Card In A Box

So, last night  my mood was, well lets just say "rock bottom low"
and guess what I woke this morning with the same "rock bottom low" mood!!
So I grabbed a cuppa and started to look around at blogs, pinterest etc...
and all of a sudden out of nowhere pops up this blog with this wonderful
tutorial on how to make a "Card In A Box".....

it was LOVE at first sight...it was meant to be...it made me excited...
it took me out of the rotten mood zone and put me back on track!!

so, now I have to tell you I haven't been this excited since...well I don't know when!!
and I also have to warn you that this is a "heavy picture" post!!
I tried to take pictures from several different angles....

I made this particular card for two reasons...
1.  I want to send something nice to the nursing home my Aunt Janice is in...
something she can set out and enjoy!

2.  I have been racking my brain of what to come up with this week for the
challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs which is "add a flourish"...I think I got it nailed!!
I used Cheery Lynn Designs Fanciful Flourish!!

This the back where you can stamp your sentiment, write a message
and the back panel is what gives your card it's stability  .

This is the card folded up to mail...
yes, it folds up "FLAT" to mail...
you will just need to make an envelope large enough to hold
the little pieces that are sticking out!!!

this is what it looks like before you decorate it
(pardon my mess on my desk)

so, do you want to try one yourself??
you do...great...go here for the printed tutorial and
for the video tutorial as well!!

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Cheery Lynn Designs "Add A Flourish"

and

Simon Monday Challenge "Love Notes"

Cuttin and Stampin "Sweethearts"

and

and

  4. You're kidding. You got up this morning, surfed, found this, studied the how to, created it, photographed it, and wrote a blog post. You probably did some other stuff you haven't mentioned, too. I know you're a little ahead of me in time zones, but I've been up for 3 hrs, and all I've got to show for it is 3 ultra-CAS cards and a mess to clean up. Okay, I did visit some blogs and love on the doggies a while, but still... This is probably the all-time cutest, most amazing Valentine EVER! You've got the perfect big sentiment for the back, too. Actually, there just aren't adequate words for how awesome this card is. I'm going to check out the tutorial. I probably won't get one made for Valentine's Day, but maybe by next Christmas... WOW!

  5. Not on,y is the pop-up card fantastic, Diane, but certainly is your plan to send it to your aunt in a nursing home. I'm sure she will be so happy to be able to show her friends what she received. Nice gesture!
I agree with Mary...this is a prize winner!

  9. I just had to mention, while I was typing the above comment, Blue Moon
Scrapbooking called, to personally thank me for the order I placed earlier in the week when you told me of the Prima Doll stamp named "Mindy". Wow! I think that is the first time a company has called, to thank me for my order. Thanks for the link!
