Shabby Goodness Meets Fancy Fold

Happy Friday to you all.....
can you believe April is almost gone.....
time really does fly it seems....
today I have a bit of "shabby goodness" to share with you.....
I made a "two way" open card......
what is so neat about this, is that the flower holds it all shut.....
this week at Sugar Creek Hollow, the challenge was to make a "Fancy Fold" card
I used to make this style of card a few years back and it was fun to recreate with it again....
the cardstock is SU Marina Mist......the Designer Paper I am in love with...
it is Beau Chateau also from SU....
the flower is Prima
the shabby seam binding ribbon is some I made with Tattered Angels Spray....
The little bird is from KC Company...it came from Joann's, and they have a wonderful new line of the shabby little cutouts.....

Butterfly Butterfly ~

This week the challenge at Joan's Gardens is butterflies~Scallops or Lattice~yellow or gold, and pattern paper background....
I had fun making my butterflies....I stamped with Versamark on Vellum cardstock, embossed with a white embossing powder.....
the half butterfly is a new stamp from Technique Tuesday called "Take Flight".....
the bigger butterfly is from an old stamp I have had "forever"!
My flowers are still wet with stickles, they will look  better (I hope) when dry...
I used the Sizzix 3D die for them...
for my scallops I used two new products I just received from Joan last week.....
Spellbinders Classic Edges One and JustRite Classic Lace Edges One.....
I also wanted to mention some exciting news......
I entered Joan's challenge for a spot for a guest designer for a blog hop on May 15th....
and guess what.....I MADE it.....
I can hardly wait to see what we will be creating.....

Grandma's Attic

I just received this new JustRite background stamp from Joan's Gardens called
"Grandma's Attic"
It is so vintage and detailed.....
I just love it...
I had intended to tie a small scissors charm on, but for the life of me couldn't find it
so had to settle for the glitter heart.....
I stamped the image on some designer paper and then machine stitched around it.....
the sentiment is hand stitched with a varigated thread.......

Felt Flower Fun

I had the bright idea today to try and use one of the Cheery Lynn dies to cut felt.....
I used Cuties 2 and it cut like a dream........
the felt I used was a good quality I bought from a local quilt store.....
my only hint is, that since the felt is thicker then paper, it is picky to work with....
but I just glued a bit as I rolled the flower......
I am entering this for my last entry in the Joan's Garden challenge....
to make a flower with a punch or die....
and also in the Cheery Lynn Challenge to use a cheery Lynn die.....
the doily die is my very first one I purchased from Joan.......
both it and the leaf (flower stacker 1 leaf) are Cheery Lynn dies, too

the sentiment is one from Nichole Heady at Papertrey Ink
.

Happy Mother's Day Card

I am way ahead of the game for Mother's Day....
so unusual for me, as I am a "go by the seat of my pants" type of gal....
it almost scares me...lol!!
I made this card using a bit of lace trim that I received from Flourishes....
oh my, isn't it beautiful??
I gathered around the edge and sewed it together to create my flower....
The sentiment is also from Flourishes.....

the challenge is a bingo card.....
I used blue (the tiny bling) flowers (my lacey flower) and emboss....
you can scroll on down to see the card I made for my Mom for her birthday on May 6th.....

Casual Fridays Simple Sketch CFC49

Just a simple card I made with the sketch from Casual Fridays.....
a very simple card using the Tim Holtz film strip ribbon and a camera stamp....

For Mom

I have to tell ya...I LOVE how this card turned out.....
I also LOVE these dies...
I could sit and make dozens of these tiny gorgeous little flowers...
in every color....in fact, I think I will!!!
I used 4 different Cheery Lynn flower dies.....
Cuties 1~2~3 and the minature rose die.....
I also made my own inked seam binding in the lovely teal blue using some Tattered Angels
spray mist.....
it's a bit hard to see, but I made a "doily pocket"
for the flowers.....
This card is for my Mom for her 85th birthday on May 6th...
I know she is going to love it.....
I am entering this in the flower challenge at Joans Gardens
and also in the for Mom challenge at the Cheery Lynn Designs blog....
and in The Shabby Tea Room "April Showers"
and all these dies were and can be purchased from Joans Gardens if interested!!
