Another Scrap Card~This One Is For Fall!

Made another card uisng up more scrap paper...yippee!! My friend Mary sent me the die cut flourishes awhile back, so I Cuttlebugged them with the swiss dots, used the Double Rectangle punch along one edge of the paper, stamped the flowers from the set Baroque Motifs in Kiwi Kiss and Tangerine Tango, popped them up, and thats about it!!

Funny Snowman Monkey

Cute girlie card for little ones for Christmas using the head of the Stampin'Up! Sock Monkey set. I had white glitter paper and punched out circles for his base, used a DS sock monkey paper, 3 sugar coated brads, some liquid applique on his hat, and a cuttlebug Embossing folder for background...pretty simple

Scrap Card SCS195

I made this card totally from scrap papers. I used the layout of Split Coast Stampers SC195. The snowman stamp is one I bought in a clearance set from HobbyLobby last year. I added the little "brrr" stamp as the card seemed so bare. It was good to use up some of the scrap I have, unfortunately I have lots more! Not a "fab" card, but hey, I got rid of some scrap!!!

Stampin'Up! Eat, Drink & Be Scarey~Halloween Frights

This is my card I did for So Shelli's contest, you can find it here http://www.soshelli.com/contest/2008/9/16/halloween-creations-and-celebration-winners.html#comments.

I am entering this today....check out some of the other entries, they are great. You don't have to be a SU demo to enter, as its open to everyone!

Who is that "peeking" out from under the witch's hat? Why, it's Scaredy Cat! As soon as I saw these stamp sets in the preview of the new Holiday Mini, I new "they were mine"! This card was fast to make and fun, too! I stamped Pumpkin Pie on my Barely Banana moon, the DS paper is new, too, it is Autumn Vine...I love it! It is also available Oct 1st, as well as the Frightful Fence wheel is. Ihave shown photos of the sets I used, I like to make a copy of each set before I stick the images on the wood blocks, that way when I use several sets for one card, I know which set they go with right away!

All products used were Stampin'Up! The "recipe" follows. These sets will be available to purchase Oct 1st!

Stamp sets: Eat, Drink & Be Scarey, Halloween Frights Wheel: Frightful Fence, Round Punch 1", Ink: Basic Black, Tangerine Tango,Pumpkin Pie, Paper: DS Autumn Vine, Barely Banana, Tangerine Tango, Basic Black, Whisper White, Ribbon: Pumpkin Pie

Samples of New Core Paper

Our local scrapbook store just got in some of the new Core'dinations Core Color paper. Of course as soon as I walked in the door when I got homeI had to try it all out! I only bought a few colors, and now I have to go and get more tomorrow! I think I am going to LOVE this paper!

These are just some samples I did with the various Cuttlebug embossing folders. You will see some of these made into cards later this week! The web site for this paper is http://www.coredinations.com/ if you want to check it out!

Princess Kendall

I "stole" this photo off my daughter's blog www.loridianephotography.blogspot.com of my little granddaughter, she is so sweet I just had to share! I had babysat for her the previous school year and this summer. She would disappear on me and I would call out to her "Kendall what are you doing" and she would answer "Don't know gama"...oh-oh, I knew I had better follow up! She was playing with play dough one day at the kitchen table, her mother was upstairs so she trotted up there with her mother's purse, and her mother said "Kendall, where is your play dough?" She said "Not in your purse"...but guess where it was...yep, in her mother's purse!

A Horse Is A Horse!

I made this card for the challenge LSC186 on SCS if you would like to check out their gallery! The rules were strict on this challenge, and I have to admit I struggled with it a bit. You had to use white or vanilla card stock as your main color, no sponging, no design paper. Your second color had to be either black, any color brown, or gray. Third color could be any to accent, and your ink had to match the cardstocks chosen! So basically there were only 3 colors to use. My problem was coming up with that third color that looked right with my Sienna Ancient Page Ink. I chose this ink as it has that "vintage" look to it, which is what I was going after! If you haven't tried the Ancient Page inks, try them, they are awesome!

The stamp I bought on Ebay a few years ago, it was one of those "impulse" buying moments! I have to say though, that I just love the image! I added some tinsel ribbon which just happened to be the color of the ink to the wreath around the horse's neck for some "bling"! The stamp image is from True West Designs E482-Large Horse and Wreath (and this stamp is HUGE)!

Kendall and Ronald! She wasn't quite sure about him!

