For You Mom

As I am writing this up, it is warming up outside today,
I might just be able to work in my gardens today..we'll see!

I saw a few challenges I wanted to play in and came up with
this pretty CAS card.
I might give this card to my Mom this year,
not sure as I usually make a pretty fancy one for her,
but yellow is her favorite color.

Speaking of favorites,
this die by Memory Box Butterfly Collage is one of mine!
It cuts a negative and makes for an easy card
and always so different just depending on what papers
or inks you place under it.
A great die to use for those distress inks.

I used this pretty scrap of paper from SU
all white, green, orange and yellow..full of Springtime goodness!

The sentiment is from an older Gina K Designs set
'Notes To Mom' (2009).
The entire set is all sentiments about Mom,
I have used it over and over,
and the sentiments will even work inside as well.
I have to admit, I had to stop myself from adding a few sequins
here and there for some 'sparkle', but I resisted, keeping it CAS!

Bunnies

The new challenge at
The Sisterhood of Crafters is being hosted by our
lovely 'sistah'  Vickie
and she has chosen the theme
'Bunny Rabbits'.
Cute huh??

I have some really cute bunny stamps, all sizes,
let alone a bunch of bunny dies!

But in the end I decided to go with this little SU stamp from 1998.
YIKES....that means this stamp is 20 years old!

I have been seeing 'kraft' card stock being used a lot lately and
it seems to appeal to me too, a difference from my normal white.
I had a small scrap of paper left on my desk from a previous card
and used that as well.

I colored the little bunny with Copics...easy.
Hemp cord and an old SU button was added.
The sentiment is also SU.

'Hop' on over to our bunny rabbit challenge
at The Sisterhood and see the DT inspiration....join in with us while there!

Ginger Jars

Hi, Diane with you today using a fun
Tutti Designs die 'Ginger Jars'.

I have two different cards today that just by adding
different elements you can create two very easy cards.

The first card I simply layered different papers
and added a bit of  'grass' behind the ginger jar.

I printed out a sentiment/symbol from Pinterest,
used a round circle punch to punch it out
as well a gold metallic circle to go underneath...easy!

The second card has layers as well,
but this time I embossed a panel to put under the jar
and added a leafy vine to offset the ginger jar.
A piece of ribbon was tied for accent.

A True Friend

Tons of new stamps and here I am still using my
older ones lol!
I have been in the long slow process of removing all my
SU stamps from their wood blocks so I can stamp with
them on my stamp platform...how I love that thing!
I am using the Avery Elle stamp bags
and by doing this it is saving me so much space,
space I drastically need!

This stamp was one of those,
I stamped it four times to get a perfect image.
Not sure of the name of it, but is was one of their background stamps
and I have always loved it.

The sentiment is from SU Simple Friendship.
Hard to see but I added a bit of a Nuvo glitter pen to the flowers (orange) for a bit of sparkle!

Totally Square

Today I have a fun little card that is totally square,
4 1/2" square to be exact.

I had the papers you see sitting on my desk to use up somehow
and they worked perfectly for this card.
I die cut 4 scalloped squares from the
Tutti Designs Nesting Scalloped Square set.

The stamps I used are from SU Hello Again set,
not sure of the age but I know they retired them in 2011.

I used a few more of my Memento Dew Drop inks
Bahama Blue, Summer Sky, New Sprout and Tangelo.

I turned the butterfly square on an angle and popped it up.

Well back to the drawing board, I am having fun today
just doing whatever I want and picking out a few challenges to play in.
Too darn cold to do anything else.

Here is a picture of my ever growing Mack
sleeping in his own style outside my craft room door.
The little stinker weighs around 48#'s at 6 months.

Many Blessings

Today I have a very CAS card I did for the challenge at Mod Squad.
I try to do this challenge every time they offer up
A Gina K Designs prize
cuz I am determined I am going to win it..LOL.
I need some new  Gina K stamps as I only have 3 sets of hers
from way back.
the first set I purchased in 2007 as it was
'stamps for a cause'
created to raise money for research
for adults and children who suffer with diabetes.
My granddaughter Ally was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes when she was
eighteen months old, she is 23 now, a beautiful young lady!

This is the fun set of those stamps.

For my card I used a set called 'Friendship's Garden'.
First time I have used this set.
Both the Peace Lily and the sentiment are from this set.

I stamped it with Memento Dew Drop Inks Cottage Ivy and Bamboo Leaves.
I stamped on one of the wonky stitched die cuts I
recently purchased when Cottage Cutz had a half off sale.

I think this card would make a nice sympathy card.

Baby Bib Notepad

I have the cutest baby note pad today
using a cut file from The Cutting Cafe.

Twice a month on the 7th and on the 21st
The Cutting Cafe blog team gets together in one place to show
our projects and this time we were to use any
shaped card we wanted, but with a twist,
we were to turn it into a notepad .

There are soooooooooo many shaped cards to choose from,
but I decided to go with this cute, cute Bib!

I used a plain white card stock for the base
then a couple pieces of designer paper on that.
Both were from a new paper pad I purchased online at half off,
one I had never seen before from a company out of London
'Carvania London'.
The pad is 8 x 8  "It's A Girl'
and full of gorgeous papers and a nice heavy quality.

I added a pretty pink ribbon and roses at the top and a few pearls
along the scalloped bib edges.

Inside I added 8 papers and trimmed the top with paper buttons,
(part of the cut file set).
This set comes with numerous add on's,
but I decided to leave it as is 'dainty'.

Now my idea for this, is to use it at a baby shower
and have guests sign advice for the new mother...a keepsake,
it's so pretty who would want to tear a paper out as a notepad, right?

So on Saturday the 7th (usually later in the afternoon)
head on over to The Cutting Cafe blog and see ALL
the designs from the DT....leave a comment there
and you could win three cut files of your own!!
