Water Coloring

This is my post on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog today
for the latest challenge using the inspiration board below.
The challenge is Colors, Stitching and Patterns.

Hi, Diane with you today.
This is the card I did for our latest challenge
Colors~Stitching~Patterns

I went with the Rose patterns I saw in the fabrics.

One of the biggest trends right now seems to be water coloring,
so  I had a little fun with the Ken Oliver Color Bursts Alizarin Crimson
and a We R Memory Keepers Next Level Bouquet Embossing Folder.

I just spritzed some water on my craft mat,
puffed on a small amount of color bursts,
spritzed a water color paper and painted
the color onto an already embossed water color paper.

I added a pretty ribbon bow and a tiny resin flower,
which you could use Whimsy Perfect Petals.
A bit of Cloud Nine Velvet Glitter was added.

Thank you for visiting with me today.

It's A Cupcake Kind of Day

This week at the Dies R Us challenge blog
our theme is RED.

I have to admit it threw me off course a bit as
in my mind all I could think of was red hearts.....
talk about having a one track mind!

But, while out shopping last week
I came across this cute little stamp that was marked
way down.
Now I don't need any stamps, but it was too much of a
bargain to pass up, let alone being so darn cute!

I colored him in with a few Copics,
added some red stitckles to the sprinkles, and
outlined his whiskers and eyes with a stardust clear pen
to create more sparkle.

to cut out the image and the glitter paper under him.

The background was cut from a scrap piece of red card stock

Here is a close up of the stitching.

If you follow my blog you will know I have a bit of an addiction
to the 'stitched' dies lately!

across the top (yes, I know it is not centered, I wanted it that way)
...so all in all I did manage to get my hearts in!

 A pretty simple card...
the inside I computer printed a sentiment
'It's a cupcake kind of day'!

Now pop on over the the Dies R Us challenge blog and see
what my 'teamies' have come up with for their 'RED' cards!

Our Hearts Are Broken

Today is a different and difficult post for me.

Yesterday we lost our beautiful and so very loved
Goldendoodle Nellie
to lymphoma.
It was a fast moving cancer that took her two weeks after she
was diagnosed.

She loved playing in the snow.

This is one of the last pictures I took of her on 1-24-16
How I miss that beautiful face!!!!!

I have spent the last two weeks up with her most nights, all night
to keep track of her and help her up when she needed to go out
and to get her to her food dish and for water.
I cannot even imagine a life without her as she has been at my side
nonstop for the last 10 years.

She was the most gentle, loving, smart, silly, ever faithful friend
you could ever ask for in a dog.

There was never a time when I didn't come home and
she was waiting for me with her tail wagging, until today!

I hope you will all forgive me for awhile if I don't visit and comment
on your blogs for a bit...
I don't even know what to do right now as I just feel empty.

A Fun "RECIPE" Challenge at Fussy and Fancy

This week at Fussy and Fancy 'Jo' is our hostess
and she has chosen a fun challenge for us using the little poem below.

A Recipe:
Create a design and have some fun.
Use this recipe and your work will be done.
Just use black and white to make a start,
But then add some red, a flower, and a little love heart!

Sound like fun?
It was!!!

Other then the black card base itself,
I used all snippets of scrap pieces from
my scrap bags...ahhh...it feels so good
to use some of it up!

I also was able to use a heart cat die
I had purchased sometime last year
and this is the first I have die cut it.
It is even prettier then I thought!

I added a flower given to me out of
a RAK from a fellow DT member,
a few heart stems (I love those things)
and a pretty flourish!

The bow is also a die cut!

So now head on over to
Fussy and Fancy and see what
the other teammates have created...
lots of gorgeous inspiration there!

Pretty Layers

This is my card on the Dies R Us blog today!

Hi there!

I have a card to share today that has both a
little bit of layering and a little bit of ombre!

I started with a basic 110# white card stock
that I layered an ombre die cut using
Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight.
If you look you can see where the die cut is lighter
on top and getting darker as it goes down the card.

The next two layers are cut from
I absolutely LOVE her dies and this one is no exception!
Look how pretty it is and the detail on the die cut in white...
gorgeous!

The sentiment underneath is actually one like I had used
on my card last week and was laying on my desk
begging to be used!

I added a few tiny Roses with leaves underneath
die cut using Cheery Lynn Designs Flourish Leaf Strip.
This is a 'must have' die as it comes in so handy
over and over and cuts five flourishes at one time!

Don't forget to visit here Monday-Friday for daily inspiration
where you can see many of the dies in use.

Warm Thoughts At The Sisterhood

A new challenge starts today at
This time around our hostess is Terri and she has chosen
'Warm Thoughts' for our theme.
Terri wants us to create something that would keep us 'warm'.

Initially I thought of using some of my coffee stamps,
but then remembered some time back I had
created a 'country pinwheel' quilt card
and decided to do another.

In my previous sewing years, I had a ton of quilt books and patterns.
I downsized my crafting supplies several years ago when I started
making paper crafts more then sewing crafts,
but I kept a Better Homes and Gardens 100 quilt patterns book.
I thought at the time it would be perfect to use those quilt designs for cards.

If you look closely, you can see how the pattern was made,
and really quite simple.

Just punch out 16 one inch squares, cut on the angle,
then it's just all about placement..

I chose the warm and cozy colors of red and a hot pink (pun intended...lol)
nothing cozier and warm, then a nice quilt!

I added buttons, ribbon and a button embossed strip at the bottom.
I also 'quilted' my quit with an EB folder.

Now it's your turn...head on over to The Sisterhood to see
what my 'sistah's' have to inspire you!

Products used:
Papers ....SU Pink Passion, Doodlebug Designs Sweetcakes
Buttons....Hobbylobby
Ribbon .... Really Reasonable Ribbon
Other .... Embroidery Thread, Twine, white card stock, EB folder

Pretty Flowers

This is my card on the
Classy Cards 'n Such blog this week
for our current challenge
Lilacs and Lace
and using the inspiration board below.

Hi, Diane with you today.
This weeks challenge is Lilacs and Lace.

I started with a gorgeous new embossing folder
from We R Memory Keepers Next Level - Quilted.

Next a lacy heart was die cut using 2 of the dies
from Spellbinders Lace Hearts.

Flowers were cut using Memory Box Blushing Bouquet.

The flowers were painted with a TH Water Brush
and using colors from
Twinkling H2Os Holiday Sparkle and Autumn  Brillance.
It gives them a watercolor effect, but they are actually
a bit shimmery from the H2Os.

To finish, I simply added a bow!
Thank you for visiting with me today!