Sunday was our walk for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Reasearch Foundation). It was a hot, but beautiful fall day, Indian Summer as they call it here. We walked in South Bend, Indiana, we live in Michigan, but we are on the stateline.

This was a huge event. Bayer was set up with a HUGE booth and giving away new test meters, my granddaughter Ally that has JD was given one and thrilled as she got to pick her own color....lime green! Let's hope that alot of money was raised for this cause!

I am just sharing a few photos of my grandchildren, Allys cousin Mariah and her brothers and sisters that attended. You can see that fun was had by all!

Baskets & Blooms Same Paper Different Look Part 2

Two more of the baskets I made using the same paper and reversing the paper...what am I going to do with all these baskets I am making?? Well, I will use them at my workshops for drawings and such. I am having a Fall Harvest luncheon and will use a few "special" ones for that!

Basket & Blooms~Same Paper-Different Look!

As I mentioned in my earlier posts, I am addicted to making these baskets! I pretty much never buy any paper anymore that isn't double-sided, unless I KNOW I am just buying it for scrapbooking. You can get so much more mileage from the double-sided paper, and it is such a better quality to work with. I do love the SU DS papers, but I buy lots of other, too, such as Heide Grace and Basic Grey, plus many others. You will find me quite often in our scrapbook store pulling out paper and flipping it over to see whats on the other side!

Enough said about that, so this is the same paper with different looks, amazing how different!

Just a note, I know you can make your own crinkle paper, but I always haunt Walmart after a particular holiday, and they put this stuff down to nothing and have fantastic colors! I think I paid 50 cents a bag for mine!

Card for SC149

I purchased this set "Always" from SU as soon as it came out as I "had to have it". This is the first I have used it. I had a great idea for some cards when I ordered it, and now I can't remember what that "great idea" was.

I left the sentiment off as I do lots of my cards, so I can use it as I might need it. I did the SC149 layout, used Blue Bayou, Chocolate Chip, and Barely Banana papers. The entire card is based on the small strip of DS paper. I had used the other side of that paper for something else and flipped it over and immediately fell in love with it. All is SU, but the DS paper and ribbon. Kind of an unusual color combo...but "I like"!!!

Lovely As A Tree Fall Parade

SC181
Sc144
Do you ever start a card or project, either get bored with it, don't know where you want to go with it, get interupted and never get back to it? Well, I have a basket full of half or partially finished items like that! Early this morning I decided to pick out about 8 incomplete "starts" and see what I could come up with.

I started with these two cards I had started and never finished. I love the SU Lovely As A Tree set and had stamped these about 6 weeks ago intending to submit them to SU...never did! I used my Stampin Spots to random put the color on the trees...kind of like how they turned out!

I based both cards on layouts from SCS using SC181 and SC144...better late then never..right??

Another Basket

Well, I did a funny thing and put my post for this blog on my other blog by mistake! I decided to leave it there as it looked so dang pretty and just put it here too. The worst is having to type it all over again, and I keep getting a bright red error message on blog..now what is that all about??

Anyhow, I made the basket and card using Stampin'Up! Pink Pirquette, Rose Red and Whisper White. The stamp sets used were SU Mr Twigster and Snow Swirled. I made Mr into a Mrs, just loved all that pink and white! The only non SU item I used was the ever faithful Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing Folder.

I watched 3 different tuturials on putting the bottoms on these baskets...interesting, as one does it like the dixie cups, with the tabs on the outside and the other two like me with the tabs on the inside. Putting them on the inside is a little trickier, but I like the finished look better....has anyone done it both ways, and which do you prefer!

Pictures were taken at dark, so they are a little darker then I would like, but I couldn't wait unitl daylight to post!

Big Shot Baskets & Blooms

My pre-order of the new Stampin'Up! Holiday Mini Catalog came yesterday....ten new stamp sets, a new punch, plus...oh boy!! I also ordered the Big Shot Special Edition Starter Kit....I got the Big Shot, but most of the dies were backordered, with the exception of the Baskets & Blooms. Now, I know I can use all my other dies in it, but I WANTED my new stuff...boohoo!

But at least I had the blaskets and bloom die to play with. My daughter came out today and we played with all my "tools". I think I have created another "card~paper addict", as she already does scrapbooking, so why not add this to it???

I made the basket on the left last night and together we made the basket on the right....these are addicting, too, and we used the yummy new SU DS paper Autumn Vine. It was fun and she is coming back tomorrow to work on some Bella cards, yep, I got her hooked on those too, she colored one in with chalks while she was here! She recently ran the JDRF Crop (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and wants to send thank you notes to all the donors of prizes, food and our crop location at Pages In Time!

