Peace On Earth Challenge #43

Happy 'almost' 4th of July!!
It is once again time for a new challenge at Peace On Earth
and as always our theme is ANYTHING GOES CHRISTMAS!
In keeping within the month of July I created this fun
red~white~blue somewhat patriotic mood board for inspiration,
BUT, it can be anything you like as long as it is Christmas themed!

I decided to let the fun mood board inspire me and went with the RWB colors
for my card.  I used a die that has become a very favorite one of mine
for the holidays, a stocking die from Sizzix.  It's such a fun die in that you can
create just about any kind of stocking your heart desires!
I used a Memory Box Stencil Star Dust stenciled with Memento Dew drop inks
Lady Bug and Danube inks.  In the stocking is a spray of stars
die cut with Sue Wilson Star Spray dies.

The background paper is from Mintay and die cut with Cottage Cutz Wonky Rectangle die.
The sentiment is stamped from Pretty Pink Posh Holiday Sentiments.
A few sequins were added for color and a bit of shimmer.

Won't you join us with our fun challenge at
Peace On Earth?
It gives you an opportunity to get ahead on your holiday cards!
Speaking of, we also have a year round Halloween Challenge
Two Old Bats
not only letting you get ahead on those too, but to let you use your
fun Halloween supplies year round!!

TOB July Challenge

Gosh the year is already half over and we are into our July
challenge at Two Old Bats.
In staying within the month of July we have a silly and fun
red~white~blue inspiration mood board for you.
You can however, create anything you want as long as it is
Halloween themed

 INSPIRATION BOARD

I joined in the fun with my red, white and blue fun skeleton die
from Memory Box that I have had for a very long time and never used before.
I didn't realize how tall he was and started to build him on an A2 card.
Well, that certainly didn't work, so I started over this time making a slimline card.
I gave him a red bow tie and added a rub on bat and stars.
The sentiment is from a set of Wordies Sentiment sheets.
he is much 'cooler' in real life!!

Won't you join in our fun with us at Two Old Bats
and pop on over to see all the fun inspiration from the team!

Sketch 729

A new sketch at Sketch Saturday and it's a pretty easy one!!
The optional theme is to use sponging on your card.

My card was pretty much created from things I already had die cut and just
sitting around waiting to be used.  I did use the option and sponged on
TH Distress Squeezed Lemon ink.

Hope to see you over at Sketch Saturday!!

Four Seasons July Summer

We are into our second month of SUMMER at
Four Seasons
and have a fun summery mood board for inspiration
but you can create anything as long as it has a summer theme!!

Summer Season July 2023

I used a never been used since I purchased it a LONG while back
fun die set Sitting Pretty and  Sitting Pretty Accessories die sets by The Greetery.
I used a Lawn Fawn stencil for behind my porch scene and a few premade flowers
I had in my stash.  I messed up on the placement of the kitty,
he should of been back further to show some of the rocker cushion,
The Greetery does have a placement chart which I found AFTER I had adhered kitty down!

There are a lot of different creations using this die set at The Greetery
so I think I will have fun making a few more seasonal scenes with this set!

Take a peek at Four Seasons for more inspiration
and we would LOVE to have you join in with us!!

Soak Up The Sun

Our new theme at The Sisterhood of Crafters is BEACH
I created this card out of almost totally new, never been used before supplies.
The wavy background die I bought at least two years ago and it is
from Ellen Hutson's collection of Essentials By Ellen 'Strands'.
I loved the wavy watery look .  The Fish are Poppystamps Whittle Fish.
and the sentiment is My Favorite Things Sunshine and Friendship.
The light blue piece in the background is die cut from Spellbinders.

Take a peek over at The Sisterhood and see all the fun 'beachy'
creations from my 'sistahs'!

Happy Birthday Butterflies

Can You Handle The Pressure challenge blog has a new 'optional' theme
today and it is BUTTERFLIES!
The theme is always optional and you can create anything you want
as long as you have used an embossing folder,
after all that  is what we are all about!

I used TWO embossing folders for my card.
The base of the card uses an OLD Sizzix SU folder Elegant Bouquet.
I embossed it on a Sizzix card stock brights paper made for the Bigz dies.

The butterflies were die cut, then embossed and inked.
This is one of my favorite folders from Simon Says Stamp
that comes with both the folder AND the dies.
I think it creates the prettiest butterflies and 3 more are included
besides the two I used!

So, get out those neglected embossing folders and come on over to
Can You handle The Pressure
and have some fun with us, there is always a fun prize for a random winner!!

Color Challenge

A new challenge theme starts today at
Double D and it's all about color!
 COLOR CHALLENGE

(use one of these drink colors for your project)

I not only let the yellow lemonade inspire me
but the lemon itself!
I had saved this one last napkin from last summer to use
for the 'napkin/glitter technique' which can be found on youtube
for instructions.  I used a double sided adhesive first placing
on a heavy white card stock, then peeling off the remaining
paper and adhering the napkin to it.  I trimmed it up a bit
then covered the entire piece with Versamark
then used SU's heat and stick powder
covering the entire napkin piece.  Once heated with my heat gun
I dumped transparent Crystal Glitter Ritz on it.
In the video they use SU Dazzling Diamonds
which I have but I think that one might be semi-transparent
and I really wanted the image to show thru.
Then you just heat set it again to make sure the glitter adheres.
I didn't want to add a sentiment yet and not even sure if I will.

Lots of colorful and pretty inspiration over  on
the Double D challenge blog, so you might want to pop on over
there and take a peek, Join in with us too using one of the four
colors shown on the mood board above!
