Wintry Angel Christmas

The challenge at Fussy and Fancy

Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge

is being hosted by our lovely and talented Jules and she has chosen the theme
'Fairies/Angels/Winter'.

Our sponsor is Lawn Fawn.

My fellow teamie and friend 'Dar'
and I recently purchased two pads of metallic paper pads
and split them between us.
The papers are beautiful and that is what I used for my
gorgeous die cut angel.
The die is Tutti Designs Flying Angel
While Dar was here visiting me in August,
she brought all her Tutti dies and I borrowed
this die at that time and here it is!
I just love it and it is on my list to purchase!

However, I first embossed a snowflake background,
then used the new Nuvo Pure Platinum Mousse to rub over
the entire embossed area.
I wish you see the shimmer in person, it is gorgeous!

I mounted that on a piece of metallic card stock.
Gold flowers and die cut leaves were also added.

I stamped a sentiment in Versamark,
then embossed in a gold EB powder.

Now here is where things get interesting.
I used the same 'Mouse' (Pure Platinum)
and rubbed (with my finger) over the embossed sentiment,
then took a dry baby wipe and 'polished' it up...so pretty!
The sentiment was then die cut out.

So pop on over to the Fussy and Fancy blog

It's Snowing at Dies R Us

Our last challenge for the year 2016
at Dies R Us is 'SNOW'!
It can be anything related to snow!

I choose this cute die from Impression Obsession
Penguin and Igloo.

I embossed a snowy background,
then die cut my igloo from Esse White card stock.
The little penguin is a bit 'picky' with all his little parts,
but it is well worth it as he is so CUTE!!

I die cut a greeting using
Cheery Lynn Designs Merry Christmas die
and added a glittery 'candi' on each snowflake center.

Make sure and enter the challenge for your chance to win
a gift certificate to the Dies R Us store
and check out the cute 'snowy' inspiration from my 'teamies'!!!

12 Tags of Christmas With A Feminine Twist Day 1

Hi All!
Just a VERY quick post with a tag I made for the
Ellen Hutson 12 tags of Christmas with a feminine twist.
I used to do this each year and loved having the tags
for my packages, but the last two years I never had time...sigh!
I was bound and determined to do them this year,
and I have my VERY simple tag one!

12-tags-challenge-lauren

The theme for the first tag is a color one (as shown above)
I used an old SU stamp set Patterned Pines
and SU markers.

The snowflake was sitting on my desk so on it went.
I can't say this is one of my best tags I have ever created,
but it will dress up a package!

I do want to mention the tag base though,
It is one of the new Tutti stitched sets (there are 8 in all)
and you get 8 dies in each set for only $12 a set...WOW...
I see these similar sets sell for as much (or more) at other  places for $24.99
and for international at Tutti, the shipping is a flat rate of $9.95...
pretty reasonable if you ask me.

Recycled Candy Jar

has a fun blog post for you all today
using either a jar or soup can recycled for the holidays!

I used a salsa jar I kept
and made it simply by die cutting a circle for the lid,
adding ribbon and pompom trim around the edge,
then printed a tag from
This is a printable PDF file with 14 tags on it...
very, very useful!!

After printing, I placed a die as shown
(I cut the Dec 25th first and placed over the die
so as not to cut it off)
then ran it thru my machine.
I added a red glitter pen to the words for more sparkle.

I found two snowflakes from my stash
and decorated with that.

So take a peek at The Cutting Cafe blog later today
and you can see all my teamies projects!!

Dreaming Of A White Christmas

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
so much so that our theme being hosted by Team Diane is
Dreaming of a White Christmas and using the mood board
I created below.

I don't know where you live, but it sure looks like we are
going to have a white Christmas here in Michigan.
Not only white but very cold...brrrrr!

I made my card with a new die I purchased.
It is from X-Cut and one of  their 'shadowbox' dies.
The dies come with 4 layers and you just keep stacking
them one on top of the other.
I popped each layer up on mine.
It takes a bit to get the hang of it
(which I haven't yet...lol)
but practice makes perfect as they say.

This die is intended to make the cuts in 4 shades of green,
which will be my next one I make.

The stag head you see also comes with the die
as well as a flying eagle, which I haven't used this time.
I covered the stag head in glue, then sprinkled
Sparkle N Sprinkle  Twinkling Clouds on.

Make sure and head on over to the
Double D Challenge and see what
the design teams have to  show you,
as usual they have once again done a FABULOUS job!!

Spring Bunny

This is my post on the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog today.

I know for a lot of you it is cold outside and even a bit gloomy!
To cheer you up and bring you a bit of sunshine,
I have a pretty  Easter bunny to share with you!
I used the newly released set Spring Bunny.

Spring Bunny

I wanted my eggs in the set to look like real colored Easter eggs,
so I spritzed water on paper,
then lightly tapped different  colors of Nuance on
to give a 'dyed' egg look.

Spring Bunny

I let the paper dry for a bit, then to hurry it along I used my heat gun
to finish drying it.
A tip though, it to let it dry for a bit first once you have achieved the look you want,
otherwise if still wet, the color will shift, and change the way it looks.
The colors of Nuance used for the eggs are
Turquoise, Bright Yellow, PurpleOrange and Pink.
Once dry, I stamped just the egg sections, then fussy cut out and applied to my already Copic colored image.
I also stamped a few separate eggs (part o fth estamp set) and fussy cut those as well.

Spring Bunny

I die cut Impression Obsession clouds and added
Sparkle N Soft Twinkling Clouds to one,
the second cloud was embossed with Coffee embossing powder.
I die cut three grass pieces
then using brushable glueSpirited Green   glitter was added.
The extra eggs were placed among the grass.
To finish, I simply added a bit of
Sugar Plum glitter to the flowers
and a 'fluffy' bunny tail!
Thank you for visiting with me today.
I will be back late this month
using some of the same Nuance papers I have show here...
see you then!

Here is my project using the new stamp set
Build A Flower.

I first started by making my background,
I die cut Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles from white
card stock, then adhered it to Super Adhesive Sheets.
Cloud Nine Velvet glitter was then sprinkled on,
giving a gorgeous sparkle to the die cut and outer edges.

The flower pot was first stamped with Coffee embossing powder.

Then it was coated with Nuvo Large Glue Pen,
I let this set a few minutes, allowing the glue to get nice and tacky.

Now for the  fun part!

The excess was brushed away using Mini Blender Brush set.
Giving the flower pot a nice copper sheen.

Next, I stamped each size flower using Versamark,
then sprinkled with  Polka Dot embossing powder.
Each flower was then fussy cut out.
I slightly bent the petals up and using 3D Foam Squares,
the smaller flower was popped up, slightly off the larger flower.
The flower petals were stamped, colored with copics,
Parisian Mist glitter added to the veins, then fussy cut out.
A tiny little lady bug brad was added to the pot to finish!

Make sure and leave a comment on each of the DT blogs for YOUR
chance to win the entire release!.
Next on the hop is Donna.
