USA Birthday

At Can You Handle The Pressure our OPTIONAL theme is
STARS AND/OR STRIPES.

July 4th was also the 250th birthday of our great country
so I went that way but got my inspiration from Pinterest from
a  2013 card I saw HERE.  I loved the design of her card and
changed it up a bit with what I had to make it.
I used several different things starting with a Spellbinders
Striped Slimline embossing folder.  I just had to emboss it
then line it up again and emboss the other side of it, it worked out
pretty good.  The stars are Tutti Designs Stitched Nested Stars.
The strip is part of The Greetery's Bow die,
it does have stitching on it though it is hard to see,
and the scallop strip is a SU Scallop punch.
The sentiment is Hero Arts Yay Birthday
stamped in Dew Drop Nautical Blue.
It was VERY hard to get a clear picture of the embossing
but trust me it's there.

If you have a love of embossing folders
then our challenge is
for you.
We have plenty of fun inspiration too, at
Can You Handle The Pressure!

Birthday Wishes

Get those embossing folders out as it's time for a new challenge
at Can You Handle The Pressure
and our OPTIONAL theme is PURPLES!

I created a super easy card this time around starting with a
store bought 6x6 card base that I embossed with a
WeR Memory Keepers Quilted EB folder, so pretty.
I topped it with a Stamps By Me Violet Hues 5x5 topper.
There are eight designs in this set and 2 of each!
The sentiment is a Spellbinders Glimmer sent to me by a
kind blogger friend.  This card came together in less then five minutes
but so pretty!

Save Water

Our new OPTIONAL Twist/theme at
Can You Handle The Pressure
the challenge that requires you to use an embossing folder is
Boys To Men meaning you can create any kind of masculine card
for the younger or the adult males in your life.

Long ago I saw this stamp set on another blog and had to hunt it down
to purchase it as I knew it would be a fun hit for anyone
receiving a card with these crazy characters on it.
The stamp set is Funky Fossil Chatty Bar.
It has five fun images and five fun sentiments on it.
I have stamped this one before and used it again as it
seemed to make the perfect masculine card for an adult.
The embossing folder is Spellbinders Plaid Company.
You can't tell in the photo but I used a Nuvo shimmer pen
on the ice cubes and his teeth.

Get out your embossing folders and come on over to

You Did It

It's getting closer and closer to graduation this year and we only
have one granddaughter graduating from high school this year
and a grandson getting his masters so I decided to make a grad
card for a young lady for our Can You Handle The Pressure challenge blog.
Our OPTIONAL theme is embellishments.

Its a simple card really.  I used for the first time a TH mini texture fades
Mini Kaleidoscope EB folder on a Homey Bee Team Tie Dye paper.
I embellished the larger flowers with white pearls.
All the other papers came out of my 'pink' scrap bag.
The sentiment is a Spellbinders Betterpress.

Have neglected EB folders?  Then get them out and join our challenge at
Can You Handle The Pressure.

Happy Birthday Balloons

The OPTIONAL theme at Can You Handle The Pressure is
BALLOONS!!

I created a VERY simple card letting the Paper Rose Balloon
embossing folder do the work, embossed on
Brutus Monroe Tie Dye paper, I think it made the perfect paper
for the balloons, the sentiment is a Spellbinders Betterpress.

We would love to have you join us at Can You Handle The Pressure.

It's Your Day

Can You Handle The Pressure is bringing to you an
OPTIONAL theme of FLOWERS
but you can create anything as long as an embossing folder is used, that is a MUST
to enter our challenge!

I found an already embossed panel in my 'spare parts'
box and since that is my goal of to use this year, plus the fact
that it is downright pretty, I pulled it out to use.
The folder is Spellbinders Flower Frenzy which I  'might' of picked up
during one of their warehouse sales.
I need to make more of my Spellbinders Bold Blooms flowers so am trying to
use up what I already have made and that is where these flowers
came from.  They worked perfectly with my folder and perfect for the theme.
The sentiment is a Betterpress stamp and die.

So many new embossing folders out there
to purchase, we hope to see some at our
Can You Handle The Pressure challenge!

Blue Birthday

Hello friends!  Today at Can You Handle The Pressure,
the challenge that is all about using your embossing folders
has a new OPTIONAL theme and it is BLUE ON BLUE,
meaning we want to see ALL blue cards or you can create
our anything goes theme as long as an embossing folder has been used.

I started out thinking I was going to make a baby card
and had an idea all set for it, but somehow this card came about instead.
I am in the process of trying to use up my SU card stocks as I have had them
for quite sometime and the way I store them they are fading along the edges.
For this card I used Bordering blue and Not Quite Navy.
The stamp is an OLD Flourishes A Year In Flowers 1.  I have used all but
one of the flowers for this set now and it makes me happy!
The pansies were stamped in Dew Drop Teal Zeal ink as well as the
The Greetery birthday stamp.  The scalloped background is a Cottage Cutz die.
The embossing folder I used is a 3d Honey Bee Spring Medley folder.

