Stamping On Candles & My Daffodils!!

I finally had the chance to stamp on a few candles I purchased at Michael's a few weeks ago. Talk about easy~peasy! So fun, I could never tire of this! I used stamps from Stampin'Up!, just perfect sizes for these candles...don't you LOVE the little tree one? Its from the newest mini occasions catalog~includes a little deer, bunny and an owl for only $14.95! The other sets I used were Always and Friends, two of my very favorites! I have a little vendor show next Thursday and these candles will make their "appearance" there! If you are in the Niles area, it is at Ballard School on Chicago Road from 4 to 7...come see us! The instructions for stamping on candles can be found on Split Coast Stampers...go and try some!

The "daffy's" are from my gardens...I have about 14 different kinds and love them. Tulips are my all time favorites, but just can't keep them, the bulbs get eaten and I have given up! Once I had these luscious peach tulips, was so excited to see the beautiful heads just getting ready to burst open, next morning went out to look at them....you guessed it...gone....the deer had a tasty midnight snack....!

Always Behind~Always Late

I had intended to make one of these aprons to submit to SU for the Artisan Awards contest. I also ordered ribbon, buttons, a scrapbook kit and more just for this contest, and guess what.....yep, I never did one darn thing!!! That seems to be my life story lately.....nothing completed! The apron I was going to make (and still will as I have all the parts) was to be much fancier then this one, I wear this one to my workshops, and it was my first "attempt" ! I used regular inks to stamp on it, and Staz On, for the one I was going to submit I had purchased all the craft inks in the bold colors...I will have that one on later! Maybe I can submit next year!!!

Stamp TV Scrapbook Challenge #8

This is my second entry at Stamp TV (link is located on my left sidebar), each week they have several new challenges, winners receive a free stamp set of their choice $24.95 or less from Gina K Designs, winners are chosen random, but it sure is fun to do the challenges...keeps me somewhat motivated to scrapbook!
This page layout was another very fun one! I chose my grandaughter "Ally" to feature in this one. Ally is 14, she is my grandaughter with Juvenile Diabetes, which is how I came across Gina K Designs in the first place, as she has "stamps for a cause" and of course I had to purchase the diabetes set. Gina K donates a portion of the stamp sales from these sets...now how great is that??
The paper I used is from Fancy Pants, all the cardstocks are Stampin'Up!, the quote is a pre-printed one that says "Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail". I thought this was the perfect quote for Ally! The other sentiments or words were printed on my computer!

Its Been Awhile Since I Posted!

Sorry I have been away so long! Easter took up alot of my time and I have been Spring cleaning my sewing/craft room (still), seems it will never get done, but I keep changing it around and loading up for the Goodwill! Yesterday was gorgeous outside, so spent the entire day cleaning up my flower beds! Lots more to do, and today is to be very nice, too! Next week back in the 40's and cool, so will be back inside to do more "creating". With all that being said, I thought I would post a few new pics of the baby kitties, they just turned 6 weeks old, now if I could just find good homes for them! They live in my hubbys "man room" in the garage for now. I call them my little "peeps" as they are always glad to see me, and "peep" their little heads up when I enter the room.....they are also "cry babies" as you can see with the one photo!

Hoppy Easter

I bought this stamp a few weeks ago in the clearance bin at Michaels. It is from Stamps Happen, and called Butterbean with Carrots~don't you just love the name??? Easter is almost here and gone, and since I have very few "real" Easter stamps, I decided to make this card into a birthday card. The sentiment "Hoppy Birthday" is from a 2000 Stampin'UP! set called funny bunny. I picked this set up last year at a garage sale for $2.00!!! The cardstock is Apricot Appeal, the DS paper is some I received from a friend...inside of card is stamped "You're somebunny special" from the same set. I colored the bunny in with a combination of SU watercolor pencils and watercolor crayons and a blender pen. Have a nice Easter weekend!

