Pumpkin Patch

Today is a rather sad day for the Dies R Us team
as this will be our last card for the DRU challenge
as it is being closed permanently and I have been
part of it for a long long time as well as on
the DRU  Inspiration team.

For my last card I used a favorite die/stencil from PoppyStamps that
I have used before but thought it was time to bring it out again
'Autumn Leaves Sidekick Frame and Stencil'.

After die cutting, I placed the stencil over the top and used all
Tim Holtz Distress inks for my leaves
spiced marmalade, fired brick, mustard seed and peeled paint.
I adhered the finished piece to a piece of paper from Echo Park
and used another print piece from the same pad for within my frame.

I hope to see you at the Dies R Us challenge blog and
join in for our very last challenge...thanks for visiting!!

Swimming By

Here we are halfway thru July already and that brings us to a new
challenge theme today starting at Dies R Us and the theme is
SUMMER!

I created an easy summer card starting first by using the
Tutti Designs Dotted Nesting Circles to cut my background circles
using just the negative part, I can always use the die cut circles for another project.

I die cut 3 coral pieces using Catherine Pooler Ocean Chums die, there is a stamp
for the coral as well but I chose to just add a bit of color with Copics, but I did use
the stamp set for the sentiment!

The fish are Poppystamps Whittle Fish and sorry to say no longer available
in the store, but they do have a fish trio that would be just as cute to use!

I added some Pink Fresh Studio and Pretty Pink Posh gems for bubbles
and extra sparkle!

Head on over to the Dies R Us blog and see all the fun summery
creations from the design team and join in with us too!

Layered Cosmo's

Happy July first!!
It brings us to a new challenge theme at Dies R Us
and the theme is SUMMER!

Nothing speaks summer to me like a garden full of pretty posies
so that is exactly what I went with for my DT card!

Memory box released some new dies in May and the Layered Cosmos was one of them!
I used Tim Holtz distress inks Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and
Cracked Pistachio with blending brushes for my flowers.

For the leaves I die cut 6 from the Lawn Fawn Hibiscus set.
I also used Precious Marieke Flowery Branch under the flowers
for more 'greenery'!

The die cut HUGS greeting is a Tutti Designs word set
which doesn't seem to be in store anymore
but I gave a link for another HUGS die below that is
very similar to the one I used!
All of this was arranged on a Cricut EB folder panel.

I cut the flowery branch again and snipped it in two,
placing one piece under the smaller flower and the other piece inside the card.

Here is a list and links of the dies I used:

Berry Happy Birthday

A new challenge at Dies R Us and our theme is
Anything Goes as long as you use a die
from a company that DRU carries!

For my card I used the fun Lawn Fawn Fruit Basket and Strawberry Patch dies.
These strawberries are so fun to work with as is the basket and I know I will
us them many times more!

For the base of my card I die a yellow gingham using the
Tutti Designs Stitched Nesting rectangles (the largest one in the set of 8)!
The banner was cut with a Spellbinders die (now discontinued).
All the links are given below.

Aren't these plump red strawberries just delicious?

July Celebrate

This month at Dies R U we have an ANYTHING GOES
challenge for our theme.  You can use die if Dies R Us
carries that company's stock in store!

I always try to stay within the month I am in
and this month to me is all about the good old
red~white and blue!

I used Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Banners and die cut one in
each of the colors mentioned above.  I added Tutti Designs Nesting
Stitched Stars, using the smallest in the set

I also did the same with the Tutti Designs Word Celebrate
and slightly off set them as adhered them together.
This particular die is no longer available but I did give
a link below to the 'general' list of celebrate dies
and there are several very similar!

Nautical Masculine Card

We are at our second challenge for the month of June at
Dies R Us
and are continuing on with our Dads/Masculine theme for this month,
a good time to get those 'guy' cards made for when you need them!

Being the middle of June I was feeling a bit summery and went with a
nautical card for my guys!
Four Stitched squares were die cut using Tuttii Designs Stitched Nesting Squares
and one stitched rectangle from Tutti Designs Stitched Rectangles.
A small nautical Impression Obsession icon was placed in each one.
A twine bow was added to finish!

For You

We have a new challenge theme this month at Dies R Us
and it's all about the Dad's or Masculine Guys in your life

I decided to create a fun 'shirt' card starting first with some plaid paper from my stash!
For the collar I die cut a Tutti Designs Stitched Banner and just snipped off the
banner ends to give a tailored collar look,
The pockets were Cheapo Dies Pocket Bouquet and once again created by just snipping off
the parts I didn't need, being the flowers in this case!
I put a For You stamped sentiment in the pocket using a small snipped piece from the smallest
die in the Tutti Designs Stitched Rectangle set.
The buttons are Impression Obsession and being die cut from paper
they make an easy mailer with no bulk!

