Stained Glass Technique

This is my post on the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog today.

Hi, Diane with you today with a fun technique  called 'stained glass' using the new stamp set 'Pansies'.

For this technique you will need a piece of vellum to stamp on.
Stamp your image with Versamark, then emboss with  Gold Detail embossing powder.

The next step is to simply color on the BACK of the vellum piece.  I used Copic pens for mine.  I think it is such a gorgeous way to color these beautiful pansies.  Just make sure to always color on the back and not accidentally on the front (ask me how I know) as it will ruin your entire effort!

Here it is totally finished with the coloring.

Here is a close up of the detail.
I finished my card by embossing an EB folder for the side panel
and the sentiment with Cherry embossing powder.  A twine bow was added to finish.

I hope you give this technique a try as it is so easy and the results are amazing!

Have A Heart

We are having the BEST weather here in Michigan!
It was 65 yesterday and looks
like it is to be that all the way to next Friday!
Also, we have sunshine for all but 2 of the days,
then back to winter next weekend.
Trouble is much as I like that,
it confuses my poor flowers and they start
to appear, only to be frozen out...ugh!

When I made all my Valentine cards I tired to make a few
that could be used for almost any occasion and I think this one
fits the bill so to speak...a card maybe for a friend or loved one.

I just cut 3 layers/sizes of Tutti Designs
added a red polka dot heart
and then used the new
which I cut from a metallic paper.

I am sure you will be seeing me use these a lot
in my flower cards.

Spring Bird

Fussy and Fancy
is back with our second challenge for the year
after our long holiday break
and let me tell you it feels 'good'
to be back and getting my 'fussy and fancy' mojo going...lol!

Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge

Our theme for the next 2 weeks is 'ribbons and lace'.

One of my paper crafting New Year's resolutions was to use  (or try)
as many of my paper scraps (snippets) and pre-cut, pre-stamped things I could.
so, my entire card with the exception of the ribbon and pearls of course,
came from my scrap bags.

The background embossed piece is one I had embossed and never used,
I added a white frame, as that die is one that when you cut it you get
about 5 different size frames, leaving me plenty more to use.
I stuck a tiny snippet of lace
just inside the bottom of the frame...can you see it..lol?

Next I added a birdhouse and tulips, both rejected from a previous project.
The bird is a die cut that while a group of 'us' girlies were at at a
friends house and she had this die and cut each of us one,
I have since bought the die myself from Cottage Cutz.
To finish I simply added pearls and ribbon (bow) from my monthly ribbon club at RRR.

We would love to see your lace/ribbon cards at our
Fussy and Fancy challenge
and don't forget to pop on over and see what my teamies
have to inspire YOU,
and remember, the FAF girls are 'fussy and fancy'
but you don't have to be!

Roses

Out of the heart mode and into Spring!
The weather here in Michigan is awesome for February....
we are to be in the 50's and 60's all weekend and part of next week....
and lots of sunshine....
puts me in a good mood and a Spring mood as well!

I have a card today using one of the pretty Tutti Design dies
so pretty!

I used a round punch to round out my corners
then stamped spatters on the front.
After die cutting the Roses I used cordinations paper
under each rose after punching out a circle to fit.
Little leaves were tucked under each flower
and a bow added using ribbon from RRR.

Think Spring Challenge at Dies R Us

I hope you all had a 'lovely' (pun intended..lol)
Valentines Day yesterday...I know I did!
So, here we are the day after which brings us to a new
challenge at the Dies R Us challenge blog
with the theme being
'Think Spring'.
A great challenge, as I don't know about you,
but I am so ready for Spring!

I made a colorful little scene using several different dies.

I started with a pretty designer paper for my background
from Wild Rose Studio.
I then started building my scene in layers
first with
Impression Obsession Love Birds
These I die cut a few extra pieces for color, the birds, and a few leaves.
I die cut the Impression Obsession Birdhouse Set next,
trimmed off the poles, and tucked them in behind the birds.
I added a grass border in front using Impression Obsession Grass Border
and tucking a little kitty in the grass Impression Obsession Cats

A sentiment was stamped and embossed with Wild Wasabi EB powder.

Make sure and join in the challenge with us at
Dies R Us as there is always a prize up for grabs
and wonderful inspiration from the fabulous Design Team !

Just Because

New challenge today at Double D Challenges
and it is being hosted by Team Darlene.
She has chosen the theme of Rick Rack/Zigzags
better known to me as chevron..lol!
Call it what you want but it is still a fun
challenge and a really fun 'mood' board to get you inspired!

Though I am on Team Diane, we are able to join in
anytime we want to and who could resist?

I first went through my papers and pulled out a few I thought
would work, I ended up using two,
the one you see and another on the inside

I added a pretty flower panel that has some sparkle on it,
a glittery butterfly and the cutest little tag that I added a twine bow to and stamped
'just because' on the inside.

We would love to have you join us,
and we most usually have a nice prize to a random winner,
so why not head on over to the
Double D Challenge blog and see all the  'pretties'
have to inspire you!!
