Butterfly House

This is my post at the Tutti Designs blog today.

I have a fun card to share with you today
that I am calling 'Butterfly House'.

The beautiful and dainty die I am using today

I started first by cutting a house shape from a yellow card stock.
(TIP:  Search on Pinterest or Google 'house card shape)

I cut a second more detailed house to put on top.
Then adhered on to the other.

Next, I cut 4 of the butterfly scrolls to
add to the sides of the card.

Three more were cut to use for the butterflies.
(Save the remainder of the cuts for a later use to tuck in on another project)

I simply snipped the butterflies off.

Here is a closer look of the finished butterfly scrolls.
I added a red heart brad for the door handle to the house
and little red pearls to the flower centers.

Hammer On

It's all about being manly at the
Darlene has put together this super cool and
'guy' sort of tile board for us to get inspired with!

Well, as you have heard me mention a million times before
I STRUGGLE with man cards.....
but I have been getting better at them I think....
and this card is no exception!

But heck, how can you go wrong when you have a super cute
cut file from The Cutting Cafe to use??
This cute hammer shaped card is from the
It has 2 styles each of a hammer, wrench and saw!

I let my Cricut Explore do most of the work.
OMGoodness, how I love that machine,
except it is a whole lot smarter then I am...LOL!

So, anywho, I cut the hammer base from kraft card stock.
The top layer was cut from a silver metallic card stock
and the bottom from a wood grain paper I have had forever!
I inked the edges of the hammer with
TH distress ink 'gathered twigs'.

The sentiment, well it is one of many from the same cut file set!
I added 3 little silver brads for 'nail' heads.

Isn't it just the cutest??
(pat myself on the back..lol)!!
Remember the song
"If I had a hammer,
I'd hammer in the mornings"....on and on...
well I can't get it out of my head now...
lol...hope you can!

So,if you really want to be inspired and get some great
'guy' card ideas...head on over to the
Double D Challenge and check it out....

A Single Rose

This month Sparkle N Sprinkle has a beautiful new stamp release.
One of the stamps is called Roses.

I used one of the single Rose images from the set
and stamped it 3 times, using a mask each time I stamped.

Once the roses were stamped I colored them with Copics,
then used a bit of 'Quicky Glue' pen along some of the petals
and leaves,
then added Ballerina Velvet glitter to the flowers and Parisian Mist  glitter to the leaves.

I added a bit of Nuvo Crystal Glitter Drops Sherbert Shimmer
around the edge of the pretty die cut (Spellbinders).
Have you seen these Nuvo Crystal Drops yet?
They are fabulous and so many gorgeous colors to choose from!!

To the edge of each point of the card,
I added a strip of Tear-ific Tape 1/4', then coated with
Super Thick Silver Embossing powder....another fabulous product!

I added a sentiment from the same set, and more
Nuvo Crystal Drops to the corners
this time in Rhuburb Crumble.

To finish I simply added a bow.

there are lots of very unique and fun things there!!

Pretty Little Mason Jar and The Garden Of 'Weed'n''

I have a 'just for fun' post today.
I saw this cute, cute challenge at
and couldn't resist joining in.

The challenge is "Have a Ball"
using a jar somewhere on your project.

Well, a long time ago I had purchased a few
canning jar digitals
and what a perfect time to get them out and put to use!
I can't remember whose these images were,
but if you type 'mason jars' into Etsy
I am sure you find plenty to choose from.

I also want to share a few more pictures of my gardens.
Garden of Weed'n' as I call it!
The Roses this year are early and so early that the Japanese Beetles
haven't appeared yet to eat them up...
but if you see any 'skeletal' leaves or weeds, just ignore them..lol!

All these Roses are outside our bedroom sliders/deck
and they smell wonderful!

Sorry it's so blurry, but it is so pretty.

This is a Betty Boop  Rose.  I grow Feverfew among the Roses to fill in the gaps.

Same Rose, just a close up.  And I need to treat this bush with a spray.

I'll share more garden photos later.

Shine On

Time for a new challenge at
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards.

The sponsor is
The Stamping Boutique
and the theme is Die Cuts.

I chose their image Lily to work with.
Isn't she just the cutest?

She was colored with Copics,
I even gave her a little 'sunburn'.

Her glasses are very glittery
as I colored them with a purple glitter pen.

I die cut shells from a metallic paper
and a sun from an Impression Obsession die.

The little Star 'shine on' stamp is a 2003 Stampin Up.

Sweet Friendship

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today.

Ready for more Tutti Designs inspiration?
You are...well good,
because I have a super beautiful die to share with you!

Stacked Butterfly Cups...so pretty!

Let me show you a little bit of how I made it.

I started by cutting first from white card stock

Then cut a second time from pink card stock,
but this time I am using only the butterflies from the die cut as shown.
I can use the die cut for another card later!

Next I glued down just various parts of the die cut,
leaving the handles free as I wanted to slightly bend them up
for a more 3D effect.
The butterflies were then 'popped' up
for even more 3D.

(A Tip:  These butterflies also look great as an 'inlaid' look,'meaning
to just pop them in flat').

Here is a side view for a better look.

I finished my card with a little store bought Rose and a
'Serving Sweet Friendship' Stamp!
