Old Truck

This is my card for our Father's Day challenge
using the inspiration photo below.

Hi All, Diane with you today
with my card for this weeks challenge which is Father's Day.

I started my card by embossing Crafts Too Leafy Tree.
I wanted a deep impression, so I embossed on a water color paper.

I cut the old truck from Impression Obsession Classic Truck.
The body of the truck, I wanted a nice sheen,
so I used So Silk Glamour Green card stock.
The rails on the back and the tires were cut using
papers int he collection from Classy Fall Card stock bundle.
This bundle is a great way to try these amazing papers,
as you get different colors in the package!

For the hubcaps I used silver sequins.

Here is a side view to give you an idea of the detail this die offers.
I just love this die and it's beautiful detail!

I added an Impression Obsession kitty to the back
and a few Impression Obsession Small Bird Set.

You're So Tweet

Happy Monday!!
Today is a new challenge at the
and our theme this time is
"Flags and/or Banners".

I obviously chose "banners"!
I had a lot of fun with this challenge
starting with a background using
This has become one of my all time favorite embossing folders.

I next decided to get a little bit creative and for my banners I chose
This is a cute set of "tag" dies that have 5 sizes in the set.
I used the two largest for my card.

I decided on the cute little Birde from
Elizabeth Craft Designs Birdie.
I have had this little bird for awhile and was thrilled to
pull him out and use him.
I debated over if I should "perch" him on something
other then the ribbon, but I decided I like him
just like he is!
Isn't he cute?  So plump  and a perfect size!

All the papers you see on the bird/banner
are "snippets" from my stash I am
trying so very hard to use up..right...LOL!

I added a ribbon/bow from Really Reasonable Ribbon
and I was done!

"Sweet Summer" At The Shabby Tea Room

Hi All!!

Before I get to today's card I wanted to mention that
"The Shabby Tea Room" has a Design Team Call out
for  a few new girls.
Interested??
Go HERE and read all about it.
I have to say I am very proud to part of this "shabbylicous " Design Team!

Our theme is "Sweet Summer" using  the inspiration photo.
Doesn't it look yummy?
It has been so hot here, that one of those cool,
refreshing drinks would be good right about now!

Our sponsor is "My Artistic Adventures".
I love working with Heather's digitals, they are so fun!!

I made a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 card, and following the photo,
I added burlap card stock that I sewed on.

Next came a real paper doily.
I received this doily in a package of birthday goodies from my
friend Ros at Mickey's Mom blog.
It was absolutely perfect for my card...thanks Ros!!

The yellow tag is from My Artisitic Adventures,
Isn't it pretty??
You get 6 tags, all different on a page,
she has them in pink, too, as you will see the other DT girls using!

I used a Papertrey Ink Mason Jar die cut from Vellum.
The paper straw you see in the jar is from Paper Sweeties Bubblegum Straws.
The tropical drink and it's little embellishments are from Impression Obsession.
The sentiment is an oldie from SU.

Now head on over to The Shabby Tea Room
and see what the other "shabby girls" have to inspire you
to join in the challenge with us!!

June Roses

This is my post at Classy Cards 'n Such today.
Don't forget if you see something you just have to have,
you can use my code DIANE-10 anytime to save 10%.
Also I would love to have you join in our weekly challenges.

I have a pretty card to share that is made with
the most gorgeous papers from Graphic 45 Time To Flourish
for the background.
This paper is so beautiful, you won't need to embellish
much, as it makes a statement all on it's own!

All I added were a few Roses made with Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms
and colored with Susan's Gardens PanPastels Flower Coloring Kit.
The leaves are light and airy, created with Prima Leaves
and just tucked in among the Roses.

The little tag you see is also from the Time To Flourish Paper.
I wanted to mention this paper pad is a month by month set
and the month I used is June!  I love this paper so much,
that I purchased 2 pads, one to use and one to hoard!

I finished off with a ribbon/bow from my stash!

Thank you for visiting with me today!

