Favorite Technique at The Sisterhood

Hello my friends,

it is time for another challenge at

The Sisterhood of Crafters

and is being hosted by our 'sistah' Annie!

She has chosen the theme of show us your 

Favorite Technique!

I don't know about you  but I love doing different techniques

and one of my all time favorites is

coloring on vellum.

I just love the softness and the watercolor look.

I used a pretty stamp from SNS (now out of business)

but designed by Fred She Said called Happy Flowers.

She does have the flowers on her site called Scribbled Flowers

either already colored or for you to color HERE if interested.

 A little rule of coloring on vellum, 

always, always remember to color on the backside

after embossing the front of your vellum

or you will ruin it.

I added a frame (poppystamps) to hold the vellum in place,

a few vellum butterflies,

and a sentiment stamped on a Cheery Lynn Designs label.

Lily Heart Panel

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today.

Hello Tutti Designs friends!
Today I have three very different and very easy versions of the beautiful
Lily Heart panel.

The first card was done in entirely white, then inked the 
lily of the valley flowers and heart panel.
I actually have pink lily of the valley in my own gardens.
I stamped a happy birthday on a Tutti Designs Stitched oval.

The second card was die cut in entirely white and placed on a pretty
pink card base, other then the sentiment,
I added a tiny glitter pink heart.

The last card has a totally different look by die cutting the panel

from a print paper and backing it with another contrast print.

I hope I have given you some ideas using this die
and wouldn't it make a beautiful wedding card?

Begins With 'M'

Hard to believe we are already in our third week of May
and nothing has changed much here in Michigan with
our 'stay at home' still in effect.
But I do have a card to share for the new theme challenge at
Double D!

The theme is
Begins With 'M'.
You can create with anything that starts with a M.

We have a mood board below to give you an idea
of a few M things!

I gave it a little thought and decided my new and yet to be used
Fairy Mouse stamp  by Pink Ink Designs
would be just perfect.
I have to admit, I did buy another mouse set to use for this challenge,
but couldn't resist this fairy mouse!

There are quite a few stamps in this set
and one of them is an extra pair of wings to stamp separately.
I stamped them on Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder
then fussy cut them out and placed over her stamped wings on the image.
I just barely attached them at her shoulder so they are a bit 3D.

She was a fun stamp to work with and I am sure she will show up here again!

Trombone Fun

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today.

Hello Tutti Design friends!
Today I am featuring the fun Trombone die in two
completely different styles.

First up is a more girly card with a pink embossed background.
The trombone was cut from black card and I just added
twine a music 'button' from my stash.

The second card I made a bit 'vintage' with the old inked up paper,
a gold metallic die cut trombone and a few matching gold candi's.
I stamped the vintage on a Tutti Designs Stitched Rectangle.

Sketch Challenge at MFT

It was/is a very rainy day today, 100%, I guess that says it all!
A good day to be in the craft room!

I subscribe to My Favorite Things and am pretty much a 'stalker' there.
When I saw this sketch pop up I figured I might give it a shot.

My Favorite Things

For my card I used the Purrfect Friends Stamp 
and Purrfect Friends die-namics
that I bought early last year I think and this is the first time I have used it...shame!!

It's the cutest set and being an animal lover it was right up my alley!!

I also used the My Favorite Things Petite Plaid paper.

Just the card I needed to make on this gloomy day!!

Celebrate

It's time for a new challenge theme at Dies R Us

and it is Graduation and/or Congratulations.

There are no graduations taking place as I write this

but nothing says you can't still send out a card

to a deserving graduate to lift their spirits

until the day actually does come!!

I did a very simple card in one of our school colors here at Niles

blue and gold.

I used the Cheapo dies Grad Cap and the Tutti Designs word set 'Celebrate'.

The stamped words are from a set in my stash.

I also die cut another set in some fun colors

that can be used for any school!

We have some exciting news to share with you.  Dies R Us now has a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts.  

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!

Birds~Bees~Butterflies

Our hostess this week at

The Sisterhood of Crafters is Vickie

and she has chosen the theme of 

'Birds~Bees~Butterflies'.

You can pick one or use them all!!

Well, I have to say I picked a very different 'B' for my card.
I couldn't resist this little Cottage Cutz stamp when they had one of 
their sales as it was only $2.38 at that time...and have to admit I bought several!
She was pretty easy (for me) to color as not too involved.

Everything I used came from my 'organized by color' scrap bags.

The wire background piece is a scrap of digital paper I had printed

when I worked for Crafty Secrets.

All the other pieces, including the card base were already on hand...

feels so good to use some of that up.

I know you can't see it, but I added a stardust pen to her's and the bee's wings.
