Hoppin' Long The Bunny Trail

Good Saturday morning to you!!

I was up at the crack of dawn thanks to the cat rummaging around in my closet
and who knows what she was looking for.....
and the dog pigging my side of the bed....
I just gave up, made a pot of coffee and headed to my creative room!!

I wanted to enter the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge this week (ends tonight)
which is "Easter".
I decided to stick with a traditional, Spring Easter card!
I bought this CLD Large Spring Basket die a long while back...
it comes with the little bunny in the center, so it's like getting 2 dies for one...
However, I realized as many times as I have used this basket die
to hold all my handmade flowers, I never have used it as an Easter basket
that I can remember!!

When I was a child (many moons ago) we had traditional "real" Easter baskets,
not these Sponge Bob, Spider man things you see to day (blah!)
So, I cut my basket out of papers that reminded me of the pretty colors of the
baskets years gone by!!
The center bunny was cut with a "hoarded" velvet yellow paper..yep it has a velvet texture...
a bit of grass was added, and I cut some "eggs" with "Shimmer Sheetz for some
well.... "shimmer"!!
The bow was made with (and I LOVE this die...you must have it) CLD Pretty Pretty Bow die.
I used the CLD Spring Basket Angel wing under the bottom only of my basket
as I wanted to tuck the bunnies, eggs and grass in.
The background is one I just love ...it is SU Decor Dots EB folder..I use it a lot!!
The card base ( I am trying to use my color card stock more and more) is SU YoYo yellow.
I think it came together pretty well.

Blue Sunburst

Another "creative" day at "the nest"!!!
I have been seeing lots of sunburst/starburst cards lately and have been
"itching" to try one.
I saw a few on my friend Lisa's blog and they are gorgeous....
go take a peek as she did embossed ones, too!
I also found the instructions on you tube
and decided instead of looking, I should be creating..lol!

These are very easy to make and a  super way to use up scraps!!
Can't you just imagine all the colors they can be made in??

First one is a rather large one and I used some rarely used, SU Brilliant Blue CS.
Have you noticed lately I have been using lots of my colored card stocks?
I have tons of it...all SU and need to "move" some of it out of here!!
Anyhow, the DS papers are rather new...bad me, didn't grab my scraps....
but I had purchased a gorgeous tablet of paper in all these blue colors
a few months back, and thought they would blend nicely for this type of card!
I added embossing at the bottom , added a die from Joy called "Ribbons and Bows"
you can purchase that HERE at Classy Cards 'n Such.

I finished it off with a pearl in the center...very easy card to mail!

The second card is longer and a bit smaller....
now if you are wondering "why did she put those sequins there?"
It's because as I was placing my sequin on (slightly dipped in crystal effects)
with my handy dandy crafty tweezers, I DROPPED it on the card, right in that spot....
so that is where it stays!!!!
So that is what I have been up to today......see you later!!

Secret Garden.......

How I long for Spring...
Fresh air, birds singing, digging in the dirt
just getting outside into some warm air would be wonderful!!
Well, that's not going to happen today with 6" of new snow on top of
our already mountains of it and our 3 degree temps!!

But, what I can do is create Spring in my creative room...
That is what I did today.....
Actually when I made this card I had a few challenges in mind.
I normally "pick" a challenge that calls to me....
These challenges did just that...
I will list them below...you might want to join in!!

My card honestly was pretty much put together from the "mess"
on my desk....
The base card, already had the Graphic 45 paper and Anna Griffin die on it..
discarded from another project...
So, I built my card on that...
The flowers were left over from another project from a few days ago
I spritzed them with water and "painted" on TH Distress Marker Ripe Persimmon
The flowers were made with TH Tattered Flower Garland...
I used my Susan's Garden Flower tools to shape them
The center of my card, as well as the banner and butterfly are all Graphic 45 papers
and chipboard pieces...see the cute little "round" piece?
It's a requirement for one of the challenges, to use a circle...
the banner I "hand" stitched together with embroidery thread...

The butterfly is 3 deep in layers...I have tried to show you that in the photo below.

Here are the challenges I am entering into:

Joan's Touch challenge #4...use a circle, colors peach and teal, layered butterflies,
product sold at Joan's Gardens  which is Graphic 45 Secret Garden papers
and

Sentimental Journey

Hey All,
My very first challenge post to host as a DT member is live today at
This weeks challenge is "Sentimental Journey"...make a sentiment your focal point.

As soon as I read what the challenge was I knew I wanted to use my Unity
butterfly sentiment stamp.
Only guess what??
In the moving switching of my creative rooms, I have misplaced it.....
Luckily, I found I had an already stamped image of it....
I wasn't planning on using pink, but that is the  ink color it was stamped in...
And I think it turned out gorgeous...meant to be I guess!!

I used my TH Butterflight on the edge die,
and cut various butterflies from punches and dies
from "years old" paper scraps
to add some dimension.

My bow was made with the Zutter Bow It All and some pretty gingham ribbon!!
I embossed the inside of my card with an SU cloud EB folder
The ink I used was SU Melon Mambo...

I hope you will head over to "The Sisterhood" and join in our challenge
and see what the DT has to inspire YOU !!!

Hello Classy Friends!!
Diane here with you today sharing my card for our weekly challenge
and hopefully inspiring you to play along!!

This weeks challenge is "Colors of The Rainbow".....
Lots of wonderful colors to brighten your day!

I had this card in mind for quite some time...
I have to say it is slightly bigger then  a business size envelope....
Good  thing I have the WeR Memory Keepers envelope maker..
I can easily make an envelope to fit!

I have been purchasing some of the most gorgeous card stocks from Beverly...
Wonderful quality, gorgeous colors, and a nice very sturdy weight...
I cut  all my butterflies from these gorgeous papers using
my "new" Joy Butterfly Trio die, using the largest size of the three..
I will list all the colors of the papers at the end of my post with the links for your convenience!!

The stamp I used in also a "newly" just purchased item that Beverly has started to carry.
It is from Impression Obsession stamps "Leap of Faith"...love it,
these stamps are a wonderful "cling" quality!

My card was built on a shimmery white card stock which was mounted onto
Banana Split-Pop Tone acid free 100# card stock,
the yellow butterfly was cut from the same.

Other papers used for the butterflies are:
Bluebell Stardream Metallic acid free 110# card stock
Mandarin Curious Metallic acid free111# cardstock
Stardream Jupiter Metallic acid free 105# card stock
Stardream Punch Metallic acid free 105# card stock

I hope you will join in with our challenge this week!!

Spring Will Get Here Yet!!

I have a pretty quick card for this cold, but bright and sunshiney Sunday here.
I was printing a digital to color for my Mom's birthday in May
when I decided to print a few more...
This image comes from Digital Two For Tuesday...
they have tons of wonderful images taken from old catalogs, books etc.
This image was so fast to color with my Copics...
I know it is hard to tell, but the cup is lightly colored with lavender...so pretty!

I added a little heart lock that has been in my stash for quite awhile....
and my favorite...gingham...ribbon of course...
I kept this card simple as I think the image speaks for itself.....

Don't forget to sign up for my "blog candy"....you will want it!!!
