Grows With Love

A new challenge is starting at The Sisterhood of Crafters
and is being hosted by our 'sistah' Darlene
and she has chosen as our theme
'Create Your Own Background'!

My birthday was back in October and I treated myself to a nice
'hefty' order at The Greetery and one of the things in that order
was their very cool Shiplap builder die.
This die is so fun to work with and makes awesome backgrounds.

After die cutting all the shiplap pieces I inked them with
Dew Drop Gray Flannel ink.
I actually created several more but all with different color inks,
this die is addicting!
They will show up on my blog at a later date I am sure!

The cute bear stamp/die  is from The Scrapping Cottage (Cottage Cutz)
Chole w/ Flowerpot, Wreath, Flowers
and includes the die with it!
This is a retired set and priced reasonable
so I have given you the link if interested!

I also added a sentiment from a stamp set I won from
Pink & Main 'Spring Train'.
It was die cut with a new slimline die set
Dotted Rectangles from Tutti Designs.
I kind of cacked it to one side
which I am usually not a fan of but it seemed to work for this card!

If you would like to see more fun and inspiring backgrounds
then head on over to The Sisterhood and see all the
amazing backgrounds my 'sistah's have created!!

Winter Wonderland

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today:

This is my last winter card for January,  I hope I have

inspired you different ways to use these winter dies,
I know I sure have fun with them!

For the Winter wonderland Window,
I colored a tiny bit with Copics and also die cut
the birdies, penguins and snowman hat with
scraps and paper pieced them in to add some color.
I also used a Nuvo Gloss pen on the icicles and snow
for a shimmery look.

The sentiment was computer generated and I used one of the newly
released Slimline Nesting Dotted Rectangles to cut it out.

Thinking of You

It's time for a new challenge theme at Double D Challenges
and the theme is 'Flowers In Containers' ,
such a nice switch from all the holiday cards we have been creating!

We have a pretty mood board just to inspire you!

For my card I created a simple one using some
new to me and never used before products.

I have fallen for stamps and dies from The Greetery and also Lawn Fawn
and some seem to fall into my cart with every shopping spree
!

This card uses the mason jar stamp~die and stencil set
along with a die and stamp from Lawn Fawn.

Another favorite of mine and you can't have  too many of in
my opinion are the Altenew Ink Cubes.
I love that these sets I purchased come in sets of four
with the inks ranging from light to dark
and take all the guess work out when using the layering stamps or stencils.

I had a lot of fun with this card using the supplies I did
and you can just as easily turn this into a fall card
by switching the colors.

Take a visit to Double D and join in with us and see all the beautiful
creations from the design team!!

Products Used:

Winter Cottage

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today:

Today I am back with another winter card
this time using the Tutti Designs Winter Cottage.
Like I have mentioned before these winter dies
make a great card just for sending to remind someone
you are thinking of them or even a winter birthday!

I once again used my powders and water spritz on watercolor paper
to create the background.  These particular powders also
have some metallic in them so they have a nice sheen/sparkle going on.

For my sentiment, I stamped on the smallest of the
dotted rectangles set.  Pretty easy card to send out!

Christmas In January Challenge

I don't make New Years Resolutions but I do make 'note'
of things I want to accomplish in the new year
and one of those is create more Christmas cards for Years end!

I saw this challenge last week and created this card for it.
I had it made last week but never had the 'oomph' to get it loaded.
My sickness has really dragged me down and so it just sat.

The challenge is CAS Christmas and is:

I used a NBUS Cheapo die Carolers for my card,
the sentiment is a Lawn Fawn stamp and die...pretty easy peasy!

Such a fun challenge and now I am one 'easy mailer' ahead!

Stitched Snowflakes

Welcome to a new challenge at
Dies R Us!
As I mentioned in the last challenge our theme
will always be ANYTHING GOES from now on!

In keeping within the cold month of January here in Michigan
I created another 'cold' card!

I have a lot of different snowflake dies so I put this pretty set
from Lawn Fawn to good use!
I just LOVE the stitching on them!

I also used the Tutti Designs Stitched Banners layered
to put the large snowflake on.

One of MY favorite things on this card is the stamped and die cut
Lawn Fawn Winter Big Scripty Words!
The die is pretty easy to line up with your stamped sentiment
as it cuts a nice edge around the words leaving room for error!

Here are the links for what I created with plus a few more:

Happy Birthday

Hey, it's Wednesday the 13th-did I get your attention?

