My daughter Lori, whom is a very "trendy" girl, always inspires me to try and stay in tune with whats "in" now. It's a good thing, too as in the last few years I have just gotten rid of the rest of my high school clothes, and since I graduated in 1971, you might say its about time. So, in keeping "in tune" with her, I bought this great bag at Target to carry all my Stampin'Up! suppiles in for my workshops! I just love it! It is quite large, very deep and will hold quite a bit. The neat thing is it has several pockets on the outside and the best is inside! It has 3 divided folders to hold papers and anything you want to keep from getting bent, plus several mesh pockets for punches, stamp sets and even a place for pens. I tried to get a picture of the inside, and it slightly shows some of it! Don't you just love the polka dots! I am "stylin"!!!

If I Can't Have Spring One Way, I'll Get It Another!
A couple of fun and easy cards I did the last few days! First is one I call "Fun"! I used Stampin'Up! Moss Green Paper, oval punch, Hostess set Make It Count and Boho Backgrounds. I used the Cuttlebug folders Floral Fantasy and Flower Circle, which I cut out and left the stem off. The ribbon is some I got in a bag of ribbons from HobbyLobby.
Second card is made with Stampin'Up! Close To Cocoa and Blush Blossom paper, and the Blooming With Love set. I also used the SU wheel Solitude at the bottom. The flowers in the wheelbarrow were colored with the SU watercolor pencils, and I added a glitter gel pen in the centers and also outlined the wheelbarrow with a black glitter pen. I know the shading along the very vanilla cardstock looks orange, its NOT, its the camera lighting.....the brad and ribbon are from Miachel's.....the kitty stamp I added for interest! Hope you like them!!

Stampin' Up! Bloomin Beautiful Card
I used a different technique (for me) to do this card. I stamped the image with SU basic black on SU Vanilla cardstock and then embossed it in gold with embossing powder.
I used SU Crystal Effects (5 drops) and added SU Purely Pomegranate Reinker (1 drop) to it, then I "painted" it on the flowers. The vase was done the same way, only using Ranger Adirondack reinkers. It was hard to get a decent picture of it that would really show it off, but I think it really turned out quite nice! The second picture is more true to color!
Mother's Day Boxes
Thought I would share with you these boxes I made yesterday for my daughter to take to an open house she is selling her jewelry at tomorrow. I made 10 of these pretty little boxes for Mother's Day. I find making these is very addicting and they are fun and fast! My favorite is the cherry one, its so cheerful!
Think Spring!
A quick post today (for now), .....but just wanted to show a little color on my blog!
I punched all these flowers with a retired SU punch. I think it is one of their best punches ever, and was so suprised to learn it was "retired" They do have a new one out for 3 flower punches that is neat, too, its called Boho Blossoms. These flowers you will see on a few cards later this week. Aren't they just the prettiest Spring colors!
Second photo is the real thing! A very pretty Iris from my garden last year.

"Hoppy" Easter Everyone!
Have a Happy Easter everyone! Here is a simple little card I made for today! I think these birds are just the funniest! They are from Stampin'Up! Zoofari set. The sentiment is also SU from one of the Loads of Love accessories stamps.
Cold here today, and snow. We usually have an egg hunt, but this year they would need snowsuits and snow shovels to dig the eggs out. I found an old vcr tape from Easter 1998 and took it to my daughters last night (she had us to dinner) and we all got great laughs over it (like my hair, what was I thinking), but the weather was warm...we were all in short sleeves...now why couldn't we of had that kind of day today! Oh well, it won't be long now, hopefully!
The dinner we had last night that my daughter cooked was all homemade and all new recipes she got off one of her favorite blogs! There was this yummy olive bread (you have to like olives, as its loaded with them), that could of just been the meal itself! You can get the recipe here http://thepioneerwomancooks.com/.
Have a nice holiday!!!

Stampin' Up! Floral Background Stamp
This is one of my favorite Stampin' Up! background stamps "floral"...it is so pretty whatever color combinations you use! I stamped the image with Rose Red Ink on Regal Rose paper....I also used rose red paper for the base of the card. The sentiment is from a past hostess set "Bloomin With Happiness". I added 3 little green crystals to the center of 3 flowers to add some "sparkle"....its simple, but I think its elegant...a perfect Mother's Day card!
Mixture of Scrappin Up!
Stampin' Up! Pretty Amazing
Here are my new cards for tonight!! I had fun making these! The first one doesn't have alot of layers, but it is kind of "busy"! Everything but the ribbon and the brad are from Stampin" Up!. The paper is Pretty In Pink, I used the Pastels Chalk, and the stamp set is Pretty Amazing. The flowers at the bottom are the Daisy Wheel, and on top of that I added a retired stamp from SU.
I think I will post one at a time to make it easier! Hope you like them!