Punched Circles Card

While I was blogging yesterday I visited http://creatingkeepsakesblog.com/ and found this lovely ,beautiful punched circle flower card. I decided to give it a try last night after watching Idol. You are to punch 8 circles and fold into thirds, adhere the circles to a card base and trim around to give it a flower shape. The first one I punched, I didn't notice that the paper was only one sided, I hate paper that has writing all over the back of it, a pet peeve of mine, so I had to adhere the "petals" to each other, added some Stickles, its okay, but not what I was looking for! The next 3, I used double sided paper, all SU, I added a ninth punch to get it to fill out, I must of done something wrong, but each time I needed that 9th punch....maybe I will give it a try one more time! These are definitely a hand carry card, or you could use it as a tie on for a gift, or wouldn't it just be fun to put one on a co-worker's friends desk, just because! I also got the "not so bright idea" to use my scallop punch and punch my circles from that, great idea, BUT, I had to cut around each scallop, I think if I would of used a Nesties Scalloped circle die to adhere my punches to, it would of worked better! The punch I used was the largest circle punch from SU, 1 3/4"

What A Hoot Scrapbook Page

I made this scrapbook page to enter in the Gina K Stamp TV challenge. If you haven't been to the site, go there, lots to do and look at and great tutorials on everything! I have the Stamp TV icon on the left of my blog, just click on it and it will take you there!
This page layout was sooooooooo easy, I might add more to it later, I have to study it for awhile. My grandson Brenton had a school project, he chose photography as my daughter has her own photography business (under Lori Diane Photography on my blog list). She coached him on what to do, his sister "Chrissie" was his model. I think he did a great job...don't you??
The paper I just bought a couple of days ago, can't believe I am actually "using" it so fast! I LOVE it, its from My Mind's Eye!

Owl Together Now & Another Matchbox

Finally got my workshop put together, just not with it today...time for a nap! I made another box with the SU match box die, I can't leave that thing alone! Don't you just love the paper? It's SU Paper Bella Rose....so yummy! This is for a give away tonight. Next, for the workshop, I finally decided on doing the candy bar pull, it has been such a hit at my other workshops (I think they like getting the candy bar...LOL)! I did 2 others as samples and decided on this one for tonight...so fast, so fun, so cute! I finally put my SU "Owl Together Now set to good use....I think the owls will be a hit, they are so popular right now! Well, thats it, short and sweet...I need a nap before tonight!

Happy Easter Card

Finally a new post! This card was made using up more "scraps"! I had stamped this image ages ago from a stamp I have had for years....I added stickles to the "peep", used a "Nestability Scalloped Oval", Stampin Write markers~Alphabits (retired),the new Eyelet Border punch, Certainly Celery CS....all from Stampin'Up! The felt flowers were from the $1 bins at Target a few years back!
Short post, but I am in the process of putting together the finishing touches for a SU workshop for tonight...more later!

Altered Prayer Journal

I did a swap on SCS for a for an altered journal called "a prayer journal". I loved how this one turned out, and wanted to keep it for myself...LOL! I used some new paper from K&Company~it has such a vintage look to it! The book has lots of detail through out , but could not show all of it here. I made a bookmark to go with it, 4 little notecards are in the back tucked in a "pocket". Also at the back of the book in an envelope is a vintage "Blessings" little booklet. I hope the recipient loves it as much as I do! The sentiment on the front cover is from "Unity Stamp Company", a newly discovered stamp company for me! If you click on the pictures, you can read all the sentiments pictured. I used the Stampin'Up! Spiral Punch for the front and back covers. It fits perfectly in the coils when you punch your paper.....for only $10.95 its worth its weight in gold for projects like this! If you would like to order one...just email me and I would be happy to place your order! As you can see, I also used the Stampin'Up! Eyelet border punch, I grab for this one all the time, it has become a favorite!
Also please note the NEW Stampin'Up! Occasions mini catalog is now available to order from. Click on the catalog picture on my side bar and it will take you to my web site for viewing, click on promotions and view the entire catalog! Remember those cute little matchbox boxes in some of my previous posts? The die for them is in the mini.....I am telling you~you will LOVE this die, its a "must have"!!!