Celebrating You Today

We ae to our second challenge of the month for
Dies R Us
and once again the theme is ANYTHING GOES
as long as you use a die company that Dies R Us carries.

The flower for May is Lily of the Valley and was also the month of my
Moms' birthday so this card makes me think of her, I miss her so!
I used a couple of Tutti Designs Nesting dies,
the Cross Stitched Nesting Ovals and Cross Stitched Banners.
The flowers are Cheapo Dies Lily of the Valley Bunch
That were cut from green card stock scraps and then from white
card stock and paper pieced on.
I also added a few fun Nuvo drops and a twine bow to finish!

Tulip Window

Happy May 1st!  time for a new challenge theme at
Dies R Us and it is anything goes!

We still have tulips blooming here in early May in my part of Michigan
and as much as I love tulips I decided to base my card around them!
I also long gingham and use that as a background by die cutting a
Tutti Designs Nesting Scalloped Rectangle.
The tulip frame is also by Tutti Designs and is Tulip Window.
It was cut from a green card stock scrap then I cut just the flowers
from a card stock leftover inked piece giving me some fun colors for  the tulips.
These were paper pieced on along with the butterfly, which is part of the
window frame.

Hello

We are partnering with the Double Trouble Challenge Blog again this year and having a joint challenge collaboration.  It's fun and easy and you have a chance to win prizes both here on the DRU Challenge as well as the Double Trouble Challenge #108! The Double Trouble Challenge runs from April 18 - May 1 and their theme is "Frame It" - use a basic metal die in your project.

Here are the options to include if you want to join the Double Trouble challenge. You can enter the Double Trouble "Frame It" challenge #108 here.

Thing 1:  Trouble Maker (Double Trouble Challenge)
says, "How many of us have a Cricut or similar machine that sits idle?  Since the world of metal dies has emerged how often do you pull out your Cricut to cut a basic shape?  It seems most of us have accumulated some dies and now use a die cutter (Cuttlebug, Big Shot, Gemini).  I'm challenging you to select a basic-shaped metal die from your stash and use it on your project, e.g. frame, square, rectangle, triangle for your image and/or sentiment...  you get the idea.

You can stop here...
OR
play along with Twisted Sister's optional twist below to earn another chance in the Double Trouble random draw.

Thing 3:  Twisted Sister  (Double Trouble Challenge)
says, "It isn't difficult for me to pick out a shaped metal die for a frame and/or sentiment but I have accumulated so many other pretty metal dies.

"Mother's Day is around the corner... this is a good time to honor your Mom or someone special who has had an impact on your life.  My optional twist is to include flower(s) and/or butterfly(s) on your project. I'm going to use some of my pretty dies, however, if you don't have floral or butterfly dies, just use patterned paper, stenciling, or embossing.

Optional Twist:  If you have included flowers and/or butterflies on your project you will earn another chance in the Double Trouble Random Draw.

Thing 2: Double Dare (DRU Challenge)
says, "If you have included at least one metal die on your project you are eligible to enter at Dies R Us #191 HERE. There is a limit of three entries and make sure you post your entry on or before April 28th and you will be eligible for an extra Double Trouble random draw chance. The theme is Flowers/Spring.

AND...
If you have used any brand of dies that Dies R Us sells in their store, you will be eligible for an extra Double Trouble random draw chance as well as a chance to win the DRU $10 gift code prize.  Your die may already qualify. Click HERE to view the dies on their left-hand sidebar. Be sure to mention in your post if you used a die that is sold at DRU's store for a chance the DRU random draw.

SO basically the options for winning prizes are:
Thing 1: Use a basic shaped metal frame die to enter the Double Trouble challenge.
Thing 2: Use a metal die that DRU sells and include the theme Spring/Flowers to enter the DRU challenge and the random draw from Double Trouble.
Thing 3: Use a metal frame die and add a flower or butterfly to project for another entry to the Double Trouble challenge.

A new challenge at Dies R Us and our theme is
Flowers/Spring!

I don't know about you  but I am certainly ready to see Spring AND flowers!
It's been a long hard bitter cold winter here in Michigan so I went with a happy yellow card
with some pretty daisies from Cheapo dies.
I first die cut from a green card stock then again in white and paper pieced
the flowers on,  I used the Tutti Designs Dotted Ovals for my
pretty daisies to frame them with!
The sentiment is a Tutti Designs Hello word set which seems to be
discontinued but I have provided a link below for ALL the Hello dies
carried in the store!
