The Softer Side of Orange

A bit of orange~a bit of lavender~ such a pretty combination from A Creative Mint ~ once a week Melissa at Lilybeanpaperie has a challenge using a collage of color from A Creative Mint ~I loved this color combo, had planned on making a Top Note Die quilt card, but once the 1" squares were punched, I loved them as they were!  I found an embroidered flower applique in my stash of sewing and decided to add it for a softer look~I love it when my sewing supplies and my paper supplies are in "harmony" together!
On a "good" note, I am still not over the nasty virus that grabbed me, but am feeling lots better~better enough that I plan on doing a scrapbook layout to drop off at our NEW~soon to open scrapbook store...I can hardly wait!!!
Have a nice weekend!!!

More Card Creations Inspiration!!

I have been having a ball with my new Card Creations Magazine~so many inspiring cards to use as inspiration!  I choose a card from page 125 created by Julia Stainton....hers was a Sympathy card..I just loved the foldver flap on the front!  My main cardstock color is SU Melon Mambo, a great color for Spring!

Butterfly Freenzy

If you have read my previous posts, you all know I have been sick with a serious sinus infection...so have not been too  creative lately.....have pretty much been a "couch potato" for the last 2 weeks...guess I caught a virus the same time my computer did...at least I didn't "bite the dust" like my computer did...LOL...but not being one to sit still long, I have had to come up with some things I could do that didn't involve too much activity.....I purchased this wonderful MS Monarch butterfly punch, grabbed my scrap paper and had a butterfly cutting freenzy....now what the heck will I do with all these butterflies?.......think I will do a bunch of matching note cards, a scrapbook page and maybe a few giftie things...well that took about 2 minutes...now what can I do and not move my head too much???

Handmade Flowers~Think Spring

I subscribe to YouCanMakeThis.com and they had a link for the tutorial for these flowers......thought I would give it a "whirl"...went to JoAnn fabrics and bought 3 different small pieces of organza for the round flowers and they had a couple of felt remnants for the layered flower...the organza flowers you hold over a candle flame and it seals (melts) the edges......I had my candle in the sink (just for safety measures) and my hubby came in and said "what the heck are you doing".....heehee...he never "gets it"!!!  They were fun...a bit large for card making, but I plan to make a few smaller ones for other projects.......go and watch the video, but be warned......these are addicting!!!

Up and Running!!!

My first post in over 2 1/2 weeks....wow...it sure feels good to be back online....I have suffered terribly not being able to "do anything"...I have so much to catch up on!  I did puchase the new Papercrafts Card Creations.....and was so inspired to  do a few of them.....what I loved about  this issue is that every card also had the inside finished.....they are calling it "from the INSIDE OUT"....I did the card on page 65 that Teri Anderson created......I used Stampin'Up!'s hostess set "Of The Earth"....Cardstock was Apricot Appeal, Melon Mambo and of course Whisper White.
My other two cards...well, I know Valentines is over, but I wanted to share these.....the first one I used my Scallop Edge punch to cut a strip, then you run it thru your crimper to make a "ruffle"....I loved how it turned out.
The last card is using a new embossing folder from HSN, and an intricate cut from my Cricut and then some tiny punched hearts......the little tag is  the newest punch from the SU mini...the insides of these cards are "finished" as well.......come back tomorrow I have a few more  cards from the Card Creations.....!!
