Some'bunny' Loves You

Hi there!
It is snowing like crazy here and bitter cold!
I am so glad I get to stay inside and keep warm
in my creative room!
If I can't have Spring in the real form,
I certainly can create it in a card form.

This week on the 21st at The Cutting Cafe blog,
all the Design Team comes together
with their creations all in one place.
We are all making Bendi cards using
You will want to make a note to visit there on the 21st
as you will see all kinds of Bendi card inspiration!

I cut mine on my Cricut Explore...so easy!
I actually cut it twice as my 12 x 12 papers
weren't as 'sturdy' as I had wanted.
This card is intended for my granddaughters birthday
next month and I wanted it to be able
to be displayed in her room.
She will be 10!
Here is the little sweetie with one of her
latest sewing projects.

The entire card was cut in blue card stock,
then I cut the 'hills' from a designer paper.
I added clouds I had left from a previous project,
a Cheery Lynn Designs
tree (Tree With Critters) with Spring flowers, hearts,
(background heart is Cheery Lynn Designs Heart to Heart) bunnies and a
pretty pink bow using Really Reasonable Ribbon.
(I belong to their ribbon club and this is from their
newest 'Sweetheart' collection..so pretty!)

Now mark your calendar for the 21st and be sure
to visit The Cutting Cafe blog to see all
the fun inspiration there...and leave a comment
for a chance to win 3 cut files of your choice!

Have Faith

This is my post on the
Sparkle N Sprinkle blog today!

Hi, Diane with you today!
I have a beautiful card to share with you today
using one of the newly released sets this month
called "Poppies".

I love poppies and grow several species and colors in
my own gardens and absolutely LOVE this new set!

Using Versamark ink, I stamped my image on vellum,
then embossed it with Black Detail embossing powder.
Once embossed, I used an oval lace die
and die cut it out.

I flipped it over to the back side and using Copic Sketch
markers, preceded to color it in.
I love the soft and airy look it gives the poppy.

The panel was then adhered to a white embossed card stock,
then adhered to a designer paper.

I ran 1/4" Tear-ific Tape around the edge
then sprinkled Black Suede Glitter on.
I used my fingers to help fuse the glitter to the tape.
I love how it gives it a nice frame
and love, love the Black Suede Glitter,
it is so soft, but yet adds lots of  'sparkle'!

The only thing I wish I had done first was to run a black
Copic around the white card stock edge....
well I will know to do that the next time!

Next, I stamped one of the many sentiments from this set,
used a round stitched die to cut it out and embellished it
with a few Want 2 Scrap pearls.

Last was the butterfly, made with a die cut,
then added Brushable Glue all over it
and sprinkled Cyclamen Glitter on.

A little tied ribbon was added to finish.

Thank you for visiting with me today!!

Random Thoughts On A Saturday

Hi all!

Just wanted to pop in with a few things.

First wanted to mention that in a previous post I
said I had stepped down from a few DT's.
The Shabby Tea Room being one and after my notice
Debbie decided to close it down.
She is so busy with her Paper Sweeties business
and felt it was the right decision for her, so I hope you take a visit
to her site and support her business,
she has lots of adorable dies~stamps~accessories!
We will all miss The Shabby Tea Room.

I also, back in November resigned from Classy Cards 'n Such
but agreed to stay on through February with one card per week.
Then as you all know Crafty Secrets also closed their doors.
Which has lead to 14 less projects for me to make per month.
Think about it, that is 2 whole weeks of daily cards!
Wow, I didn't even realize I was doing that much!

I am very, very comfortable where I am on the teams I am on now
and actually have ALL my January commitments done for the month...
a first for me.
You know when starting out it is always a card makers dream
to be on a DT.
It is wonderful, all the perks, the people you 'meet' and get to design with.
However, it is work, LOTS of work and you have to be very dedicated
to create quality work and be on time with your work,
you have to be 100% totally committed!

So that brings me to a few other things.
First, I feel I had to give some up for a reason.
I missed my entire summer
by having to be in this craft room 24/7 to make deadlines
(I am a very slow creator),
I needed to spend more time with my family,
not only my husband, but my Mother whom is 88.
Last night I spent the evening in the ER with her, my sister and my brother.
She  was diagnosed with breast cancer in both breasts.
It was probably one of the most scarey things I have ever seen.
You see, she had tumors in her breasts for years and never let any of us know
and probably wouldn't of until this day, until one of them literally burst open
last night.
What can I say, I am devastated and am now glad I can devote more time to her.
I won't go into all the details, but I am glad I can be there for her.

I also hope by stepping down some it will allow me more
time to pick a challenge, create and join in..have fun, use some of my NBUS
that seems to be falling out of every nook and cranny!

Well, thanks for letting me get this all off my chest.....
I hope to come back with a fun card for a fun challenge!
Have a great Saturday everyone!

It's Fashion Time at Fussy and Fancy

Hello All!