Bluebird Spring Collection
I have been a little busy this weekend working on some of my Bluebird Spring Collection for Ebay. All of these items shown can be seen on my Ebay site Cabincreekprimitives.
My first little offering are 3 baby bluebirds nesting in an old vintage white straw hat. I love to do needle felting, so I added some wool to their little wings, a fluff on their tail and at the top of their heads. I also felted orange on the breast of each little bird. Also in the "nest" is some moss, vintage flowers from an old hat and if you look real close, you can even see some eggs!
The second in my "collection" is the most darling little bluebird nesting in an old vintage headband******I can remember wearing these when I was little for Easter. This little birdie hangs from a blue gingham checked ribbon!
Third in the collection is a very heavy coffee stained "bluebird" doll I call "Birdie" Birdie has the neatest "hair" made from seed pods, she is carring a cone with a tiny bluebird. I made all her clothes from some vintage linens, and her apron even has embroidered bluebirds on it.
I hope you enjoy looking at my "Bluebird Spring Collection"!
Pictures From The Cabin*****Mud Room
Thought I would share a few pic's from the cabin! The pictures are from the "mud room" and one of 3 rooms that has "walls" and not logs! This is a cute little cupboard I bought years ago from Country Sampler...it came painted navy blue, but a few years ago I painted it yellow. I have it decorated for Easter with a few finds I purchased on Ebay....the cinnamon bee's wax bunnies are my favorite as the detail is fantastic! The last photo shows a view of a cormer of the room.....the border I love, it has sheep, salt box houses and the American flag.....the flag item below the cupboard has pegs to hang "yar" hat on!!

New Card
Haven't much time to post...still waiting for SU dem. kit. So thought I would show a few cards, but only had time to load one! My scanner cut part of it off, so don't look too close...I have to get better at this, but I need a new photo program...anyone know of the ones they really like? I am just not sure which one to get! I made this card when I was messing around with some images I stamped for Valentines Day...kind of different! I do have some cards in progress I will put on in a few days.

News Flash From "The Nest"
I have been "missing from action" the last few days! Sorry, but I have GREAT news. I signed up with Stampin'Up as an Independent Demonstrator. I am very excited about this, as it was a 3 year decision..no kidding! , I love to make cards and altered art, so hopefullythis is a good choice for me! If you are finding you have any Stampin'Up needs, please give me a try. I plan to have some of my cards on future posts along with my Cabin life ramblings!

I posted my grandson Caiden, and thought about it, and decided I just could not leave out my grandson Adison, Caiden's brother. Adison is 4, but what comes out that child's mouth is amazing.....like when Caiden became the Prince of Apple Festival, I was dropping him off at school, I told him "have a nice day", and Adison piped up and said "have a PRINCESS day"...now where did THAT come from??? He just comes up with these quick and off the wall comments, sometimes you forget he is only 4!!!
So, here is a pic of Adison, also at our Apple Festival riding on his preschool float. (He is the one sitting to the left of his friend with the lollypop), which by the way is Nevaeh, (Heaven, spelled backwards)...enjoy...I sure did!!!
Have a very busy day and weekend, so am doing a "quickie" post. These two photos are of my 7 year old grandson. He was the Prince of our area's local Apple Festival. I enjoy him so much as I take him to school 4 mornings a week, and our conversations are enlightening, of course he does most of the talking, but he sure starts my day out right, with a good laugh!! Here's to you Caiden!!

Cards of Interest
These are a few of the cards I did, nothing "out of this world", but fun to do! The first card is a set I made with a little matching box. I got addicted to making these boxes and have at least a dozen now. The two Valentine cards are ones I made for my DH(as they say in the stamping lingo), and the one with the girl's face I did for my grandaughter, (of course I never gave it to her), maybe next year! the other one I just did for fun. Sorry the light is not so good on these, but when you live in a "cabin" the lighting is darker then most homes! If you click onthe pictures, the cards will show up in more detail.

Tired of Winter & Can't Wait For Summer
These two photo's I took at our summer house in Northern Michigan on Lake Huron. The first is as close to a sunset as we can get, being we are on wrong side of the lake for that, but I thought it was beautiful, so I took it from our porch. The second photo is a shot I caught last summer with the moon above the house at night. How I long for those summer nights and a "vacation" away from the cabin!!! One can only dream and know it won't be long now!

Garden Visitors
We finally had some sun today, though it is very cold out, it made me think of my garden and how I "itch" to get back out in it. I thought I would share some of my garden visitors from last year. I am doing a scrapbook page with the "visitors" on it and maybe will show it later when its done!
The first one is a pretty butterfly that came to visit, the second is a praying mantis...looks "alien" doesn't he? The last picture is self explanatory!

Here's Nellie
I named my blog after my GoldenDoodle Nellie. She was 2 in August, and she is the best dog ever. She runs the house and is totally in charge, now if she could just cook, clean and do laundry, she would be perfect. A short post tonight, but, I listed my "birdies" on Ebay under Cabincreekprimitives and that took up my blog time...check them out...they are a nice Spring "perk me up"!!

Getting Ready For Easter
We actually had some sunshine today, it made me inspired to drag out some of my Easter decorations. I haven't got much done, but it is all unpacked. The first photo shows my dining room table in the "cabin". We purchased this in Wisconsin several years ago while on vacation. I decided to brighten it up for a change with a vintage tablecloth and some prim chicks and rabbit I bought on Ebay this year and last year. They are handmade out of either soap or bees wax, I just love them!
