Using My New Copics~Be Gentle!!

One of the wonderful gifts I received this Christmas was a set of Copics.....trouble is, I don't have any colors to "blend" with...I asked for a set, never even thinking about the Copic family of colors I would need to blend...but that's okay....I can now add to them myself a little at a time!  I did however have a few (6) before I received the set of 12, so I had a few to work with...this is only my second "attempt" at using Copics...so be kind...lol!  All stamps used are Stampin' Up!........

Birthday Wishes~Just Add Ink Challenge #31

I have been somewhat slacking in doing challenges....they are wonderful to challenge your mind with.  This week at "Just Add Ink", the challenge was "color" using  Stampin' Up! colors Real Red~Kraft~Chocolate Chip....a very pleasing combination!  I stamped the flower using a heart image from a SU hostess set called Punch Potpourri......a fun set as it works with 4 of the SU punches!  I stamped and punched 6 hearts, curled up the edges a bit, added a button, and I had an instant vintage look flower.....I really like how it turned out...a clean and simple card!

Recipe:  Stamps:  Punch Potpourri,  Ink:  Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip,  Cardstock:  Kraft (crumb cake), Real Red, Very Vanilla, Accessories:  Real Red grosgran ribbon, button, Vintage Wallpaper EB folder, Full Heart xl punch, Modern Label xl punch

Grateful For Fall

I have a "hate~love" relationship with August!!!  I love the feel of the air, even though it is extremely  HOT...it still has that "feel" of whats to come...I LOVE that!!  August also means that it's almost the end of summer here in Michigan....fall will come and go and next thing you know its cold and dreary...we can go days without sun...I hate that...guess I had better enjoy it while I can!!

This morning I was thinking I have all these SU wheels, I love them, but never seem to use them much, so I pulled out my "Bright Blessings" wheel, ran it thru "Old Olive" ink, then punched out 3 scallop circles with my SU extra large scallop circle punch...kind of neat how none of the "punching" was planned, it just worked out!  Because I punched 3 circles, I decided to make 3 fall cards!!  I will list the supplies used under each card...all supplies used are Stampin' Up!...if you are interested in buying any of these goodies, just let me know and I can help you out.  I think I am going to have a "wheel Wednesday".....every Wednesday I will create something with a "wheel"...lets see how long that lasts (first I have to "remember" to do it...)..LOL!!

Cardstock: Soft Suede, So Saffron, Very Vanilla, Ink:  Old Olive, Soft Suede, So Safron, Cajun Craze; Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Linen Thread, Falling Leaves Stamp set, Bright Blessings Wheel; XL scallop circle punch
Cardstock:  Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Ink:  Old Olive, Soft Suede, So Saffron, Cajun Craze; pumpkin pie grosgrain ribbon, Stamps:  Falling Leaves,  Define Your Life;  Bright Blessings wheel, XL scallop circle punch

Cardstock:  Soft Suede, Very Vanilla,  Ink:  Old Olive, Soft Suede, So Saffron, Cajun Craze;  Stamps: Falling Leaves, Bright Blessings Wheel; Extra Large Scallop Circle Punch, Modern Label Punch , retired certainly celery ribbon (just because it was laying on my desk!)

Flowers For "U" ~ Totally SU

A busy day today.....made this card early this am.....I punched out 3 flowers with my somewhat "new" SU XL Scallop Circle Punch...I got this punch "free"...don't you just love "free"??  I then ran it thru my "Big Shot" using the SU embossing folder Square Lattice...using my sponges, I sponged Poppy Parade Ink on all the flowers, cut out the SU Exclusive Sizzlits Die "little leaves" which happens to be one of my most used dies......the bit of DS paper is SU Gala Greenhouse...I think I am going to poke a little sentiment somewhere on it...what do you think??  The ribbon used is Daffodil Delight as well as the cardstock for the card base!

The new mini Stampin" Up! holiday mini will be available to order on Sept 1...if you would like me to send you off a catalog, just let me know and send me your address, I would love to.  I have to say this is my most favorite one yet.....I guess because of the all the new items we are carrying plus the wonderful Halloween and Christmas items....

