Fall Is In The Air

This is my post on the

Hi there!
I feel so lucky to live in a place that has the four seasons.
(Remind me I said that in the middle of zero temps and snow waist deep..lol).
But really, the changing into fall is so gorgeous....
all the beautiful mixed colors of trees/leaves, fall flowers, pumpkins.
It's a wonderful time of the year!

That brings me to the card I created today.
A fun fall card.
The birds are enjoying their last bath of the year....
making a splash with a few "dew drops" I added!
The squirrels are gathering their nuts.
A red squirrel sits by and takes it all in!
The leaves are slowly coming off the trees.
A peaceful and tranquil scene that goes as fast as it arrives!

The dies used for this scene are:
Cheery Lynn Designs Birch Tree with Cute Critters
Cheery Lynn Designs Bird Bath Set of 2
Impression Obsession Small Leaf Set

You're Sweet

This is my post on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog today
for our latest challenge "An Apple A Day"
using the inspiration photo below.

Hi, Diane with you today.

Our challenge this week is An Apple A Day.
My first thought was a get well card,
but somehow it ended up a You're Sweet card.

I used a white card stock for the base of my card
and another piece of white card stock that was embossed
with Crafts Too! Dots embossing folder.

Four circles were cut from Pearlized Esse White Metallic
using Spellbinders Heart Circles.

Apples were cut using PoppyStamps An Apple A Day die.
The paper used for the apples were

The little hearts were cut from Stardream Jupiter Metallic paper.
The die used for the tiny hearts is Memory Box Beloved Hearts.
I simply cut them off the die....
I love it when dies can serve multi purposes!

Before I leave, I wanted to mention
that you should take a peek at all the metallic papers
in store, they are gorgeous, reasonable, and high quality.
I save every single scrap as they are perfect
to cut small hearts, stars etc.

Mason Jar Fun

Hi there!  It is time once again for a new challenge at the
Our challenge is "Hot Colors" and using the inspiration photo below.

I am not sure sure my choice of colors are "hot",
but maybe a bit more "bright"...lol!
I started with SU Pink Passion card stock as my base.

I embossed a Mason Jar by Darice  on a 110# heavyweight card stock.
I think using the heavier weight really made the embossing stand out.

The flowers are PoppyStamp Flower Stack.
What I love about this die, is it cuts the outline of the flowers,
then you can also cut a separate back piece if you want.
I added a gem/bauble to the center of each flower.

The sentiment was created using a bright embossing powder,
A bow was added with a tied on button.
I know in the photo the button looks red,
it's not, it is a hot pink...
oh wait I guess I did use "hot" colors after all..LOL!

Head on over to the Dies R Us challenge blog and
take a peek at what my DT friends have created to inspire you
to join in with us.....
We also have a Dies R Us inspiration blog with daily posts...
a great place to see the dies in use!

Summer Blooms

This is my card on the
You are welcome to use my discount code DIANE-10
anytime to save 10% on your order.

Hi, Diane with you today.
It seems summer has almost slipped by.
I am seeing lots of beautiful fall projects
but I am resisting as I am not quite ready to let go of summer!

The card I am showing you today has been made
with a few new dies I recently purchased.

I started with a background paper from
Kaisercraft Key To My Heart 12 x 12 paper pad.

I used Spellbinders Elegant Ovals for the placement of the flowers.
The flowers and the white branches/stems you see are both from
Sue Wilson Finishing Touches Cornflower.
(If you ever see an item used and not a link, just send Beverly an email
and she can most likely order it for you)!!
The flowers were put together using the Paper Blossom Tool Kit ,
Black Pearls were used for the flower centers.

I tucked in a few greens using Spellbinders Romantic Vines.
This is a beautiful new vine set!

The sentiment is from JustRite Hello Daisy stamp set
and was stamped on a die cut from the same
Elegant Ovals set I mentioned above.

Happy Halloween

Happy Thursday to you!

The way the months are flying by it will be Halloween before we know it!
I love to make Halloween cards!

Though I haven't used any here,
there are a ton of Halloween dies in the Dies R Us store.
Try typing different Halloween words in the search box
and be amazed at what comes up!

I started my card with a base of Halloween scrap papers,

cut in strips and adhered down on card stock.

Using black embossing powder, vellum, Copics, and

a never before used
Prickley Pear Midnight Choir stamp,
I created the focal point for my card.

The sentiment is framed in black with Shaker Square Frames by Memory Box.
The orange background was created with Stitched Square Layers
also by Memory Box.
These two dies are made for each other and work extremely well together!

I have to say I have a slight addiction to the stitched dies
and have been getting quite a nice collection of them!
They cut perfect every time...love that!
There again if you type "stitched" in the search box,
you will see all  kinds of things come up....and remember
to check often as there are always new ones added!

A bow, a tag and a few gems were added to finish!

Make sure to visit us here Monday - Friday for all the DT inspiration.
It is a wonderful place to see the latest dies in use!

Pop on over to our Dies R Us challenge blog as well.
Not only is there also lots of inspiration there,
but if you join in, you could be the lucky winner

Warmest Greetings

It's time for a new challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters.
Our hostess for this challenge is our "sistah" Lisa.
She has chosen a beautiful color inspiration photo for us.

For my card I dug out a very old SU stamp from the set Lexicon of Leaves.
Also, being I just received a brand new set of Earthtone Color Bursts from
Classy Cards 'n Such, I decided to combine the two!

I did two cards, same supplies, two different techniques.
The colors used on both cards are
(if you are interested in any of these I have provided the links for both the set
and the individual bottles...AND if you use the code DIANE-10 at checkout
you can get 10% off)

The first card I am showing you is my favorite.
I used TH Distress Watercolor card stock.
For this card I used the back side or plain side of the paper.
First I "puffed" on my colors, then spritzed with water.
Once I had the look I wanted, I used my heat gun to dry it.
My next idea was to stamp the design with Staz On ink,
but to my dismay, my ink pad was all dry.
I used regular Tuxedo Black ink, and wished I had used
embossing powder instead, I think the design would of shown up better.
Live and learn!

I was excited to use the designer paper for the background as
it is an older Prima The First Blush from 2008...
yikes, that means I have had this paper for 7 years
and never had even opened the pad.
Goes to show you I have too much!

The sentiment is from Flourishes Autumn Blossoms,
stamped in SU Concord Crush.

The next card I did, I used the rough side of the watercolor paper.
spritzed it first, then "puffed" on the color bursts,
exactly opposite from the first card.
The background paper on this one is
from doodlebug design and called
"Happy Harvest".
The sentiment is Hero Arts Birthday Mess,
stamped in SU Old Olive.

I found it interesting that I used the same supplies for a totally different look!

Now head on over to "The Sisterhood of Crafters"
and take a peek of what the other
"Sistahs" have to inspire you!