It's "Fashion Time" at Fussy and Fancy.
That is the theme picked by Tone for
our new challenge!

Our sponsor is Sweet Lilac Flowers.

I have to admit when I first read the theme
I was wondering what to create,
but then the ideas just kept popping in.
My first thought was a hat...now that would of been fun,
then I have some 'funky' paper with shoes on it...
but in the end I settled on this image from G45.

I just love how it shows the front and back of the image...
a real 'fashion' statement!

I had so much fun putting this together with all kinds of
'snippets' of goodies from my stash.
I used all kinds of things,
lace at the bottom edge, vintage sequin trim,
feathers, tulle with pearls,
Roses and an ooh la la banner!

Oh, and there is an easel on the back
to make it stand.
I used a TH Sizzix die for that.

I also have to admit I took forever finding
'just the right' paper for my project,
and then to almost completely covering it up
when done....isn't that the way...lol!!

I think this is a super fun challenge and
can't wait to see the entries!
So, why don't you head on over to the
Fussy and Fancy blog and have some fun with us
and make YOUR 'Fashion" statement!!

Just A Little 'Note"

Hello All!!
Time for a new challenge at the Dies R Us challenge blog.
The theme is "Stitching Real or Faux'!

I just love what the other girls created and almost joined in
with a 'doggie' theme myself,
but just so happens the day I was creating my card
a new order arrived from Dies R Us
and I couldn't resist jumping in with one of my new dies!

This die is a first for me from this company
Precious Marieke and the die is Musical Frame.
This die cuts like a dream and is so detailed,
has a VERY reasonable price and is about 6 x 6 in size.

I cut it from black card stock,
then used Memory Box Open Studio Stitched Squares
to cut 3 stitched panels from white, black and red card stock
using the 3 biggest dies of the six.

I added a glittered music note using Sparkle N Sprinkle Gypsy Red glitter
and a few red sequins.
The sentiment is a very old one from a set that has no name on it,
I just thought the 'play' on the word 'note' was perfect...
sorry I am 'goofy' like that...LOL!

So now you need to head on over to the Dies R Us challenge blog and see what
my teammates have created...
and why not join in with us
after all, YOU could win a gift certificate to the store !!

Don't forget to stop on over at the
Dies R Us inspiration blog as well
for more beautiful daily inspiration.

Love Bunnies

This is my post at the
Dies R Us blog today.

Hi there!  Here we are just a month away from Valentines Day
and time to think of getting all those Valentines made
for your loved ones.

One of the big trends in 2015 was shaker cards
and you know what, I truly believe they are here to stay!
I love shaker cards, do you?
They are super easy to make with all the fabulous dies
available to us!

I started with two 4" panels cut from Pearlized Esse white card stock.
This card stock has a nice texture and sheen, so pretty!

From one of the panels, I used
Cheery Lynn Designs Heart To Heart Doily set
to cut a negative.
(I can use the heart die cut on another card later).

I ran strips of foam tape around the entire heart after
I had adhered a clear card stock over the heart.
(A little hint is to remove the tape covering the foam
first, this way it is easier to manipulate)

Behind the heart opening I added
Impression Obsession Heart Stems
cut from a Red Metallic Mirror paper.

Two little 'love bunnies' were added using
Impression Obsession Mini Bunnies.

Before adhering the heart down, I sprinkled a few
red sequins to the back panel in the heart area.
Then I carefully lined up both panels,
and the shaker part was done!

The word "love' was added to the front panel
using Cheery Lynn Designs  Love.

I wanted to keep this card as CAS as I could
and had debated adding a bow...I decided I liked it as is!

Make sure to visit here Monday-Friday for daily inspiration
and to see lots of the dies in use.

The Love Of An Old Dog

We are back and in full swing at The Sisterhood of Crafters
with our first challenge for the year 2016!

This time around Lisa is our hostess and she has chosen the theme
'Something OLD, Something NEW'
She wants us/you to dig around in your stash and use something
you have had for awhile and then something new that you just
purchased or maybe received as a gift.

Well, certainly the something old in this girlies craft room is everywhere...
including ME and the DOG...LOL!
But what is really old on my card is the ribbon.
It is Stampin' up Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon that I had
marked on it, that it was retired in June 2010..wow!

Now that brings us to the 'new'.
The old dog stamp I received from my hubby for Christmas this year.
I LOVE it as it looks just like my Nellie dog.
But of course,
Nellie would not be caught in a hat like that...lol!!

I stamped it in Versamark and used my favorite Sparkle N Sprinkle
Coffee embossing powder, then just touched it a bit with my Copics.
I don't have very many brown shades of Copics yet,
so the shading is not the best.

The button tied on the ribbon is wood...
looks a bit retro....
it came from Hobby Lobby.

It's a simple card...but I like it!!

Now head on over to The Sisterhood and have some fun yourself
by joining in with us!!  See you there!!