Birthday Wishes

I love the new colors of cardstock that Stampin'Up! has come out with....I heard alot of moans and groans about all the retired colors, but you just "gotta" love these new ones.....this one is daffodil delight...heck just the name alone draws my atttention!  The designer paper I used is the new Gala Greenhouse...the entire pack of paper is beautiful, I cut around some of the flowers on one of the designs....the butterfly is the SU butterfly punch...I stamped with daffodil ink on white cardstock, then punched it out, the stamp set for the butterfly is a level one hostess set called Punch Potpourri...the ribbon used is also Daffodil Delight...I finished the inside of the card as well...the sentiment I stamped with the new SU Early Espresso...funny but I always used Choclate Chip, then they came out with Soft Suede, so I was always grabbing for that,  now I find myself using the Espresso all the time....see ya later!!

Bird On A Branch~Emboss Resist

Not such a pretty day here today...gloomy.....good day to stamp!!  My May 2009 Stampin' Success had a card using "Bird On A Branch" with the emboss resist technique.....I changed mine a bit, adding the free sale-a-bration Vintage Labels for my sentiment...
I love this set, it stamps beautifully and I just love the look of it, not to mention the set utilizes our SU punches!  Simple but elegant cards....and no flowers!!!!

I am sure you have seen the "wave" of flowers going on...it has to be one of the "hottest" trends right now...and me...well, I am right there in that trend!  I LOVE flowers~I LOVE making flowers...so mostly for this week, that is what you will see here!
You all know I am cleaning, revamping, reorganizing my "creative" room...well ,that's where I have been...what a mess, but when its done, you will hear a big sigh of "relief".....don't listen for it yet, I have a long way to go!!
Now back to my card,   I loved how this card turned out....so "Spring" like, and I think the colors are divine!!  I just ordered the "Blossom Party" die from SU (along with another one) and could not wait to use it.....the sentiment is from the sale-a-bration set "Whimsical Words".....I love this set, the "script is so beautiful~the punch is also a freebie from the same catty....want either of these free??  Email me and I can tell you how to get them free.  Iam putting this in the challenge at Lilybeanpaperie blog...the challenges each week are from A Creative Mint.....yummy, always!

Fifth Avenue Floral

Some of my favorite stamps are flowers~but I am a huge flower gardener, so it all makes sense.....I LOVE this SU set Fifth Avenue Floral...was playing around a bit with color...rather bright, but it fits for this dreary day...58 here, but with all the snow we still have and the gloom, one would never know it...not complaining though, I can see my Spring flowers pushing up out of the ground......I used Only Orange, Taken With Teal, Whisper white and a scrap from SU Pink Flamingo DS paper...well off to color  a few more flowers...see ya!!

Vintage Vogue

Took a break this early a.m. to create this "pennant" card~I used the SU Sizzix die for pennants (small one) and the "yummy" SU Sending Love Specialty DSP...each sheet has glitter on one side......the chocolate chip ribbon is also SU~all items (cept' the die) are from the Occasions Mini Catalog...want some....I'll be glad to order it for you!  The stamp set used is "Vintage Vogue"~also from the "mini"!

Flowers are "HOT this season"...I made this flower from a collection of items, bottom flower is from the same die as mentioned above, next layer is the SU scallop circle punch, and the the 4 layers are from various sizes of round SU punches`all have been "crumpled" and the last 4 layers I inked the edges...the inside has detail as well....that's it...what do you think???  Have a SU order arriving tomorrow...I can hardly wait...ahhhhhh life is good!!!

Might have to venture off to Hobbylobby.....heard they had NEW Copics in........see ya!!

Echo Inspired Card~Yummy Cookies

Happy Sunday everyone~it's warm here...or going to be...maybe 46 today...raining and WET!  But, at least the snow is melting away~for today!  Its been a whirlwind 48 hours...but I was able to do a challenge I found on SCS....an inspiration challenge using an item of choice from Echo , I choose this "Jaipur Square Embroidered pillow".....it is suspose to be a "jumping off point" to make your card...but when I saw this I right away thought of my yet "uninked" Stampin'Up! "Medalion"...just had to use it and make this pretty card!  Its a large one, the stamp is HUGE~I also stamped a flower image from SU Petal Pizzazz...just so "sunshiney" on such a dreary day!

