Poppies For You

 Hello Friends!
Today I am sharing a card I created especially for the
Stay Crafty With a Blog Name Hero  August 2023 challenge.
where the theme is ANYTHING GOES.

I recently purchased and just received a new
Hero Arts Coloring Layering Stencil Golden Poppies.
I grow poppies in my own gardens, Red~Orange~Pink Doubles
so this pretty stencil really appealed to me (plus I am addicted to stencils)!
I decided since we will soon be sliding into FALL
to make my stenciled poppies orange using a mix of inks,
Distress saltwater taffy, spiced marmalade for the flowers with
Memento black ink for the centers and Memento Bamboo Leaves for the greens.
The sentiment is from The Ton.

Sketch 733

A new sketch at Sketch Saturday and it's a pretty simple one!!
The optional 'TWIST' is to add some sequins!

I went with a very simple design letting my designer paper do most of the work!
I added a handmade flower with leaves, a simple sentiment, and for the twist
added some sequins!

Won't YOU join us at Sketch Saturday?  Head on over and see
all the inspiration from the design team!!

Happy Birthday Poppies

A new challenge theme starts today at
Can You Handle The Pressure and it is an OPTIONAL theme of POPPIES!
Of course you MUST use an embossing folder, wet embossing can
be added in addition but an EB folder is required!

For my design team card I used an old poppy set from JustRite
Poppies Labels Twenty Nine set.  My embossing folder is a newer
folder Spellbinders 3D Flower Frenzy.
I stamped the poppies on a Cottage Cuts die
then colored in with Copics.
The sentiment is from Stampendous!

We would love to see you at our
Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge!!

Make A Scene

At The Sisterhood of Crafters our theme is to make a scene!

I have had this card in my photos just waiting for the right time to
feature it and decided it would be a good card for this theme.

I know this probably looks like an odd card for an anniversary
but my cousin contacted me and she wanted a special
anniversary card for her husband that was all about elephants ,
so who am I to question that, right?

I used Lawn Fawns Shadow Box card for the base,
birch tree and cloud dies along with some elephants
from Cricut Design Space.
I guess it was a hit with her hubby.

Head on over to The Sisterhood and check out all the fun scenes
created by my 'sistahs'!!  Join in with us too, we would love to see YOUR scenes!!

Peace On Earth Challenge #46

At Peace On Earth our challenge celebrates Christmas
all year round and we aways have a fun mood board for you
but it's just for inspiration and you can create anything you
want as long as it is Christmas themed!!

POE Inspiration Mood Board

When I saw all these barns Dar put in the mood board I thought of my AI
Victorian House and Barn
stamp set. pulled it out and started to create my card,
minus the Victorian house.

After I stamped and colored it, I added perfect pearls to the roof and silo top
and crystal stickles on and around the fence.  Trees were die cut from Impression Obsession
and the Merry Christmas is a Cheery Lynn Designs die.

Won't you join us at Peace On Earth and get a jump on YOUR holiday cards??

TOB August Mid Month Reminder

It's time for our mid month reminder for our challenge at
Two Old Bats .
We have an inspiration board to give you a few ideas
of where to start but you don't have to use it,
it's any anything goes challenge as long as it is Halloween themed.

Inspiration Board

I once again let the crow inspire me, I have had this Cheapo pumpkin/crow die
for awhile now and not sure if I have ever used it before!
Once cut out I colored it in with Copic markers.
I used a few scraps from my Halloween scrap bag and a sentiment
from Art Impressions!

There is still plenty of time if you would like to join us at our
Two Old Bats challenge and IF we have 25 or more players
we have a prize to give away!!

Sunflowers

Hello Friends, it's time again for a new challenge theme at
Double D Challenges and it is

 SUNFLOWERS

We have s sunflowery mood board for inspiration
and can't wait to see YOUR Sunflower projects!!

I stamped an older sunflower stamp from Penny Black (1997)
given to me by my friend!
After coloring it in with Copics I added a piece of
sunflower vellum underneath but used the back side as I wanted a bolder color to show.
I purchased this pack of 8x8 Crafters Companion last year
and this is the first time I have used it.
Of course I had to add some gold gems for a bit of sparkle.

We hope to see YOU over at Double D with your Sunflower project
and take a peek at all the beautiful creations from the Design Team too!

Trouble A Barrell of Monkeys Challenge

It's time for a new challenge theme at A Barrel of Monkeys
which is all about using kids toys and games as our starting point and today
we have the fun game of TROUBLE.
How do you see it?
Maybe the colors, the shape, the dots/circles?

My first thought was to use a dots stencil in all the colors
but while locking through my stencil notebook
I came across this swirl background stencil from Pink Fresh Studio
that I had noticed on someone else's blog and had to order it.
That's why I love it when blog posts are written up with supplies used!
Anyhow, it seemed to me to be the perfect choice for the card I had in mind.
I used all Distress inks for the main swirls,  mowed lawn, salty ocean,
festive berries and squeezed lemonade.  For the shadow swirls I used all
Memento Dew Drop inks.  The hello is from Paper Smooches and the word friend
is from Pink Fresh Studios.  I had some old clear gel like dots I added.

