Fairy Pretty

Well, here we go again, time for a new challenge at

Chocolate, Coffee & Cards.

The theme is Dots/Stripes and our sponsor is

Make It Crafty.

For my image I chose Fairy Celandine Digital Stamp.

Isn't she just the cutest?

I colored her with Copics and added "Firefly Stickles' to her wings.

Since it has been so cold, dark and dreary here,

I decided to make a 'bright and sparkle-y' card to cheer me up!

I used some polka dot paper from my scrap bag

and a striped piece from a new pad.

The flower, well, it is OLD, I had at one time cut a bunch 

of flowers from a glitter felt using a Sizzix die.

The polka dot flower underneath is an oldie as well...

and I used up another brad (which is also striped)....

I guess you can say I am making an effort to use up some of that old stash.

It's Your Birthday

Hello my friends!

It's that time again for a new challenge at the

Dies R Us challenge blog.

The theme is Black & White and you may add an accent color if you wish!

I seem to have lots of A2 card stock ready to use, so I grabbed a black'

card stock base.   

I ran a panel of sticky back paper across a white card stock piece,

then sprinkled with black glitter and burnished with my finger.

Once that was done, I stamped a sentiment below the glitter.

I cut leaves from Sue Wilson Lace Edged Leaves 

and flowers from Sue Wilson String Flowers

(the flower dies were enabled from a previous DT member...

you know who you are...lol)!!

White pearls were added to each flower center 

and a trimmed Memory Box Precious Butterflies was the finish!

I have a million things I should be doing

but I just couldn't resist in joining in a new challenge

I spotted through my email 'subscriptions'!

The challenge is from The Scrapping Cottage blog using

Cottage Cutz dies only.

Well, on my 'Sleepless in Michigan' night, last night,

I 'dreamed' up this card!!

As a child I remember going to my Great Aunt Helen's home

in Indiana to visit and she always had a cupboard full of beautiful

dishes and 'teapots' and such.

Even had the shelves with the pretty doily papers on it,

so I just had to get my Cottage Cutz Tea Time Border Die out

and create a card in a 'memory' of her.

I cut the die from a glossy card stock, and then just one little red

teapot for a 'pop' of color!

In real life, the teapots all have a glassy/glow to them, like real pottery!

The sentiment is SU and I used two  OLD 
SU punches to mount it on.

Last week, I received my RRR ribbon club assortment for April 

and this sheer and gorgeous cherry print ribbon was included.

I think the ribbon was just what I needed to finish out my card.

I will be back next week using this same die again, but in a slightly different way.

Generations Challenge at The Sisterhood

I had a sweet image left over from my DT days with Crafty Secrets

and decided to use it for my project.

I used some new papers from Kaisercraft called Secret Garden.

What you probably can't notice is over the gingham paper

I have a recycled piece of packaging from Prima.

It is a clear plastic piece with doilies on it.

It was so pretty I had to keep it...

it adds just a touch of elegance to the card.

Under the image is my favorite doily die....

I have a lots of doily dies, but I seem to pick this one up the most.

Dance Recital

This is my post on the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog today.

Hello, Diane with you today.

I have several little granddaughters in Dance Recitals

and that is where the idea came for this card.

I used Want To Scrap chipboard Leotard and Tutu for the tutu you see.

I also used Ballet Shoes Stamp set for the shoes

One of the 'tips' I have read/learned from Sparkle N Sprinkle when using chipboard

is to first use Versamark, then coat it with white embossing powder as it

gives your glitter a great background to adhere to.

After the  white embossing powder was added and heat set,

I traced the leotard top onto Super Adhesive Sheets,

then cut it out and applied it to the top of the tutu,

then adding  Hyacinth Velvet glitter to it, burnishing it with my finger.

I purchased a roll of organza from a local craft store and gathered a

section of it for the tutu, using a glue gun to attach it to the leotard top.

I made a Rosette to add using a Peach Pull Ribbon,  then attaching

a Crown Charm from Want 2 Scrap.

I stamped the sentiment in Coffee embossing powder,

also part of the Ballet Stamp set.

For the Ballet Shoes, I stamped them with Tuxedo Black Ink,

colored with Copics, then applied Dimensional  Glue and added

more of the Hyacinth Velvet Glitter to the shoe.

I finished by adding Nuvo Crystal Drops Crushed Grape.

Wonderful Life

Here we are with the first week of April already gone!

My goodness it sure goes fast doesn't it?

Which also brings us to a new challenge at Fussy and Fancy

being hosted by our lovely teammate Beth

and sponsored by Magnoila-licious .

The challenge theme is 'Pink and Green'

perfect for this time of year!

I started with a 5 x 5 square card stock base

and 'built' my card from there.

The image used is Tilda With Prince Froggy.

I colored it with my Copics, adding a bit of Clear Star to the crowns

and shoe bottoms for a bit of 'sparkle'.

The dress was stamped on a little snippet of gingham and then fussy cut out

and paper pieced on. 

I 'framed' the image, then added flowers and a burlap butterfly to finish.

The sentiment is part of a paper pad which I have listed below.

'Yellow" A Happy Place To Be At Double D Challenges

Well, what do you know, it is already time for a new challenge at
Double D Challenges!

The theme is "yellow" and using the tile board below!



There are so many things to choose from
and I went with quite a few myself.
Besides the color yellow of course,
I added a bird on a branch,
a few vellum flowers.
polka dot ribbon and even stenciled polka dots
with stencil paste mixed with squeezed lemonade distress ink!

Oh, yes, I added a weathered birdhouse as well.

Now the girls at the Double D have done once again
outstanding work
and you just might want to pop on over there