Here are  some yummy cookies I baked on Friday~they are good, but so very sweet....they have an entire container of ricotta cheese in them...different...I found the recipe on another blog......have a nice day!!!

Dasher~Lovely As A Tree~Flourishes Timeless Tuesday~Clean and Simple

I wanted to use my "Dasher" stamp again as I love him so much!  I paired him with "Lovely As A Tree" using only "soft suede" ink...I stamped the tree image off on scrap paper twice for each background tree, then used a fully inked stamp for the front tree as well as Dasher!  I love the top note die and haven't used it much lately...time to get it back out!  A piece of SU designer paper Christmas Cocoa Specialty, a bit of real red ribbon and my card is done!  A perfect card for the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge!

The tags are again made with the scraps....I am slowly gaining on my tags....see you tomorrow!

Blue~Blue Christmas

Remember the Elvis song "I'm having a blue, blue Christmas??  This card reminds me of that with all the blue!!  My trees are stamped in Certainly Celery and Old Olive and then cut out...I added a chipboard glittered tree, a sentiment and ribbon, some DS paper..and I have a fast and very pretty card!!  The card took much less time then my scrap tags below...go figure!!

The stamp set I used for the trees, is a retired hostess set that Ijust love...it has so many uses for this time of the year..it is called Perfect Presentation...see you tomorrow!

Dasher

Can you believe its almost Thanksgiving?  It seems that time passes by so quickly.  We have snow predicted for tomorrow and Thanksgiving.....ugh...just NOT ready for that.....but each year in the first weekend of December, a town about 5 miles from here has a Christmas parade, we always go as we have had "royality" in it each year (not this year), but its a fun parade and it is always cold, snowing and freezing, and that is only a week and a half away...so I guess the snow holding off this long is a blessing!
My card for today was using mostly SU products...the dasher stamp...I just love that little reindeer...and the Baroque Motifs set...another favorite.....I was just in the mood for soft and pastel I guess.....gotta run...see you tomorrow!

PS:  I took "Nellie" to town with me yesterday...I think she was over excited and was just plain worn out.....I think it was the excitement of her "milkbone" from the bank!!

Christmas Tree Farm~Saturday Spotlight Challenge

I woke up this morning at 3AM.....very usual for me......the first thing I saw was the big dipper and a sky full of stars.....it was so thrilling, as in our area stars are a rare site anymore....a good start to the day of Friday the 13th!
I usually try to do a few challenges a week...so many good ones and so hard to choose...but this week I choose Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential...you were to use the same image more then once on your card... I choose Stampin' Up!'s Loads of Love.....this was my very first SU stamp set I ever bought.....I was invited to a workshop and did not attend, bought about $100 worth of supplies (blindly I might add...like I bought a wheel...not knowing you had to purchase the handle separate...I now make sure if someone order's a wheel that they have a handle)....I stamped a "tree farm" so to speak...the inside of the card is decorated as well...  I added "snow" beneath the trees for a bit of the sparkle that I love so much....and I managed to get a few more tags done...see you tomorrow!

Home For Christmas and More Tags

It's a cold crisp morning here...perfect day to finish washing the outside windows....I'll be glad when that job is done!
I purchased "Home For Christmas" last year and just love all the details in this stamp!  My first card is rather plain and simple, with just a "pop" of color.....this is one of those cards you could make several of in a hurry!

The second card I added lots of color...though my "gold" hinges look yellow...and its a gold glitter pen I used...what's with that?....guess I need a NEW glitter pen!  On the tree I used SU Shimmery White paint...like the look of it...sort of 3D.

I also managed 2 more simple tags with scraps....so far so good!

Winter Wonderland

Don't you just love how fresh fallen snow sparkles.....frosty~cold~sparkle.....I love it for a few months, then it can go away...luckily we only had a few snowflakes so far...but if it snows on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day....priceless!
I made this card with a long retired Stampin'Up! set called "Winter Wonderland".....added some "ice" Stickles on the trees and the ice........I used shimmery white CS from Stampin'Up! with my EB folder...and of course I couldn't "forget" my tags...made with scrap left...the image was one I wasn't happy with after it was stamped...perfect to cut apart for these tags...I am gaining on my tags!
