Happy Birthday

It's the 15th of the month and that means a new challenge

theme at the Dies R Us challenge blog.

Our theme is BIRTHDAYS...pretty easy!

I made a square card that is just slightly larger then a 5" card.

One of my latest die purchases is this pretty Jeanine's Art Flower Frame.

I die cut if from a white card stock.  It is a 2 piece set, allowing you to cut it

three different ways, the main die itself, or with the blank die (the green piece you see)

which will cut an opening in the main piece, or as I did, cutting first the main die, then cutting

the blank piece as I did in the green, then adhering it on top of the main piece 

(I hope this all make sense lol)

It is a very unique and detailed die.

cut from a white card stock that I had first adhered a small piece of Stick It Adhesive Sheets ,

 then sponged with Distress Ink Pad Picked Raspberry

Nuvo Crystal Drops Party Pink were added to each flower center

and I finished the card with three Precious Marieke Butterflies die cuts.

Round Punch

 One of the first things I did was to stamp the bats then fussy cut them out.
I added Versamark to each bat then sprinkled with Fleur De Lis embossing powder
and heat set from below.
This is a nice thick embossing powder and it is so fun to work with,
I just love how these turned out.

  

I stamped all my images (cat and pumpkin and single cat) using the 

Tonic Tim Holtz Stamp platform.

then cleaned all the stamps

with the new Nuvo Stamp Cleaning Pad and Nuvo Stamp Cleaning Solution.

All my images were then fussy cut out.

The background of my card has been spritzed with Nuvo Mica Mist Violet Lustre.

While that was drying I used a large round punch for my moon, then inked it with 

Nuvo Diamond Hybrid Ink Pads, Rose Garden and Sunset Serenade.

I die cut a fence using an IO fence die, then applied Versamark and Apple Green embossing powder.

All of elements were adhered down with 1/2" Tear-ific Tape and 1/4" Tear-ific Tape.

The sentiment was stamped with Versmark 

then embossed with Black Fine Detail embossing powder.

I colored the pumpkin with Copics then added some sparkle using 

Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glimmer Gloss.

The black cats were coated with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive craft glue, then sprinkled

with Galaxy Night Glitter.  This glitter is fun as it has other colors in besides just black.

For the cats eyes I added a touch of green using the pen form the set of Nuvo Glitter Markers Northern Lights.

What's Your Favorite Color?

Today is a new challenge theme at

The Sisterhood of Crafters

and our hostess Darlene

has chosen

What Is Your Favorite Color?

It might sound a little crazy,

but I don't have one, kind of depends on my mood at any given moment

but if you happened to look in my closet you would see lots of

blues~grays~lime green....

so I chose YELLOW...see,

doesn't make sense does it...lol!!

I do like yellow though as it is a HAPPY color to me,

how can it not make you happy?

I also chose it as I had this little duck die cut (Cheapo Dies)

already sitting on my work table just waiting to be used

and when I went through my yellow stack of papers

I found this cute little duck print, it's old let me tell you...

about time I pulled it out and used a smidgen of it!

I tried to give my little duck 'feathers'

by first using a Versamarker pen here and there

and then embossing with SNS Daffodil embossing powder.

The sentiment both inside and out 

(yep I even finished the inside of my card (barely) which is a big accomplishment for me) is from SU, stamped with

Dew Drop Memento Danube Blue ink.

The bow is a scrap I had left.

Simple Step Card

Hi All, enjoying your summer?

It's been pretty darn hot here but I am NOT complaining,

much better then snow/cold!!

Our challenge at Back To Basics and Beyond is to make

a simple 'step card'.

I used a video HERE for mine.

Since it is summer, I decided to go with a fun summer card.
I had a lot of fun making this card and it was very simple!

I had a piece of watercolor paper that I was messing around with
Nuvo Shimmer Mist Nebula Blue
quite awhile back and it actually is what started this card.
I used a wave die and cut it from that paper,
and it worked out pretty good, all nice and shimmery,
just like waves are!

I also added six sail boats to the step parts on the waves....
My lighthouse die fit perfectly on the front panel
and of course what is a lighthouse without seagulls?

Life Is A Song

These are my cards featured today at the Tutti Designs blog using the

Musical Stave.

The first card is bright and cheerful.

I die cut the stave in 3 bright colors,

stamping a background behind.

I added a cute sentiment and a little heart for fun!

The second card I cut an oval negative and backed it with a scrap of pretty paper,

added the glittery die cut Musical stave over it on an

embossed panel.  It was finished by simply adding a sentiment!

Summer At The Beach

First I want to say Happy 4th of July.

This week you will find me at our beach house on Lake Huron

so what could be more perfect then the challenge theme at

Double D Challenges? 

The theme is 'Nautical'!

I have put together a fun 'mood/inspiration  board'

just full of summertime goodness!

I bet you can't guess which part of the board inspired me?

I actually had something else in mind but this card just fell together so easily

and I LOVE it!

Using a Tutti Designs Banner die cut from a white linen paper,

I die cut the anchors and captions wheel from paper scraps several times

and added them to it.

The sentiment is from Bo Bunny's 'Life's A Beach' stamp set.

This is the stamp set I purchased with this challenge in mind.

At least I used the sentiment from it!

I finished with a red and white twine bow.

It is a MUST SEE at Double D as the Design Team has once again

knocked it out of the park...I just love our team!

Koi Fish

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today featuring the

Tutti Designs Koi Fish die.

The first card is very quick to make just by die cutting the Koi from

a patterned paper, which gives it a bit more detail

and using a second paper for the background.

I stamped the sentiment directly on that,

then added a few big sequins.

The Koi was then popped up. 

Second card I am using a Koi embossing folder I had in my stash,

embossed in white and an added strip of orange down one side.

The Koi was cut from a glitter paper.

The last card is a tad bit darker then it shows,

once again using an embossing folder,

adding a few pearls, a ribbon

and the cutest little fish button.

I hope I have given you some ideas to use with this Koi die

and have inspired you to create!