A Little Bit "Distressed"

Hi All,
This week at Fussy and Fancy our new challenge is "Distressed" and hosted by Sheryl!
 Our sponsor is Aurora Wings.

I had an entirely different project planned...but
ended up going with a more "softer" look then I had intended.
I used my Zutter DIA for the polka dot paper
which happens to be a Crafty Secrets digital paper
from the Retro Kitchen digital kit....
I love it!

I made this card entirely from bits and pieces from my stash!!

I even grabbed my very neglected "crimper" and crimped a card stock panel.

The little bird panel you see is also from
Crafty Secrets Digital Birds & Blossoms!

Now head on over to the Fussy and Fancy blog and see what gorgeous
creations my "teamies" have to inspire you.
I hope you will join in with us...see you there!!

Duck Pond

This is my blog post at the

Happy Thursday, I hope you are all having a great week so far!!
Today is my day to share my project using  dies from the
Dies R Us online store!

I have to admit, this card is not my usual, as I seem to struggle
with "manly" cards.
But, being it is close to Father's Day, and also being I have "needs"
for "manly" cards time to time,
I thought I would "bite the bullet" and get a little bit creative!

I started by using my very neglected Gelatos and created my
own water color background.
A perfect background for the Die-Namics Duck Pond to "float" on!
I just love this die, it was cut from a recycled packaging material
that the TH Distress stencils arrive on!
I think it gives the ducks a bit of variation of color!

I kept the card simple to mail, by just adding Memory Box Bamboo leaves.
The exact one I used is not in stock anymore, but you can use
Memory Box Tall Bamboo just as easy or try the "Search'
by typing in the word "bamboo" and see all the choices!!

Stop back Monday-Friday for daily NEW inspiration projects from the Design Team.
Want to join in with us?
Then you will want to check out our weekly challenges.
Just by entering, you could be the lucky winner of a gift certificate to the
Dies R Us online store.

Thank you for visiting with me today...
I will see you next Thursday!!

Perfect Picnic!

It's already time for a new challenge at "The Sisterhood of Crafters"
and my "sistah" Terri is our hostess this time around and
she has chosen the theme of  "Goin' Buggy"!
I have to admit
as soon as I read the title my first thought was "Amish buggies".....
I guess that is what happens when you live in "Amish" country..lol!

However, I had a ball making my card for this challenge.
One thing about being on "The Sisterhood" design team
you can create anything you want, with whatever you want,
as long as you stick to the theme!
This gives me a great opportunity to use some of those "older"
things in my stash...I love that!!

Years ago, I had purchased a Longaberger basket stamp from Ebay.
The stamp is dated 2002....
so I decided to make it a picnic basket....
funny thing is, I had just bought a picnic basket die a few weeks ago....
forgot I even had it, until after I had this one stamped and fussy cut out....
oh well, I really think this one is cute, too!

I used a Papertrey gingham stamp and die I have had forever
for my picnic cloth!

Next came the ants.
Do you remember the QuicKutz hand held "squeeze" cutter??
Well, funny story is how I got mine.....
One year the hubby got the bright idea that we shouldn't buy
each other Christmas gifts until AFTER Christmas and we would go shopping
together to get what we really wanted.
Good idea...NOT!!
Now I know Christmas isn't about the gift giving...but hey I was brought  up
with the idea of giving gifts (and receiving) since I was born
(we won't mention how long that is)....
and to not have a gift on Christmas morning...oh my...I pouted for days!!

But, the point of my story is, we went to the scrapbook store and I purchased
my QuicKutz die cutter and these little ants were one of my first dies for it!
Why?  Heck I don't know, maybe they didn't have a lot to choose from...LOL.
Well, anywho...we never will do that stupid "bright idea" of his again....
husbands can learn some things!!!!

I used another older die for my tree and my newer stitched hills dies,
along with snippets of papers from my scrap bins.

I think this card turned out kind of cute...
one of those cards that just makes me "happy"!!

Now head on over to "The Sisterhood" and see what my "sistahs"
have created to inspire you!
Looking forward to seeing your "buggy" cards (not Amish)!!!
