on brown card stock with white unicorn ink.

I die cut a PoppyStamps Leafy Sprig Border for the top of the card.
However, being as this die runs lengthwise,
I just trimmed off the top right edge to fit!

The flower pot was cut using Memory Box Fancy Potted Flower.
I adhered my card stock to a piece of Scor-Tape 6 x 6 Double Sided Adhesive,
before die cutting, making it easy to adhere to my card.
I cut the die a second time,
and paper pieced the positive pieces for the flower pot.

A small blue bow was added to the pot
and Baby Blue Rhinestones were added to the flowers.

The bunny was cut with a PoppyStamps Chocolate Bunny
with paper from the Faith Collection by Authentique.

The sentiment was stamped on a stitched circle die
using a stamp from

Guest Designing At Crafty Boots

Hi there!

I am excited to say I am the Guest Designer at the
Crafty Boots challenge blog today!
The challenge is Life's A Beach or Summer Holidays.
Well, I am sure you can tell I went with summer holidays!

Years ago when the kiddos were "wee" we would go camping
and what fun it was, well until a tornado went through the park.
That was the end of our camping days!

But I have always loved those retro little campers
Wouldn't it be fun to own one?
I have read in magazines and seen on TV,
where a group of ladies have the cutest little campers
and get together for camp outs...
I would love to do that...

On well, at least I can create my own little camper
with the help of this cute die from My Favorite Things
called Happy Camper.
(I am giving you a link, just in case you have to have one of your own!)
I cut it from metallic paper which gives it a real nice shine!

Do you see the little chipmunk on the stump?
And the "hawk" in the tree?
That little fellow had better watch out
or he will be a meal for either the dog or the hawk......
Don't worry, no animals were harmed in the making of this card..LOL!

I want to thank Crafty Boots for having as a guest designer this month,
I enjoyed creating a card for your challenge!

Gardener's Gift Packet

Hi All, I have a fun little garden gift card/packet to show you.
You all know I am an avid flower gardener (most of the time..lol)
and I thought it would be fun to make a card that held a few seed packets
for a garden friend.

I started with 3 envelopes I found in my drawer and this is how I put them together
flap to the envelope in front of it as shown.
This made 3 little "pockets" to slide the seeds in.

Then I just decorated with my Crafty Secrets products
using:

I added a few die cuts and snippets of things I had on hand.
I finished it by tying it shut with a piece of raffia.

Take a visit to the Crafty Secrets online store
we have an August linky challenge going on right now
let alone the inspiration the DT has to offer!!

I wanted to show you my monster big P-gee Hydrangea bush.
It is loaded with beautiful blooms this year and
in the next few weeks it will change from the white you see now
to a beautiful pink and sage green!

Then while I out in the morning snapping these pictures
I noticed the moon was still out in the west (sun was up in the east)
and got this picture of it...this is the actual picture of blue sky and moon,
pretty awesome if you ask me!!!

Thanks for visiting...make sure to stop back tomorrow
as I am guest designing for Crafty Boots!!

Water Colors

This is my card on the
Don't forget to use my code DIANE-10
to save 10% on your purchases at
Classy Cards 'n Such online store!

Hi there, Diane with you today.

I recently purchased a few of the Ken Oliver Color Bursts
and decided to water color with them.

I stamped my JustRite stamp with Versamark
and then embossed with
Sparkle N Sprinkle Black Fine Detail embossing powder,
but first using the  Anti Static embossing buddy
on water color paper to help keep the EB powder from sticking
to places I didn't want it to.
I lightly heat set my EB powder.

The stamp I used is JustRite Black Eyed Susan
which is not in stock, however,
and this technique would work just fine with them.

I cut the image out using the largest die from the

Next I used the Spritzer Bottle to spray a bit of water on my craft mat.
I also, put a tiny bit (very tiny) bit of
Ken Oliver Color Burst Orange and
Ken Oliver Color Burst Lemon Yellow on the mat as well.

I used the Tim Holtz Water Brush with the Detail Nib
to pick up a bit of water and apply it to the petals of the flowers.

I next picked up the yellow color with the tip of the brush and
let it flow into the petals wherever it wanted to go.
I added a bit more water around the middle section of the flowers
and then picked up a bit of the orange color from the mat
and let it also run on the petals.

I love how it just mixed on it's own!

Once it was completely dry, I finished my card.
I added PoppyStamps Cottage Corner tucked behind the image
(this is a die that cuts the flowers on the corners and embosses the rest).
A few Le Creme pearls were placed on the flowers.
Butterflies were added using Joy! Crafts Butterfly Trio.
A sentiment was stamped from the
