Joy To The world

A funny thing happened while I was shopping at the

Dies R Us store!

I was looking for a globe die,

typed in the word "world"

and in among the globes was this gorgeous

"Joy To The World" die by Cheery Lynn Designs!

It literally "fell" into my cart!!

It is absolutely stunning when cut!

I cut the wreath die 3 times,

once from a darker green paper,

the second from a medium green paper

and the third from a light green paper.

I stacked them, each one slightly offset.

A few red "berries" (pearls) were added.

The Joy To The World was cut

first from a white craft foam,

then from red card stock.

One was glued on the other.

I love how it gives the words dimension!

Last I embossed a small snowflake panel

for the wreath to be adhered to.

Hi there!
Goodness, can you believe we are only 2 weeks away from Halloween?
Better get your Halloween dies ordered and start creating!

Well, anywho, today is the start of our challenge
at Dies R Us challenge blog
and the theme is "Ghoul Friends".

I had a lot of fun making this card.
Quite the cute little Halloween scene!
The card is actually 6" x 6",
allowing me plenty of room for my pumpkin dancers.
Do you suppose they are doing the "monster mash"...lol!

The background paper is from American Crafts.
The dies I used are:
PoppyStamps Stitched Spider Webs
The web die actually does not cut out, it embosses
on your card stock.
I however, hand cut it, and added silver glitter pen on the stitch lines...
very easy to do.

Die-lirious and Punchy Challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters

Today is our new challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Terri is our hostess and she has chosen the theme of

Die-lirious and Punchy, meaning get out those dies and/or

much neglected punches!!

One of the things I love about being on The Sisterhood Design Team is,

it gives me an opportunity to use a few of my wonderful supplies

that I can't use on other DT's as long as I stick to the theme!

During the making of this card, my fellow "sistah" and team mate and friend

Dar was here visiting with me for a few days.

We decided to get together and make a few of our challenge cards together,

making it even more fun!!

I used a gorgeous background paper, used a die to cut the "snow drifts",

(which I added glitter to)....

then comes the fun part...the deer!

A few years ago I purchased a Brenda Walton Sizzlits Strip die

called Woodland Deer.

It cuts an entire row of deer and trees.

I used a partial section of it for my woodsy scene.

I also have to admit, this is the first time I have used it....

just goes to show you I have way too much "stuff"!!

I cut the die twice and paper pieced the trees.

I used 2 old SU round punches for the sentiment.

Lastly a ribbon was added for a pop of color!

Autumn Sky

Diane with you today and I have to tell you

I am very excited about this card!

I love how it turned out!.

This was created for our current challenge we have this week,

which is Colors of Fall!

As soon as I saw the inspiration photo it just screamed

Ken Oliver Color Bursts at me!

There are several techniques to use Color Burst,

my favorite so far is how I did this card.

Using the smoother side of water color paper

I used an Empty Spritzer Bottle to saturate it with water.

Then using 3 colors of Color Burst,

(starting with the lightest to the darkest)

Lemon Yellow, Orange, and Terre Verte,

I puffed the colors on the water.

By puffing I mean, I shake the bottle (with lid on of course)

upside down, open, then just lightly squeeze (puff) onto the paper/water.

A little bit goes a long way, so be careful.

If you get spots of color, just spray with more water 

until you are satisfied with the colors,

you can always add more water, but not remove the color!

I heat set my colors so I could continue on with my card,

but you can set it aside and just let it air dry if you prefer.

I cut a few Impression Obsession Birch Trees,

which I then rubbed a bit of grey ink on.

I cut a fox from Memory Box Fine Foxes,

colored him, then adhered him to the card.

Last I used a piece of Heavyweight Vellum,

ran the Anti Static Bag across it, 

used VersaMark ink on Impression Obsession Autumn Leaves stamp set, 

then sprinkled Apricot embossing on, heat set and I had a pretty fall card!

I wanted to mention that the color bursts can be bought single or

in a set, whichever you prefer.

I purchased my first 2 colors just so I could try them out.

It wasn't long before I bought both the EarthTone set and

completed my Brights set.

In fact I love this stuff so well, I am now friends with Ken Oliver on Facebook..LOL!

Holiday Time

Hello, Diane with you today.

I have to admit, this week I was Pinterest inspired once again!

I saw a similar card and layout/sketch and it was so beautiful,

I just had to make one with a few changes.

I started with just a plain white card stock for the base.

Next came a panel cut from Pearlized Esse White Metallic card stock.

I cut a smaller second panel to place on top from

Bellisima A5 Paper Pack.

The poinsettia was made using Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia die.

I brushed the Poinsettia with Art Institute Dries Clear Adhesive,

adding a little bit at a time,

then sprinkling with Sparkle 'n Sprinkle Cloud Nine Velvet Microfine glitter.

I added a Sue Wilson Festive Collection Snowflakes.

To finish I tied a ribbon around the two panels

and added a sterling silver snowflake.

Just to give you another idea for this card

the original card I saw on Pinterest had greens under the Poinsettia,

no glitter, and no charm...also very pretty!

Happy Halloween

This is my post on the
Dies R Us blog today...enjoy!

It won't be long and it will be time for all those

cute little Goblins to appear at our doors.

I hope they are very careful to stay out of the woods 

or they might run into the witch doing her laundry...

NOT a pretty sight to see!

My card today is a creepy woods scene

with the old witches clothes hanging out to dry...

she even washed that old black cat!

I used Cheery Lynn Designs Witches Laundry B334 die,

which I cut first from black craft foam,

then from black card stock,

and then cut the socks and dress from snippets of scraps!

The old black cat has green gems for his eyes!

I distressed my design paper

and adhered it to a piece of purple card stock.

At the time of writing this,

the witches laundry die is out of stock...drat....

but if you type in the word Halloween,

I am sure you can find many more "have to have" dies

before the "big" day arrives!

Fall Fun

It's that wonderful time of the  month again where the

For my project I used the 3D House Set.

OMGoodness, this is the cutest house ever!!

If you knew me "in person" you would know

I have a somewhat "warped" sense of humor....

so that being said..."Welcome To The Nuthouse"...LOL!!!

 I added squirrels, acorn papers, leaves, sequins, ribbon, twine...

just anything I could think of.  There it is....my house sign...so true, too....

I was thinking, wouldn't this be a cute container to give someone some nuts in?

Take a peek down inside the yard...I mixed Frantage and glitter for my yard...

gives the squirrels a place to hide their nuts!
