Happy Mother's Day

This is my post on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog today
for our "Mother's Day" challenge.
I hope you can join us there!!

Mother's Day...what can I say but a holiday well deserved....
I feel very fortunate to still have my own Mom at a young age of 87 this May!!
I made this Mother's Day card thinking of many good memories while
constructing it...the gingham ribbon being one....my Mom had a love for gingham...
which passed down to me....you see it on many of my cards.

This card started out with some of the most "yummy" card stock....
this particular piece is Echo Bronze Stardream Metallic ...
a 105# card stock with a metallic sheen on both sides!!

The next layer is one I had so much fun making.
I used white card stock and stenciled a background using
this is a smaller stencil, so I first placed it in the center of my card stock
then sponged on  Tim Holtz Distress ink Pumice Stone
being careful not to ink along the edges so as not to get a square edge on it.
I then just moved it around and sponged on more ink until it was totally covered.
I then placed the stencil back over a few flowers lining them up and sponged on Tim Holtz
Tea Die ink for a bit of darker color here and there.
When the stenciling was done, I distressed the edges.

I added a few Memory Box Tall Chloe Stem die cuts with paper from
and Memory Beach Sprigs cut from Graphic 45 Botonical Tea 6 x 6 paper.
The "gingham" bow was added and I attached a cute little bow and heart cut from

I hope you will join us this week in our "Mother's Day challenge...
we would love to see "your" projects!!

"Pretty Prints" at The Shabby Tea Room

Well, another week has flown by it seems....
they seem to just get shorter and shorter...
It's time for a new challenge at "The Shabby Tea Room" and this week
our host and sponsor is our own Debbie with her adorable line of
"Paper Sweeties" stamps and bits and bobs!!

The challenge is to use the photo for inspiration for colors and a bit of fabric!!

I love how my card just sort of "came together"......
I wanted to use some of my Mint paper straws from Paper Sweeties
and turned them into clothesline poles....
I stamped a few outfits from the Paper Sweeties boutique using the sets

I created a flower from fabric, added my sentiment to that.....
a few birds flew in to complete my card.

Head on over to "The Shabby Tea Room" and see the beautiful projects
the rest of the Design Team has for you
...I am sure you will be inspired to join in!!

~~~~~~~Sparkle and Shimmer~~~~~~~
Do you ever just get an "urge" to do something?
Well, I had an "urge" to do a clean and simple card.
I saw the challenge at CAS on Sunday was Sparkle and Shimmer...
so that is how this card "came to be"!!
I have a nice "collection" of Elizabeth Peel Off Stickers....
these AREN'T regular sticker stickers...lol
They are an outline sticker and so fun to use!!
I "peeled" off my flower and stuck it on a piece of scor-tape paper.
then you apply a very fine glitter to the sticky part...
I used a transparent "warm glitter"...
then you can color it in with Copics or brush markers....
I chose to use my rarely ever used SU markers.....
and "colored" in my flower right on top of the glitter....
Colors used were Only Orange, Basic Black (for the center), Pool Party,
Coastal Cabana, and Crisp Catalope.
I was happy these markers worked so well, saving the wear on my Copics!!
Before adhering the finished flower to my card, I stamped my
"splatters" using a SU Gorgeous Grunge stamp with Only Orange ink...
I love that the "sticker" ends up being transparent enough
that the "grunge" shows through under it!!
I added some rather large Teresa Collins sequins, a bit of twine and it was done!!
I kind of like it...simple but effective I think!!
Hello Classy Friends, Diane here with you today.
I have a very cheerful Spring card to share with you I made for our
I love the colors of this card..I call them "happy colors"!!
I started with the gorgeous Stardream Serpentine Pearlized Metallic
105# cardstock.
What can I say about this paper except..."you will love it"!!!  A beautiful light green,
Metallic paper that has become a favorite!!
I next used Impression Obsession Large Fence die....
if you could see this card "up close",
you would notice a nice "wood grain" embossing on the boards.
After cutting your fence,
run it through your machine again (in proper stacking order for your machine)
and you get all the wonderful wood grain effect!
I popped up my fence slightly using Joy! Foam Pads Small, I was then able to tuck my
Next I cut 2 sets of Impression Obsession Hollyhocks die.
An interesting part of this die is, it comes with 4 little separate flower dies
you can cut to layer for a "3D" look!
I colored my flowers with Copic markers in a coral color.
The Butterflies (yes I know I use these a lot) are Joy! Crafts....
They come in a set of 3, the one I used being the smaller...
I do love this die, the butterflies are a perfect size and shape!!
I hope you will join in our weekly challenge and "WOW" us with your creations this week!!
