3 + 1 = Cute ~ and a Thank You

This week the challenge at "City Crafters" is 3 + 1 = cute.....
Meaning, use 3 different  patterned papers and one solid cardstock.....
For my patterened paper, I chose this gorgeous paper I just purchased a few weeks ago
from Authentique...it is a 6 x 6 pad (my downfall) of 48 lovely double sided sheets!

I got my inspiration from a card I had seen on the Graphic 45 blog.....
I changed it up a BIT to fit the challenge.....
the chipboard piece in the center is  Graphic 45 from their "Little Darlings" collection....
my solid cardstock is Regal Rose from SU, which I embossed....
the flower button and glitter brads are also SU....

Now I would like to "thank" "City Crafters" for giving me a guest design spot
on their wonderful blog the week of Dec 11th....
I am very excited about it, and have my plans in place....
you can see my winning entry HERE

I will be back tomorrow with another challenge and another "thank you"....:>)

Color My Week #4~and A "Thank You"

I had fun making this card after an entire day of a "migraine".....
it felt good to be able to get up and create....
this week at "The Creative Paper Trade" the challenge is "fall sweeties"...
using the photo below for inspiration.....

I made a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch card using some SU confetti card stock as my base.....

the background paper I kept soft with paper from My Minds Eye Lost & Found...
the wreath was cut with another of my newest dies from Impression Obsession...
(yes Suzi, you should get this die...lol)....
the little "felt" leaves were cut from a Memory Box die Twigs and Berries...
I LOVE how these dies will cut the wool felts....
the sentiment is Hero Arts....
so...where is my purple you ask??
the little gems on the leaves and the sentiment is stamped with SU "Elegant Eggplant"...

So now onto the "thank you".....it goes to The Creative Paper Trade for
selecting my entry last week for the winner....you can see it HERE
and you should see my yummy prize...I am so excited!!

I have a few more thank yous I will post with other challenges this week...
let's just say it was a very nice and appreciative week for me!!

Tip Top Shape #3 ~Stars~

Now did the post title get your attention??
It's the name of the challenge at The Creative Paper Trade this week....
you should go and give these challenges "a go"....
they are creative and fun and the "samples" the DT create are gorgeous!!

So, onto my entry.....I used a new die I purchased a week ago.....
can you imagine all the fun I will have with this baby...woowho...
it is called "Starry Wreath" from Memory box....
I stamped the word "dream" on crean satin ribbon...
she just looked like she was dreaming of becoming a "star"....
the background paper reminded me of skate tracks on the ice....
my skater was cut from my Cricut...I used perfect pearls on her skirt....
I meant to ink her edges, but had her mounted before I realized I had'nt done it...
I get so mad at myself when I forget things like that!!!...

I also added some crystal beads to the ends of my bow (left over from my beading days)...
they add so much sparkle.....then a bit of vintage lace and she is done....hope you like it!

they have a 3rd challenge going, but I won't be able to finish mine....
we are leaving today to go North to "winterize" our summer home....
and I have not yet packed one thing.....
we take 3 cats and a dog with us...and I have tons to do.....
but I will have no internet and no paper supplies...ugh...what will I do!!!!

Festive Fall at The Creative Paper Trade

The new challenge at The Creative Paper Trade is Festive Fall....
they have a very different kind of challenge going on...
3 different challenges.....all fun and creative...you might want to check it out!

I made this card for the color my week #3...
the felt flowers I made last night to let them dry overnight.....
I have a tiny little die from My Favorite Things that I used to make these little rolled beauties...
the tiny leaf is cut also from felt...one of my newest dies from Memory Box...

the little bird is a tag that says "best wishes" inside, the second picture shows it better....

Don't forget to scroll on down to see my stained glass card....

Stained Glass Notre Dame Cathedral Doily

I have been working on this beauty on and off the last few days.....
This is one of the most gorgeous dies I own.....
there is so much you can do with it......
it is from Cheery Lynn Designs and called Notre Dame Cathedral Doily
I saw a video of it on the Cheery Lynn site on it's release day
and enjoyed the story of how it came to be....
and also since I live about 15 miles from the Notre Dame campus
here in the states, I think it had my name all over it...LOL...

I did another of the "stained glass" techniques on it....
coloring on micro fine transparent glitter with my Copic's....
love how it turned out!!!
See the little pine branches??
they are a new release this month from Cheery Lynn also...
they come on a strip in 2 sizes....
I was thrilled to get these as my MS pine branch punch broke....
and because of the problem with the nerve damage in my left hand
this die makes it super easy for me to use....and...
it will cut thru the thicker glitter paper like I used on my card yesterday...
I am entering this in the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge blog
the challenge being "texture"....you can't get much more texture then this glitter!!
and also  Crafty Friends Challenge "All Things Glitz and Glam"

I wanted to show you the die....

and what it looked like before I glittered it and colored it...

and want to mention I purchased my supplies from Joan's Gardens
thanks...hope you enjoyed my post today!!

Take A Leap ~ CFC75

I just love this "leaping deer" by Memory Box.....
the die cuts like butter....smooth...and this was a thick glitter paper...

tip:  always tape your die down because sometimes (most times) you have to run it thru
your machine more then once, and I normally use a metal shim
I purchased from Cheery Lynn Designs, it does the trick everytime!!