We would love to see you at Can You Handle The Pressure challenge blog!

Happy Birthday To Ewe

A new challenge starts today at Can You Handle The Pressure
with an OPTIONAL theme of KIDS Cards!
However, you can create anything as long as an embossing folder has been used,
that is a MUST!!

I had created another card but the more I thought about it the less
I was thrilled with it so I made this fun kids lamb card.
I've seen a few different designs of these around blogland
using various products and decided to create my own.
I have to mention my little 'ewe' is a bit cross eyed,
just the way the two black spots in his eyes 'rest',
but it gives her , her own personality.

Products used were:
Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circle (largest & smallest)
SU Punches for ears, face and legs
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder
A few die cut flowers
and a scrap of designer paper.

The ewe was created to open, so it is adhered to a card panel
as shown below.

We hope you will come and have some embossing fun with us at
Can You Handle The Pressure!!

Birthday Cheer

At Can You Handle The Pressure our new OPTIONAL theme is
SEWING but you can create anything as long as an
Embossing  folder is used, that is a must!!

I went with the sewing theme and used a never been used before
EB folder that I have had forever and have never heard of this company
before, Design Objectives.  I have two cards created with this folder
as the first one I did seemed too light to capture the embossing,
but the same result with the second one, I think I am so used to
the 3D embossing and how deep embossed those are that I have
forgotten how light the regular EB folders are.

Card #1
The background color is really a pretty darker lavender
then the color it is showing, sometimes it is really hard to
get 'true' colors when photographing the cards!
Both cards use sentiments from Woodware 'I Meant to'.

Card #2

Our challenge at Can You Handle The Pressure
is a good one to make you get those folders out
and USE them!!

Simple Sympathy cards

We have a new challenge starting today at Can You Handle The Pressure where we are all about embossing folders. An embossing folder MUST BE used to enter out challenge

I was asked by a friend several months ago to make her several
sympathy cards and saw these on the Honey Bee blog using the
Chinoiserie embossing folder which totally inspired me
and decided to give it a go!  It also inspired me to purchase the
beautiful embossing folder from Simon Says.

I have a small basket on my work table that I have pulled out
several scraps of paper that I am trying to use up and all
four of these papers are from that basket!

That's it for me today, and I still have a bit of these papers left, sigh!

It's Your Day

We have a new challenge starting today at
Can You Handle The Pressure
the challenge that is all about embossing folders.
I love all the new embossing folders that are now available
including all the 3D that really stand out,
I have to admit I  have quite a nice collection of them myself.

The OPTIONAL theme is Die Cuts.
An easy theme for me as I have several EB folders that came with
a die along with the folder to die cut a portion of the folder to use
any way you want.  Simon Says Stamps has many of these to
choose from and so do I...using the Terrace Floral embossing folder
and die, after embossing the panel twice I used the matching die
to die cut the center floral and leaf, colored in with ink left on my
brushes.  I added a few Sue Wilson mini butterflies and a
Spellbinders Betterpress sentiment..

This is a GREAT challenge to make you use your own
embossing folders so come and join us!

Time To Celebrate

Hello friends, it's time for our challenge at
Can You Handle The Pressure
where we are all about embossing folders, you MUST use an
embossing folder for this challenge.

We have an OPTIONAL theme of ALL White cards,
but also we are an anything goes challenge so any EB folder is okay!

Last summer I purchased a new embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp
Seedhead Stems and it is gorgeous.  It makes a larger card then I am used to
but that's okay as I surely didn't want to lose any of the beautiful image
by trimming it off.  I love the sentiment from The Greetery as it can be used
for a birthday, anniversary or any celebration.

We would love to have you come and join our challenge
at Can You Handle The Pressure.

with a never been used before Sizzix embossing folder Flowing Waves.
I added a sentiment from Stampendous True Friends.
The butterfly came from my already die cut stash.

Let It Snow

Hello friends, our Can You Handle The Pressure challenge
begins today with an OPTIONAL theme of
WINTER BLUES!
I think we all have a bit of blues after the holidays wind down and
those of us that live in the BRRR part of the country are wishing for Spring!

Our challenge is all about using your embossing folders,
wet embossing is okay but you MUST use an embossing folder too!

My folder is an oldie and one I use often in the winter months from Darice,
probably one of the first folders I bought when I started out card making along with the dotted swiss folder!
I think the embossing world has been a game changer now
with the option to choose 3D folders
making our challenge a hit!!
I had saved a 'negative' from one of my snowflake die cuts
thinking it was pretty enough to use on it's own.
I added P13 North Pole paper underneath and a sentiment stamped
from The Ton Easy Expressions Holiday.

So, get those folders out and come on over to
Can You Handle The Pressure and have
some embossing fun with us!

