Leave It To Me Challenge

Wow, two weeks into October all ready, and I am another year older....YIKES!
It also brings us to a new challenge at Double D hosted by Team Darlene.
The theme is 'Leave It To Me'
and using the mood board below.
We want to see leaves on your project.

For my card I simply went with the colors and of course the 'leaves.

I water colored a SB scalloped die cut using my Zigs,
then from scrap cut my PoppyStamps Monterey Vine
and Amy Design  Winter Owl.

I stamped the sentiment (it's a real 'oldie' from JustRite)
using the TH Stamp platform....how I love that thing,
it allowed me to stamp in the same place 3 times
until I was satisfied with the outcome!

A few rustic sequins were added too!

Leaves Challenge

It's already half way through the month and that means
a start of a new challenge at the
Dies R Us challenge blog!
Our theme is 'Leaves'.

I went with one  of my favorite newly released dies in August from
Tutti Designs called
Tutti Designs Leaves Background.

I had been 'itching' to use gilding flakes on this die for a fall card
thinking it would make for a beautiful card.

It was pretty easy (though a bit messy as gilding flakes are)
but well worth the effort I think!

I simply cut the die from black card stock,
then applied Nuvo Glue Pen all over the die cut.
This glue is a 'tacky' glue that you let sit for a few minutes after applying
so it gets real sticky. (A MUST HAVE for these flakes)
Then you just simply add your flakes,
and use a stiff brush/sponge to get the excess off.

I cut a black strip of card stock for the
Tutti Designs Word Set - Celebrate  to sit on.
I used Versamark on the die cut,
then applied Hit The Beach embossing powder and heat set.
This is another of those embossing powders I love so much
that has the added glitter to it...it embosses with a pretty sparkle....
kind of like magic!

You're definitely going to want both the rubber versions as well as the digi versions of all our new releases.

Here is my card I did for our October Reveal using the new stamp set
'Lovely as a Leaf'.


I first cut a Tutti Designs Stitched rectangle and made sure my stamp would fit
entirely on it, knowing I was going to 'frame' it later.

I then applied Nuvo Glue Pen (large pen) directly to the stamp
and stamped onto the die cut.
This glue is 'blue' which I love as you can see it quite well,
but dries perfectly clear.
The glue is a 'tacky' glue, meaning it is quite sticky
and by setting it aside for a minute or so, it becomes even more 'sticky'.

While the glue was 'setting up', I mixed up 3 different Nuvo Gilding Flakes
in a container, Silver Bullion, Radiant Gold, and Sunkissed Copper.
I used my fingers to break apart the larger pieces and mixed them all together.

Next, you simply apply to your image, pressing down slightly
and covering the entire 'glue stamped' piece.

Next using a somewhat stiff brush (or scootchy foam like I used)
you simply brush off the flakes and your result is a beautifully 'gilded' image!
By mixing the 3 colors of gilding flakes together,
it gave a variation of colors on the leaf.

I die cut frames using an Impression Obsession frame set,
I once again used the Nuvo Glue Pen  and coated both frames entirely,
then sprinkled Copper Penny Glitter on the smaller frame and
Golden Wheat glitter on the larger frame.
Using Versamark embossing ink, I stamped the sentiment and 
embossed with Gold Detail embossing powder.
I hand cut the sentiment, then used the gold pen color 
from the Nuvo Marker set Ember Glow to edge around it.

Next on the hop is the very talented and lovely 'Eret'

A Glittery Boo To You!

Well today is  yesterday was my big 65..yikes...am I really that OLD?

Oh well, it's better then the alternative as they say LOL!

 Today I  have a super easy card using two Tonic Studio dies

that both can be purchased at Sparkle N Sprinkle.

The first one is a Mini Moments BOO die.

I cut it once from black card and once from orange card

but I didn't stop there.

I coated the orange with Versamark embossing ink

and then used Jazzy Orange embossing powder.

This EB powder has glitter in it.

I think these EB powders should be called 'magic' as to me

like I have stated before, once heated, they appear, like 'magic'!

For the base of the card I stamped 'splatters' using the stamp set

Donna's Stylin Sayings from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

I first stamped in orange, then black, just kind of random.

I wanted to 'jazz' it up a bit more,

so stamped again, but with Versamark, then used the Jazzy Orange

embossing powder once again....

hard to see in the photo, but it gave lots of glittery sparkle!

The second die is Pumpkin Scene.

I really like this die as it is a 2-parter...

letting you cut the under base from one color and the scene from another.

I like how it looks as though it is 'glowing' from within.

I layered the finished panel on an orange base, then a black under that.

AFTER I took the photos, I decided it just needed something 'more',

so I added a few random Nuvo Ripened Pumpkin Enamel Drops

around the boo sentiment...it really added a lot!
(Just 'pretend' you can see it...lol)!

Pink October

I am the hostess for The Sisterhood of Crafters for the next challenge

and I chose the theme of 

'Pink October'

being October is breast cancer awareness month.

You can create any kind of card as long as it is PINK!

I did a cute little card using a stamp set that hadn't seen ink yet.

It is from Avery Elle and has the cutest little animals on it called

'Storybook'.

I stamped the deer then fussy cut him out,

same with the balloon.

The star background at the top, I won the die a few years back

and this is the first I have used it and LOVE it.

I added a piece of 1 1/2" Tear-ific tape behind it,

then sprinkled Bubblegum glitter on.

I die cut 3 tiny stars (yep those little stars are a die)

from a glitter paper 
and added a few pink  (Lawn Fawn die) hills.

The sentiment (part of the stamp set) was stamped with Nuvo Hybrid Ink in Metro Gray,

I like the softness of the color...

Spooky Gate

Bob Boo Boo!!!

Did I scare you...lol...I highly doubt it

(unless I took a 'selfie) then might do it LOL!

I have my third and final card using the Tutti Designs Spooky Gate.

(you might have seen the others HERE and HERE.

It's really much darker IRL!

I die cut a circle and used TH inks to make the spooky moon...

I die cut just the bat (it is part of the fence) from black

and added him to the gate top over the patterned paper....

easy peasy with DS paper and a die and a few inks!

If The Shoe Fits

October it is and October brings us HALLOWEEN!!

I made this fun card as a designer for the Tutti Designs store

using the new Witch Shoe die.

The sentiment was created on my computer with a

'spooky' font...it kind of 'drips' lol!

Once it was printed, I die cut with a CLD Fish Tail Banner.

A pumpkin button was added to finish...

now this shoe is really 'stylin' don't you think??

On another note,

I have been gone since last week, 

so I will be around to visit you all soon...

I am having an issue with my left hand/arm

and it's a bit difficult to type at the moment!