I made this cute card using a Spellbinders die for the base and center....
the ribbon is "over the edge" as that is the challenge this week at
 CAS-ual Fridays CFC75
and
also for "the circle" challenge at
The Catered Crop

both the sentiment and the deer are "popped" up
Can you imagine the fun I will have making tags with this die!!!!!

A Winter Scene

It's a nice bright sunshiney morning here after 4 or 5 days of rain.....
I should be making a "sunshine" card.....
but the challenge at Joan's Garden is to show
A favorite winter pastime...use black embossing...use a frame...and a dimensional

I might be pushing it with "the frame", but I used black CS and "framed" the entire card...
I used a new Nellie Snellen embossing folder called "snowman"
purchased from Joan's Gardens
and a new die from Dee's Distinctively called Snow Covered Stacker Tree...
I love how it cuts in 5 sections and you can stack it up for dimension....
there is also a some more new dies out from this company...
one is a cottage...wow, the detail...

I had it on my order and then took it off
as my order had gotten so "big"....
now I notice it is sold out...geez, and I had it almost in my hot little hands!!

And because it's Sunday and is "family day" to me
I wanted to share pictures of two of my sweet granddaughters (sisters)
Alanah and Harley
the photos are taken by my wonderful photographer daughter
at Lori Diane Photography

Have a nice Sunday...and will be back tomorrow with some more "new" things!!

Halloween Pinwheel

My second post for today..make sure to scroll down and see my stained glass window!!

I made this fun card for the City Crafters Challenge "Fanciful Pinwheels" in Halloween colors
I love pinwheels, and it wasn't a hardship to make one...lol...

I had bought a new Savvy die for this cute little pinwheel ... so I finally got to use it....

the corner spider web is a die from Cheery Lynn Designs...
well, that's it for me until tomorrow...I "have" to clean my creative room...ugh!

Stained Glass Window

After doing my post yesterday (see below)...
I just had to finish my stained glass window....
I am entering it in the challenge at "Lets Craft and Create"
challenge #56 Dimension

The color combinations are endless with this technique
I have explained in yesterdays post.....
I used 2 new dies I bought last week from Joan's Gardens
Memory Box Tiny Tendrils and Poppystamps Grand Gothic Stained Glass
that little tendril leaf die is only $3.99 and I can see myself using it alot!!

here is a repost of the die cut before I colored on the micro glitter....

I can see me buying more of this glitter.....

Puttin On The "Glitz"

I have a super fun card to share with you today......
Awhile back I purchased several sheets of
Elizabeth Craft Design Peel Off Stickers

Now, these stickers are not like normal stickers, as you peel them with tweezers
to apply to your choice of background
and can color them in....however, after doing a workshop at Joan's Gardens
several months back, I learned how to add glitter to them and then color them in with Copics
super fun and easy and the results are amazing....
the only thing is, I highly recommend you make sure you clean your Copics off
when done....I just run mine across the tip of my fingers to remove all the glitter
I do have very colorful fingers at the moment...lol....

I have shown you what the stickers look like, the bottom one is after I removed it
from the package.....
I forgot to take a picture before I colored it in, so am showing you another project I am working on to color the glitter ....
this is what it looks like after adhered to the Score Tape Paper
and before coloring

this one is a die, I will show the finished project in the next day or so.....
the glitter you want to use is Crystal Glitter  Ritz Transparent Micro Fine....
it does come in several colors, but this is the one you can color on.....
I used the Score Tape sheet to adhere my sticker on, then added the glitter....
if you want to know anymore about any of these items, just ask...
I am entering this in the

Spooky Halloween

Whoot whoot...I LOVE how this card turned out.....
I just wish it showed in the picture how everything is "popped" up....
I used one of my favorite dies the screen door from Cheery Lynn Designs...
it comes with the cat, too....

the door was cut with DCWV paper and backed with real screen....
the spider web on the door is a Cheery Lynn Lace Corner Deco H die....
let me tell you, I have got a lot of "mileage" out of this die.....
the number is B173 if you find you just have to have it!!

the little sign on the door "Happy Halloween" is an oldie I have had for-ev-a'
see the little bat brad holding the sign on the door...sweet!!
the broom was cut with a Cricut Teressa Collins cartridge....
the background of the house is a Martha Stewart Halloween paper

to use corner adorners.....

New Day ~ Busy Day

Well, after spending most of my day yesterday doing 9 challenges over at Unity,
I am just not sure what to "create" today......
so think I will share my projects I did last Friday at a workshop at Joan's Gardens.....

The first card is a "flip" card created with a Sizzix die....
look at that lovely mini Poinsettia...a die from Marianne Designs...

several dies used in this project...like the new candle die are also a Marianne die....
I am not going to list them all, but if you have a question about one, just ask....
all of them can be purchased from Joan's Gardens...
and she only charges "actual shipping ....which I love!!

The second card is a winter scene.....
it also uses the new Marianne die for the snowman.....
it has a lot of "sparkle", which you might be able to see by clicking on the photo

The 3rd card is interesting....
the background is alchohol inks and egg shells...
the tutorial for it is on Splitcoast Stampers.....
It was a fun day with wonderful food and lots of stamping "new" friends.....
the link to Joan's can be found on my blog list.....
She will posting pictures on her blog today as well

the challenge is "banners or pennants".....
My banner is from a long past "kit of the month" from Unity "June 2009"
just goes to show you, these stamps are very versatile.....

and trimmed some new Authentique Paper called "Glowing"
the ribbon is a last tiny bit I used up (yeah)!!

That's it for tonight.....but will be back with several more cards