It is also a new theme challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters
and being hosted by our 'sistah' Annie!

She has chosen the theme of embossing and/or dies!
I used both on my card.

I decided to make 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" card and a birthday one at that.
I used an old embossing folder that I have had for ages
and one that has not been used before.
It is a Spellbinders M-Bossabilities folder,
and it has been so long I had to watch a youtube video of how to use it!
Gosh the video was from March 2013~what would we do without youtube?

I have bags of pre-cut die cuts, all sorted by color
so I decided this might be a good time to pull something from there.
The Precious Marieke Flowery die was in the 'white' bag
along with the butterfly, so I put them to use!
I added a bit of glue and scor-tape to the butterfly then sprinkled glitter on.

The sentiment and die it's on is from Lawn Fawn.
I stamped the sentiment with Altenew Turquoise ink.

This is a very easy challenge so why not head on over to The Sisterhood
and see all the pretty offerings from my 'sistahs' and join in with us too!

Winter Forest Scene

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today:

Hello Tutti friends, Diane here today featuring another winter
card using the Winter Forest die.
Each Tuesday of January I  will be featuring a different
winter die.  These dies are great to send a winter hello
or even a winter birthday wish!

This summer I created several different background panels
using some of my various powders and waters
and used one of these for the back of my die.

If you could see this IRL, you would see that the powders
contain a metallic shine, giving a lot of sparkle to the scene.

The snowflakes above in the 'sky' are the tiny
leftover pieces from die cutting this die,
I think they came in pretty handy!

Happy Birthday Double D

Can you believe we are into January and a new year?
I certainly hope we all have a MUCH better year!

January also brings us to a new challenge theme and
mood board at Double D AND it is our 5th year
of our challenge, we are so proud of what we have accomplished!

To celebrate our 'birthday/anniversary' we are starting the year
out right with CUPCAKES....YUM!!

Here is the mood board we are using for inspiration:

I have a lot of cupcake dies and stamps and my biggest decision
was deciding what to use, but I think I purchased this Cottage Cutz die
Birthday Cupcake w/Lemon Slice just for this challenge!
They have the best sales, sometimes up to 85% off and if you subscribe
you won't miss a thing!

I used all the pieces on my cupcake but the sprinkles,
I figured the 'frosting' on the cupcakes was perfect just the way it was.
This summer I made several background pieces using my various
powders and this is what I used to cut the tops from.
There is a bit of metallic here and there.
The powders I used were new ones I had just purchased from Dies R Us
Lindy's Gang Magicals, the magic being they have a shimmery metallic in them!

I decided to die cut three cupcakes and create a slimline card.
My base is die cut using a Tutti Designs Dotted Rectangle
using the second largest, from their new slimline series!

The sentiment is from a cupcake set I have and not sure of the maker.
The inside of the card says 'Sweet Birthday Wishes'.

So, I certainly hope you will join in our celebration of cupcakes
over at Double D and check out all the YUMMY creations from the team,
we have a super fun prize to give away to one random winner!!

Winter Wonderland

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today:

It's January in Michigan and that means it's pretty darn cold!

So being a cold month here, I thought I would focus on a wintery scene.

I embossed a snowy background for the card front.
This summer I created a lot of colorful backgrounds using the
many different powder products that are available and water.
This one was a tad shy of covering the back open part of the
Winter House Frame die so I used one of the nesting oval dies to
complete the back.  Any one of the nesting oval sets will work.

To finish I stamped a wintery sentiment!
Come back next Tuesday for more of the 'Winter' die scenes!

Brrr Igloo and Penguin

It's a new challenge starting today at
Dies R Us
and we have something new for our challenges!
From here on out they will be an EASY Anything Goes!

I am pretty excited about it as I own so many fun dies
and now can use anything my heart desires as long as
Dies R Us carries the brand in their store and that means YOU can too!

I did decide however to try and use dies that 'flow' with
the particular month it is.

That being said, to me January is a cold snowy month
here in Michigan so I chose to go with a cold and snowy card!

I used a cute igloo and penguin die set from Impression Obsession
and a snowflake embossing folder for the background.
The BRRR I created by using an Alpha die by Cheapo dies.

The only thing I wish I had done is add some snowy pine trees behind the igloo!

Here are the links for the dies I used:

creations form my team mates and join in with us too, YOU could win a $10
