Today at
'Diamonds'.
Pretty easy is all you have to do is use any kind of
diamond shape in your creation!
A funny thing happened 'on the way' to creating my card...
I did NOTHING at all that I had intended lol!
I first sat down and went through lots and lots of paper pads
to find some with a diamond pattern on them,
pulled them out and then never used a one lol!
Here is my card without any 'diamond' designer paper.
I added a cute birdhouse die cut from Impression Obsession.
For the sentiment I had intended to use a die cut word 'hello'
but after cutting it realized I had cut 'hugs' instead...whoops..lol...
I think hugs works just as well!!
So make sure to head on over to

Here is my card without any 'diamond' designer paper.
After rejecting all the designer paper, I pulled out my 'diamond' embossing folders,
I had six that all had some kind of diamond pattern on them.
The one I chose is an older Cuttlebug one that I have had since forever!
I just loved the pretty pattern of it and thought it would go good with my new
Sue Wilson 'Peony Diamond' die.
Isn't this a pretty die?
One of the things I love about her dies is that you have several options of
just by different layering them you can get lots of different ways to use them.
The other die is a Cottage Cutz Bird Trio,
no trio here though, as I cut it apart to fit lol!

Diane, your card is gorgeous! I love your diamond theme and would never have thought of it. Your pretty birds are the star of this card because of your wonderful details. And, yes, I love that your sentiment is "Hugs" - we need more of them in this world! Have a great week, Sis!
ReplyDeleteThis is very sweet. Clever "diamond" find there - along with your background.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful & fun card you have created Di! I LOVE that embossed background ... it really helps bring focus to your beautiful focus die & birdies. I don't designer paper would have done any better! Great decision! Love that SW die (hmmm don't think I have that one)lol and your birds look fabulous (smart thinking to cut them apart ... more use of a die ... smart lady!). Your little birdhouse is an adorable addition! You rocked this theme and shared awesome inspiration! Well done!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card Diane! I love your new diamond die cut and how you've added the birds inside, beautiful design!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Tammy
A beautiful card and reminds me of Spring.
ReplyDeleteWow! Fantastic use of all the diamond shapes in your theme, Diane! I especially like that you used the argyle as a diamond shape - it looks fabulous with your design. That SW die is GORGEOUS! I can see why you love it. Made me chuckle for accidentally using hugs instead of hello - something I would definitely do myself - but it's perfect with your birds and the lovely pinkness! hugs, de
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful. I love the blue (and spot of green) against the pink. Love Dawn x
ReplyDeleteLove, LOVE this card, Diane! Ohhh, such sweetness! I agree, that SW die is so pretty. A nice size and it's all feminine and delicate in a girly, sweet way. I absolutely love the birds, too. Cottage Cutz you say? I shopped there last month -- sales, sheesh! I've also had that diamond EF since forever. Pretty sure it's the same one. Well, this was fun. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI totally understand starting with one thought and ending with something completely different as the card is allowed to evolve, LOL!! This card is so pretty with STUNNING details. I do love the dies! Combined they make such a pretty picture. It's a wonderful card to lead your challenge! Well done, Sis!
