Sweet Birthday

It's time for our second challenge at Double D and our new theme is
Your FAVORITE FRUIT
meaning we want to see some sort of fruit on your card.

We have a 'fruit-y' mood board for inspiration but you can create
with any fruit of your choice!

I don't think I have 'met' a fruit yet that I don't 'love',
but I chose CHERRIES for my card.
Michigan is known for their sweet AND sour cherries
and has a cherry festival each year in Traverse City,
a festival during my high school years that I never missed,
oh, the memories LOL!!

For my card I pulled out a never been used before Avery Elle
Cherry On Top stamp and die set.  It's a fun die that cuts out
an outer edge separate for the cherry's.  I opted not to use
the cherry stamps other then the sentiment
but just the dies and to die cut my cherries
from a polka dot paper, cut them apart and inked the front most
cherry to give a bit of definition.
A small posy and twine bows were added.
The background paper is Echo Park A Slice of Summer (2021).

Let's see YOUR 'citrus' over at Double D and check our all the
beautiful inspiration from the design teams.

Tomorrow's Forecast

It's July 1st on the first Wednesday of the month and that means a new challenge
beginning today at Double D!
Our fun theme is POTPOURRI
meaning you can create with anything you see on our mood board below.
It can be the images, objects, colors, shapes
just let your mind go wild, but make sure to tell us
what inspired you from the board

OMGosh you all, I cased the cutest card from Pinterest HERE.
I mean the layout/design is the same but the products used are very different.
Before we get into that, this blog where I saw the card has the cutest designs ever
but has nothing on her blog or instagram since April 2024.  Do you ever
wonder why they quit, I mean her creations are so very NICE, I sure hope
everything is okay in her life.
Back to MY card.  I used for the first time a Kat Scrapiness Slimline rainbow/clouds die
I have had in my stash for quite sometime and this is it's debut.
Aren't hose puffy clouds just the cutest?  I decided to make an A2 card instead
of a slimline, so after die cutting I adhered each piece to the front then cut off any
extra hanging over the edge of the card.  Each rainbow piece
was colored in with the broad tip of my Copics, worked
perfect on each strip.
My cloud background was made with a  Lawn Fawn Cloudy stencil.
I gave the link as this stencil is only $7 and worth every penny!
The sentiment is an oldie from Flourishes and the glitter hearts are
stickers from my stash.

I think this card will be great for someone that has had a bit
of turmoil in their life or even for someone not feeling well.
Come over to Double D and join us for some Potpourri FUN!!

Tropical Challenge at Double D

Hey all, it's time for a new challenge theme at Double D and it is
TROPICAL

We have a pretty tropical mood board to inspire you,
but you can create anything as long as it is TROPICAL!!

So this year you will probably see a lot of different types of cards
then I normally make, in that I am really really trying to use up some things
this year.  One of the things sitting in my to 'use' basket were these
The Paper Studio stickers I bought from Hobbylobby back in 2018.
Hah, can you believe they have been in that basket for EIGHT years!
Egads,  about time I did something with them.
I let not only the colors but the upper right photo inspire me
and guess what?  I used up every single one of those stickers and ended up with FOUR cards!
Yes, I am an over achiever' LOL!!  But, it felt GOOD to use them all!

First card and card for the challenge I used the Waffle Flower postage die that I laid
a Waffle Flower block stencil over and an Ink N Splatter Wavy Stripes stencil over that
and inked with Altenew Winter Lake on a My Colors Blue Mist card stock.
In fact, all the card fronts were created with the same Blue Mist.  The wavy stencil
reminded me of water.  Waffle Flower postage dies were also used.

For my second and third cards I used The Ton postage die, cut it apart and added an
appropriate size sticker to each.  I also used some never before used embossing folders, (or used only once),
Echo Park Ride The Wave and Cuttlebug Give A Hoot (that one reminded me of waves).

#3

For the fourth card I once again used pieces cut from The Ton Postage die
to fit my whales, a Spellbinders Betterpress sentiment and a SU Decor Dots
embossing folder that looked like bubbles in the sea (imagination here)!
A few glitter  hearts were added and I am putting this in my anniversary stock pile!

Thank you if you stuck with me thru all my babble
and be sure to join us for our fun challenge at

Big Beautiful Bow

We have a fun new challenge starting today at Double D and it is
BOWS
and as always we have a fun mood board for you for inspiration,
plenty of beautiful inspiration on our blog too!

I had plenty to choose from for this challenge but went with
The Greetery's Big Beautiful Bow die, it has always been a favorite of mine
and makes for a pretty card.  Because when cutting two different colors you
end up with two bows, so I created a second card.
I die cut all the pieces from scraps of papers.  the background paper is
Paper Rose Violet Dreams, a pack of paper with gorgeous violet prints.
I added a few die cut and finished Spellbinders flowers from my stash
trying to use them up, but of course once they are gone I will just make more!!
The colors are MORE lavender then shown, it's a hard color to photograph the
true colors it seems.