I have a few more things almost ready to post, so please check back!

Naughty or Mice?

I love the little House Mouse guys and friends, though I only own a few. I stamped several of these images on different papers to see which I liked best, (now I did this ages ago), and decided to actually finish one! The image is by Stampabilities and called Relaxing Bubbles.

Now what do you suspose he is dreaming of in the tub.....maybe what Santa will bring him? Is he thinking have I been Naughty or Mice?

I used my SU markers to color in the tub, giving it the bright red Christmas feel.....his body was done with SU watercolor pens. The design was stamped on watercolor paper.

The background of the card I used my Riding Hood Red paper and embossing it with my new CB folder. Pretty simple card really. I am sure I will be posting the other "test" papers I stamped him on at a later date!

Today is the day my new SU Holiday Mini items are arriving! I am so excited as I also ordered the new Big Shot.....maybe tomorrow I will have some of it posted!!!!!!

Happy Teapot Tuesday #12

Today I did my card for the inspiration challenge "Happy Teapot Tuesday #12". You can find the link here http://mothermark.blogspot.com/ if you want to join along.

As you can see this was one cool teapot to inspire us! I had to really think this one thru as I only have a few owl images (so far), but I had recently purchased this new set from Stampin'Up! called "Owl Together Now". This is the cutest set!! I ran a piece of very vanilla cardstock thru my crimper (I find I have been using this tool alot this week.....get yours out and try it), then I took my chocolate chip ink pad and ran it over the crimped edges. I found a teapot cookie cutter I had and traced it and cut it out. The teapot lid is a yummy chocolate brad! The owls are perched on some "branches" I cut with a MS punch. The background paper is of course "chocolate chip" that I embossed with my CB folder. I added some ribbon and the sentiment, its also from the same SU Owl set! The base card is kraft cs.

You can see more of the teapots on Split Coast Stampers by typing MMTPT12, if you want to see some of the past teapot challenges, just change the last to numbers to MMTPY11 and so on.

Tutorial Site for Note Card Set Below!

Here is the blog that I found the tutorial on for the Note Card set I have below this post! Thanks for asking and have fun making them! http://flowerbug.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/05/3-pocket-note-card-gift-folio.html
Check out her other tutorials, she has some really neat ones!

IMPROVISED Fall Note Card Set

Folder that holds the cards with crimped belly band.
The notecards.....simple!
The inside pockets.

I saw the instructions for this note card set on another blog. I had to change mine a little bit, as the note cards used were from SU, and I didn't have those. Do you have a room FULL of stampin "stuff", but still seem to lack what you need, like me? I find that so frustrating, and you can improvise, but sometimes, it just causes problems like it did for me. Everything was fine, but my envelopes were a little larger then the card, hence, they would not fit in the pocket of the card folder. I had to improvise again, tied a ribbon around them and they just "sit" inside the folder...works fine, but I think with my next SU order, those notecards are going to be on it!

Anyhow, I tried to keep it simple and just used a few items to tie them all together. The set calls for a sheet of 4 postage stamps, guess what, I didn't have any stamps either!! So, again, I improvised with some stickers to seal the envelopes with, I had a box of round, blank stickers I thought I would use, but, the stickim' wasn't any good, they went in the trash, and guess what? Yep, you guessed it, I improvised again! This time I just used a part of address labels.....all in all I think they turned out kind of cute. Oh, did I mention that I used my Xyron adhesive machine to cover one of the cover fronts, and managed to put the adhesive on the right side (or should I call it the wrong side of the paper).....time to quit and do something else!
If you would like the instructions, just leave me a comment and I can post the blog I found it on!

From Courtney's Closet #16

Here is the challenge "From Courtney's Closet" #16. You can find all the info and the challenge

here if you want to join in!

This week was hard for me only because the colors were pink and brown and cupcakes...hard because I have lots of cupcake images, lots of pink and browns, which meant I had to choose...that was HARD...LOL! so I had just received my new SU cupcake wheel, so I HAD to use that right off, I added some stickles to a few of the cupcakes for sparkle. I also used my QuicKutz cupcake die, this is a discontinued die, which I think was a big mistake on their part!

It was a fun challenge.......I wonder what courtney will be wearing this week!

You can see all the other challenges on Split Coast Stampers by going here or just typing FCCC in the gallery! Check it out, there are some great cards, of course you can always look at the link I posted above to Libby's Little Addiction to see all the cards!
