Pretty In Pink

I had the best time this morning creating this little girlie!

Her name is Mikala Ann

I just love her and all her pretty pink details.

I created her using The Cutting Cafe Shop new stamp set

Everyday Elisha Jean & Friends.

When purchasing the stamp set, you also receive a cut

file for the set.  That includes tabs on the clothes

so you can make paper dolls if you want to.

I have always had a love for paper dolls so this set

just 'spoke to me' right away!!

I did an SVG cut file on my Cricut Explore, 

then stamped her image .

I colored her in with Copics and my secret to get

the 'perfect' blush look on her cheeks is to use a

Q-Tip and real blush.

Yep, it's true and I also use it on her skin too...looks so natural.

I stamped her dress, added  new Nuvo Glitter Drops in Sherbert Shimmer.

I used it for the little heart in her hair too.

This stuff is so cool, it makes little enamel dots

and it comes in lots of pretty colors.

The background paper is some I picked up along the way,

a denim print ... so pretty!

I added a banner across the top with a small gingham bow

(had to get some gingham in there somewhere with that denim..lol!

I also added the cutest little bird and branch

(I will list the products used below.)

Hello Sweet Friend

Hi All!!

Time for the new challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters

and Lisa is our hostess and she has chosen the challenge

to use NO designer papers.

Now that sounds easy, but I think I almost always, always

reach for my papers, how about you?

However, my very first thought was to use an embossing folder.

I have purchased about 6 of the Spellbinders 3D folders

and never think to get them out and use them.

Crazy on my part as they are so beautiful!!

The 3D embossing folders emboss very, very deeply.

I basically taped the card stock inside the embossed side of the folder,

spritzed lightly with water, then ran my Distress Ink pads over

the 'debossed' side to add the colors you see.

I used Spellbinders Labels 34 for the center, 

leaving the original panel in the folder and taping

the die cut over the center,

once again using my inks on just the middle section

of the debossed folder, then ran it through my Big Shot.

I just love how it turned out, so beautiful, yet so easy.

This was a great challenge as it made me get those folders out and put in use!

Gone Fishin'

This is my post at Sparkle N Sprinkle blog today!

Hi, Diane with you today and it looks like a good day to 'go fishin'..lol!

The new May release brought us this super fun 'Gone Fishin' stamp set

that is just perfect for the guy in your life, 

either for Father's Day or a birthday!

I first stared with a Memory Box stencil Texture Shine.

Reminded me of a nice sunny morning to fish on the lake.

I applied Dreamweaver's White embossing paste with a

Dreamweaver Pallete Knife.

I sprinkled a pretty Lemonade glitter on that,

then set it aside to dry.

Once dry I trimmed around the edges and

using  Double Sided Tear-ific TApe 1/4", I adhered it to a navy blue card stock.

Next, I stamped the image with Versamark, then sprinkled 

Cerulean embossing powder on and heat set with my heat tool.

I did the same with the sentiment using the same embossing powder.

I punched an anchor with a MS punch,

added Versamark to it, then coated it with 

Super Thick Silver Enamel Embossing powder.

I love the way it made it look like a real anchor.

A tip is to let it set up a few minutes before touching it

as, because it is thick it takes a little longer to dry then

normal embossing powder.

I finished by tying the anchor to a piece of twine, liking the 'pop of red'.

Happy Birthday Challenge At Fussy and Fancy

Here we are again with a new challenge at

Fussy and Fancy

with Sasha being our hostess and she has chosen the theme

'Happy Birthday'!

I have a gorgeous yellow card I created which entirely came from

my scrap bags of pre-cut dies and scrap papers.

I used a yellow card stock for my background then topped

with a Heartfelt die cut a friend had cut for me,

so am not sure the name of the die, but I love how delicate it is!

The die actually has a cut out circle in it, but I cut a Spellbinders

circle in white to place over that, then added the happy birthday on top.

The flowers, stems (Poppystamps) and such all came from the scrap bags,

I keep all these kind of things in clear bags, sorted by color.

The butterfly is a crochet one that I added to a plain butterfly die,

it comes with sticky stuff on the bottom, which means it would of

laid flat on my card and I wanted it more 3D.

It is a Martha Stewart butterfly that I got on clearance at Michael's

awhile back...how I wish I had picked up a few more packages of these!

Being my Mom's birthday is May 6th and yellow happens to be her 

favorite color, I think this card will be hers!!

LOVE Word Book

I have a fabulous project I created for our

The Cutting Cafe Design Team projects

which is making a 'WORD' book.

We had a choice of any word book cut file we wanted.

I chose the word LOVE and made my book about my

beloved Nellie dog that passed away on Feb 12th.

I am still struggling with the pain of losing her

as she was my heart and soul and I loved her so much!

My book is no where complete, but I will be adding to it

over the next few weeks and will show you my progress

as I get it done.

I have a nice collection of 'dog' papers and just love how it turned out!

I first cut all the pages from a lightweight cardboard,

then cut fronts and backs from the papers.

The single letters are included in the file, so I cut those from

contrasting papers.

It was a very easy and somewhat quick cut file as I used my

Cricut Explore to do all the cutting for me.

I added snippets and bits and pieces of ribbons I save

just for these types of projects to the rings.

I printed a picture of Nellie and added it to the front in a small frame.

I found a cute little I love you sticker, 

and a few other 'doggie' pieces I have added so far.

I chose to make a Mother's Day card for my own Mom

as I am very fortunate to have her still in my life

as she will be celebrating her 89th birthday on May 6th

and as many of you might have read on previous posts

she has Stage 4 breast cancer which we are all struggling through.

I  love square cards now and then and decided to make a 5" one for this card.

I used a new Cheery Lynn Designs die Lords & Commons Square Doily (new to me)

for my background.

The tulip stamp is from Sparkle N Sprinkle

which I colored with my Copics, then hand cut out.

I tucked a few Sue Wilson Maiden Ferns behind.

I used an old SU Sizzix Butterfly embosslits Beautiful Wings die

to cut a few various size butterflies.

I love this die as it not only cuts 5 very different butterflies,

it embosses each as well!

The banner was cut with a Spellbinders die

and stamped with a Flourishes 'Motherly Love' stamp.

I finished with a pretty bow using RRR ribbon..

Hey Girlie!!

This is my first post for The Cutting Cafe Shop using a newly released

set of stamps called "Everyday Elisha Jean & Friends".

What a cute and adorable set this is...and guess what?

It also comes with a cut file for the stamps if you  wish to use it!

The clothes in the cut file even have little tabs if you wish to make paper dolls!!

I made a fun, bright and happy card using Elisha Jean from the set.

I did a cut file for her using a vanilla card stock, stamping her image,

then coloring her in with my Copics.

Isn't she just the cutest?

I stamped and then paper pieced her dress,

adding a tiny pink bow to her adorable little cherry print dress.

I added a rainbow, dotted fun fluffy clouds

and a kite.

Every little girl needs a kitty, so I included one of those too..LOL!

The 'hey girlie' sentiment is part of the set!