Happy Birthday Splatters

Double D has a new challenge theme starting today and it is
SPLATTER .

We have a mood board for inspiration as well as two teams of
wonderfully fun inspiration, make sure to check them out!!

For my splatter card I had a scrap of 'splattered' green paper
making the perfect background for my Poppystamps Marcelle Flower die.
I die cut in all white scraps them blended ink in from my brushes.
The sentiment is Hero Arts Ribbon Messages stamped directly onto
the card front.  A few fun sequins were added.

Happiness

Today our challenge theme at Double D is
WATERCOLOR.

We have a watercolor inspiration board and plenty more inspiration
from the design teams at the challenge blog.

I pulled out a few very old things for my card.  I die cut a watercolor paper
using a Poppystamps Flower Field Frame (2022) then used my very old
Tim Holtz Distress watercolor markers.  I was pleased that they still even worked!!
It was a long process and they are far from perfect but in the end made a pretty card.
The sentiment is Sparkle & Sprinkles (retired company) Happiness Greetings stamp.
I added Glitter Emerald Green Nuvo Drops to the flower centers, giving a bit of sparkle.
1 small heart from my spare parts was also added.

Tea Cup Full of Flowers

Double D has a new challenge theme going and it is
COFFEE OR TEA
with a mood board for inspiration!

I don't have actual coffee OR tea but I do have a TEA CUP full of
beautiful flowers.  It is a Sizzix die called Tea Time.
I die cut all pieces from scraps of white card stock then colored them in
with either inks or Copics.  The tea cup and the embossed back piece is
Core'dinations paper that I sanded and embossed with a Simon Layered Vine
EB folder.  Once I use a folder I write 'front' on the front so I know which side is
up at a glance as it does make a difference when using the core'dinations papers.
I used a Cheery Lynn Designs doily die, the first doily die I ever purchased.  A pretty card for Spring!!

Laughter The Best Medicine

Today at Double D we have a new challenge theme and it is a funny one,
HUMOR!!
We want you to make us laugh and have a silly mood board for inspiration!

I used a stamp set I have seen around various challenges but I have never
used before.  It's a stamp from Paper Rose Laughing Animals.  It was colored with
various Copics and Altenew alcohol markers.  A few gold half pearls were added.

Come and have some laughs with us at Double D!!

Happy Easter

Double D is feeling like Easter these next two weeks and that is our theme
EASTER!

We have an inspiration board that will hopefully inspire you to play along!

From All Of Us

We have a fun new challenge theme for the next two weeks at
Double D  and it is Books/Bookmarks and/or Postage/Postal.

We also have a fun inspiration board plus plenty of beautiful
inspiration over on the DD blog.

As you have probably seen on my blog before I love the Waffle Flower
postage dies, stencils ands stamps, am very addicted to them and have several now.
The one I am using today is Postage College Rose stencil, my first time using it
and I have to say it was one of the easiest with only three layers!  The stamps are
also WF Postage College stamp set, other then the sentiment which is
Spellbinders Betterpress.
I used the Distress ink colors listed in one of the WF samples and was happy
with the mix.  They are Distress Peeled Paint, Rustic Wilderness, Barn Door,
Aged Mahogany and Scattered straw.

We would love to have you come and join us at Double D
with your take on our challenge!!

You Always Know

We are into our second challenge already this month at
Double D  with a theme of Signs Of Love
and a mood board for inspiration!

Card #1

I had to really give some thought of what I wanted to do for this theme
and ended up one night 'cruising' on Pinterest for ideas and came across
a cute card with tiny envelopes and that triggered my mind to an OLD
QuicKutz tiny envelope die I had.  It die cuts the little envelope and the
tiny heart to seal it.  I added another 'oldie', a sentiment from
See-D's Card Wishes stamp set.  I also added a few tiny glitter hearts randomly.

Card #2

After creating the card above I came across this stamp set
given to me by a friend that I thought was even more perfect.
It is a company I have never heard of Storage Units Ink & More.
Have you ever heard of them?  It must be really really old as
there is no name nor even a UPC on the package, maybe it was
a free one with a magazine or something?
Anyhow it's very cute for our theme so I went with it!
Colored with Copics and Olos and I had a few
kraft hearts on my desk from another project
so I added those too, the sentiment is part of the
stamp set mentioned above.

We would love to see YOU over at our
Double D challenge.

Vintage Happy Birthday

At Double D our new theme for the next couple weeks is
Shabby Chic/Vintage!  We have a pretty mood board representing just that,
you can create either vintage OR shabby chic.