Much Love

Hello friends, we have an easy OPTIONAL theme at
Can You Handle The Pressure and it is
ANY Holiday!

It's optional and you can create any embossed card
but it is Required that you use an embossing folder!

I chose to go with Valentine's Day for my holiday card giving me
a break from the Christmas/Holiday cards!
I purchased this embossing folder in January of 2025 and it is a beauty
from Simon Says called Dotted Hearts.
I used some very old Core' dinations papers on both cards so I could
sand them and really make the hearts and dies stand out.
The sentiment is an OLD woodblock from the dollar bins that
Michaels used to have.  I embossed with Versamark using an
embossing powder from when SNS was in business, it is called Amour, so pretty.
The hearts came with the embossing folder and are die cut from scraps.

Thank You

We are back at Can You Handle The Pressure with another
OPTIONAL challenge theme is and it is THANKS.
Our challenge requires you to use an embossing folder,
wet embossing is permitted but you MUST use an EB folder too.

I used a pretty Spellbinders Falling Leaves folder embossed on a
cream card stock.  I saw the design for this card on Pinterest HERE,
and it was a good find as the blog it is on is a technique blog of sorts,
one that I will be visiting again and again, you should check it out.

I totally used scraps for the rest of my card and die cutting several different
scalloped Tutti Designs squares.  A SU punch was used for the center
and topped with a Tutti Designs scalloped circle.  The Thank You sentiment
is an oldie from My Daily Bread.  I tied a piece of
waxed cotton cord and topped it with one of my homemade flowers.

We would love to see your embossed cards over at
Can You Handle The Pressure!!

Warm Cup of Tea

At Can You Handle The Pressure challenge our
OPTIONAL theme is Food and/or Drinks.
Our challenge requires you to use an embossing folder
which I am sure many of you have plenty of.

I picked up this fun Sizzix Silverware embossing folder during one of
their sales.  I embossed it on a silver metallic paper giving it a real
silver shine.  I added a vellum Spellbinders Scalloped oval with a
Cheapo Dies tea pot die cut from a rosy metallic paper.
The sentiment is from SU's Tea Together stamp set,
given to me by a friend.

We would love to see YOUR embossing folders at our challenge too!!

Hello My Dear Friend

It's that time again for a new challenge at Can You Handle The Pressure
with an OPTIONAL theme of Orange and/or Pumpkins.
We are an anything goes challenge but an embossing folder is a MUST!

I went with orange for my card but have to say this was a cluster of disasters
from the get go!  This is a Lisa Horton stencil and embossing folder set
Cinnamon Sticks and Oranges.  I usually stencil first then fit into the
embossing folder and it comes out perfect., not this time though.

I pulled the stencils straight out of the package and started in,
big mistake as they were  put in there upside down but little did I know until
I got about to the 3rd stencil (and they aren't numbered in use order either
like the other layered stencils I use are).  This resulted in a couple of stencils
being used not in the correct order, but I figured it out and kept going.

But because they were flipped wrong side up it made my stenciling
not fit in the EB folder correctly to emboss, so I now have the debossed side up.
resulting in the look I have here, not happy at all but after all the work
of the stenciling I went with it...live and learn as they say!!

The sentiment is a die/stamp set from Spellbinders
'A Little Hello Sentiments'.

Hope to see you at Can You Handle The Pressure.

Beautiful Autumn

Today at Can You Handle The Pressure challenge our OPTIONAL theme is
Fall Harvest, meaning anything fall, but of course we are an anything goes
challenge and the theme is always optional but the use of an embossing folder is a MUST!

I used a beautiful Lisa Horton Acorns and Pinecones EB folder
for the first time on a dark chocolate card stock.  The image and sentiment are
Graphic 45 press ons (rub ons as I call them) Autumn Greetings.
I left this card simple as I really wanted all the pretty embossing to shine it's pretty head!!

We would love to have you get out those EB folders and join
us at our Can You Handle The Pressure challenge.

Acorns & Leaves

Hello friends, at Can You Handle The Pressure we have a NEW
OPTIONAL theme and it is Trees and/or Leaves.
We are an anything goes challenge though as long as you use an
embossing folder which is a MUST!
This challenge encourages you to get those EB folders out and
put them to use.  With so many new ones on the market and the awesome
3D folders, it's a pretty easy challenge!

I first inked up a panel with a few fall-ish colors of  Distress inks
Fossilized Amber, Shabby Shutters, Abandoned Coral, and Carved Pumpkin.
I embossed with a Spellbinders Falling Leaves folder.
A die cut from Tutti Designs Stitched Nesting Banners was cut from
Lawn Fawn Fruit Salad paper.  I added a twine bow and a cute
Tutti Designs Oak Sprig colored with Copics and ink.
I might add a sentiment later if I can find one that looks like it belongs
on the card front!

We hope to see you and your embossing folders at
Can You Handle The Pressure!
