Get Ready to Laugh!!

This week at The Cutting Cafe is what I am going to call
'an embarrassing moment" for me...LOL!

The assignment was to show a picture of a portion of our creative spaces.
Should be easy, right?   NOT!!  I have a huge mess right now
and the only half way clean place (and even that is messy) was
my corner of the room that houses my 12 x 12 papers and my card stocks!
Want to see? Now don't be jealous...hahahahaha!!!

TaDa!!!

The paper on the left is all my 12 x 12 papers, a small portion of it anyways,
as it it from the floor up, you are seeing the top 1/3 ...and a 'collect all'
on top of that!

The other is a shelving unit (big one) form Lowes, it goes almost to the ceiling
and I have 2 of the big ones
and one small one in the room and
another in the closet for 'seasonal 'stuff.
The edge of the shelves easily hold my SU punches...some of them,
the rest are on
the other unit the other side of the room and in a few dedicated 'punch' drawers!
Card stocks on the left are all SU and the ones to the right are all my 110# base card stocks.

Someday I will show my room all completed...I bought fabric for it years ago
to make skirts for my tables to hide what's under them,
curtains for the double windows and chair covers for the chairs.
It is a pretty large room with a wall of closets
and I have it set up one side for sewing and one side for paper crafting.
my work table backs up to my sewing table and I can move
my sewing machine off when a friend come to paper play!

If you want to see a few other of the Design team Rooms,
make sure and pop on over to
The Cutting Cafe on the 21st....
you just have o see Regina's room
(which is why I am calling this an embarrassing)
assignment...LOL!!

Double D Challenges Silhouettes

New challenge starts today at Double D with Team Darlene hosting.
Darlene has chosen the theme of  'silhouettes'
and the fun mood board below for inspiration.

Since one of my many paper crafting resolutions this year was to
'use what I have'
I chose this silhouette image from Technique Tuesday
because I already had it stamped from a previous year or two. This is one of those images that the
Misti or The Stamp Platform would of come in
handy, as I could of stamped over it a few times to
get that really deep color I was going for....
on my list of 'must haves'!

I have been liking the square cards lately and so I cut a card stock base 5" x 5".
I spent plenty of time looking for 'just the right' papers
and finally picked out 3 to use, and ended up using just one....
does that ever happen to you?

The background of my stamped image is an 'all over' cloud stamp
from Impression Obsession, which I think made the perfect
backdrop for the image.

The sentiment is part of the TT Fly stamp set.
I stamped directly onto the background (thank goodness it worked..lol)
and the second part of the sentiment on a little wood banner
(another bit of something I need to use up).
I really love the sentiment as I think more people in this world of ours
need to "Enjoy the little things"!

Make sure to head on over to Double D Challenges and see all the beautiful
and inspiring creations from both teams!

More Easter Blessings

I still have a few more Easter cards I would like to share
for the month of April.

This is another of those dies that can be used for other then Easter cards.
The die I used is Tutti Designs Spring Gate.
I did however make it into an Easter card by stamping
the 'Easter Blessings' on the die itself.

I added a few punched butterflies and
a background Ken Oliver paper cut with a
Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Rectangle die.

Happy Birthday Cake

I had a lot of fun making this card for a birthday!
I love the fun colors and the polka dots of course!

I started out by embossing a happy birthday background,
then layered three Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Circles.

The center die is a Tutti Designs 'Birthday Topper'.
I colored it with Copics,
added a bit of Sparkle N Sprinkle Sunny Daze glitter
to each candle 'flame'.

I topped it off with a bow made from gorgeous ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Happy Easter Sunday

Happy Easter everyone!

We had a beautiful day yesterday here in Michigan....
all sunshine and in the 80's.
I was able to spend about 4 hours outside in my gardens
and it felt so good!

I have a card today for Easter using the Tutti Designs Happy Easter Circle.
I used all scraps of paper for the card base....pretty colorful
but a great way to use up those 'snippets' of paper.

I placed the die cut on a Nesting Stitched Circle die,
added a tiny just bow and button...pretty simple!

Hope the Easter Bunny was good to you all today...have a blessed day!!

Pitter Patter Baby Tag

The challenge at Dies R Us is TAGS.
It can be any kind of tag you want.
It just so happened that I need a baby gift tag for May
AND
had the cutest newly purchased baby dies from Dies R Us!

My granddaughter is expecting her first baby June 28th
and we now know it is a girl.
So exciting and bit a scary too as she is high risk
due to her juvenile diabetes.

As soon as I found out the gender,
I purchased this monster BIG gift bag from the
Home Goods store and have been filling it up month by month..lol.

I based my tag on the bag to tie on for extra appeal.

The tag was started using 2 layers of  Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Tags.
I embossed the second tag with an SU Decor Dots eb folder.

Next using snippets of scrap papers I used the cutest dies
Sue Wilson Designs  Stuffed Animals
and stacked the little animals one on the other, like on the bag.

Sue Wilson Finishing Touches Petite Vinery
was added next, with a few little pink star 'candi's'.

I cut the pitter patter die (part of the SW Stuffed Animals set)
twice and offset each layer a bit.
I added twine and a bow to finish.

Now, make sure and visit the Dies R Us challenge blog
to see all the other beautiful and inspiring tags....
join in the challenge with us, we would love to see YOUR tags!