I have to say I  did not at all do what I had intended to do for this challenge
but went a whole different direction.
Several years ago I had a love for all the dress form stamps and ended up
collecting quite a few of them but of course never inked them up too much.
I pulled all of them out and decided on this one as it had a nice vintage 'flare' to it.
Prima (2012) and there is no name on the set but has 5 fun rubber stamps in all.
I just lightly colored it in places and layered it with some Tutti Designs
scalloped rectangles.  The sentiment is one left over from my Katy Sue 3D cards.

We would love to have your shabby chic/vintage creations over at
Double D!!

Hello Friend

It's time for our second challenge this month at
Double D and the theme is FRIENDS.
We have a friends 'mood' board for inspiration.

As a pet owner and how I LOVE my pets dearly I think of my
dear dog Mack as one of my best friends, he is always happy to see me
and is all smiles with everyone he meets so that is where my idea
for my image came from and also the Penny Black Gentle Thoughts
stamp set which is a new one for me.  The sentiment is Spellbinders Little Hello Sentiments.
The die cuts are Tutti Designs.

Here are a few pictures of my Mr. Mack, Mr. Smiley himself
Yes, we let him sit on the sofa, hence the blanket.
He is eight years old and weighs 68#s.
Look at those long legs!!

He scares people with his smile, I don't know why??

Happy Birthday Double D

It's our TENTH birthday at Double D, can you believe we have been
going strong for TEN whole years?
We are having a celebration with a great prize for one lucky random winner

Mosey on over to the Double D blog to see what it is and celebrate with us!
We have a fun birthday board for inspiration!!
Oh, and if you haven't guessed by now our theme is BIRTHDAYS!

I have to admit I made these cards pretty early last year and wasn't even sure
if I was going to use them, but after a few weeks of sitting around I guess they
kind of grew on me.  I used the Balloon Bouquet stamp & die set from The Greetery
plus their Twisted Crepe die.  I added lots of enamel dots I received free from
Altenew with an order.

I created a second card but kept it a bit simpler using the same stamp and
die set I mentioned and linked above.

Come on over to Double D and have some BIRTHDAY
fun with us!!

Christmas Cheer

Hello friends, today at Double D we have our last challenge for 2025
and the theme is Santa's and/or Snowmen.
We have a fun and festive mood board for inspiration with the
jolly old fellow and some fun snowmen!

In the summer of 2024 I purchased a fun 12x12 Reminience paper collage of Santa.
I cut each Santa to use on fast cards.

It's a really neat paper of Santa's in all sizes.
I die cut a Waffle Flower postage die then cut it apart and used some of the smaller Santa
pieces on each postage piece.  These Santa's remind so much of the vintage Christmas
cards we used to get as a kid, maybe that is why this paper appealed to me so much!
I used a Hero Arts Christmas greeting , added some sparkle-y gems and a twine bow.

Come on over to Double D and join us and the amazing design team

Christmas Wrappings

Hello friends, today we have a super fun theme for our challenge at
DOUBLE D and it is
CHRISTMAS WRAPPINGS.
It includes all the items mentioned below and we have a
festive mood board for inspiration too!

(Christmas bows, ribbons, tags, packages,
xmas designer paper counts as xmas wrapping paper
just have fun with it)

I am almost embarrassed to admit this but I purchased this fun
Wrapped In Love die/stamp set during their 2023 release
and this is the first time I have used it.
There are lots of stamps and dies to this set and it came together pretty easily.
I had die cut all the pieces then went to bed and made this card the next day,
but several of the pieces had disappeared overnight, where did they go, does that happen to you?
So I just used what was still there  Crazy isn't it?
This will be a fun set to use with the holiday paper scraps too!
Edited to add:  This is a The Greetery stamp and die set!

Come over to Double D and join our Christmas Wrappings challenge,
we would love to have you!

Autumn Greetings

Hello friends, at Double D we have a new theme and it is FALL COLORS
with a fall-ish colorful mood board for inspiration!

I used an adorably cute fall Graphic 45 rub-on (Autumn Greetings) for my card,
I think it is just the sweetest!!  The sentiment is also a rub-on.
If you haven't seen their rub-ons check them out as they are wonderful quality!
The background paper is from an 8x8 piece that has been sitting around in my
paper stash forever, die cut with a Spellbinders die.
I added a few gold half pearls
for a bit of shine.

The design team at Double D has some gorgeous fall creations,

Thinking Of You

Hello Double D friends, it is once again time for a new challenge
and a new challenge theme at Double D
and it is FALL WREATH.

We have a pretty mood board of wreaths for inspiration!

I started with a die cut Waffle Flower Lacy die background using a paper
from DCWV Harvest House, a 6x6 pad I am trying to use up.
The wreath is Tutti Designs Leafy wreath that I inked with various Altenew inks.
The bow sentiment is The Greetery Put A Bow On It stamp and die.

We would love to see your pretty fall wreaths at Double D!