We would love to have you join us at
A Barrel of Monkeys challenge!

Beautiful Blossoms August Challenge

We are halfway into the last month of summer before the kiddos have to go back
to school and it will soon be changing to a more fall like weather
here in Michigan!
August 15th is also a new challenge beginning for Beautiful Blossoms.
We have a pretty mood board for inspiration but you can create
anything with BLOOMS!!

Of course I did let the board inspire me with all the pretty yellows
and sunflowers and a bit of blue thrown in!
I stamped and colored an old stamp (2000) given to me from my friend.
To break up the yellow on all the flowers I added a few dots on the leaves.

Supplies:  Stamp Stampendous, Spellbinders Hemstitch Ovals,
Pretty Pink Posh Party Mix Gems, Card Base Lawn Fawn Sunflower Yellow

Hope to see YOU over at the Beautiful Blossoms Challenge!!

Sketch 732

A new sketch challenge at Sketch Saturday with an
'OPTIONAL'  twist of adding some doodling.

For this card I mainly used some things that I already had pre-cut and pre-made in my stash
making it an easy card to put together!  That being said, I am not sure what the
names of the products I used are with the exception of the edge punch which
is an oldie from Stampin Up.  The sentiment is from Pink Fresh Studio, I love these
as it is a stamp and die that stamps and cuts all in one piece making it so fast and easy!!

To see more inspiration, visit Sketch Saturday and we would love
to have you join us!!

Sending Hugs

A new challenge starts today at
Can You Handle The Pressure
where embossing folders are the featured theme, always!
You can use 'wet' embossing too but an
embossing folder
MUST be used to enter.
We always have an optional theme and this time it's
STRIPES
but like I mentioned it is only optional!

I did use stripes on my card and they came from the
embossing folder itself.  When spellbinders had one of their
warehouse sales I picked up this
diagonal slimline stripes EB folder.

I also used Poppystamps Delightful Daisy, IO ribbon dies
and Pink Fresh Studios Simply Sentiments stamps and dies.

Take a peek over at Can You Handle The Pressure
to see all the pretty DT work and get
those poor neglected EB folders out and
join in with us, we always have a fun prize to give away!

Keep It Simple

At The Sisterhood of Crafters our theme is all about Keeping It Simple
or maybe better known as Clean and Simple (CAS).
Sometimes I find it hard to not add more and then there are times
where I find it easy breezy to keep it CAS like the card I
did for this challenge!

I found I had a love for the collage dies when Memory Box
came out with them and have a nice little collection of them
including this Floral Ball Collage die.

In March, (yep way back in March) I purchased a beautiful
pad of paper by Craft Consortium called Ink Drops-Candy.
I used a piece of that under the flower cut outs
and a sentiment from Altenew's Smiles and Hugs stamp set.

Would love to see YOU over at
The Sisterhood
to see all the pretty inspiration from my 'sistahs'!!

Peace On Earth #45

We are more then half way through our year round challenge at
Peace on Earth and if you have been joining us you should have a nice
collection of Christmas cards for when the season rolls around !

We have a fun mood board for inspiration but you can create
anything you want as long as it is Christmas themed and made by you!

I always try and let the mood board inspire my creations and it was no hard
task this time as I had a fun Christmas Flamingo die from
Cottage Cutz that I was 'itching' to bring out and use.
It was a picky little thing with all the tiny parts but actually pretty easy.  I mean look at the tiny white cuffs on the top of his boots, itty bitty!!
I used to use my card stock paper scraps to cut each color (and sometimes still do)
but learned it is much quicker and easier to cut all from white card stock scraps
then color in each piece which is what I did for this guy!
Isn't he just the cutest??

We would love to see YOU at Peace On Earth!

Best Wishes

 It's our second challenge at
Simply Clean & Simple and our OPTIONAL theme is OUTDOORS!

I definitely created a simple card.  I stamped a 2010 Art Impressions The Wild
stamp for the first time with Memento Cottage Ivy ink, then made a mask
and used a negative die cut circle to stencil blue sky around it.  The sentiment is
from Altenew Sentiments Strips 2.  Can't get any simpler then that!

I hope you will enjoy us for some 'outdoor' fun at
Simply Clean and Simple and check out all the
fabulous design team makes while there!!

August 2023 Triple B Challenge

It's August and we have a new challenge beginning at
Triple B
where we are all about Birds~Butterflies~Blooms!
You can use one, two or all three as long as you do use at least one
on your creation!

As always we have an inspiration board for you and what is better
then a college of sunflowers??
You can choose to follow the mood board or not as anything with any of
the triple B's is fine!!

Inspiration Board

When my friend gave me all her wood block stamps this BIG
Sunflower stamp was among them.
I have never heard of the company before but had to laugh as it is the name of
one of our other challenge blogs.  The stamp is Double D Rubber (1998).
It stamped beautifully but I stamp on a stamp mat from SU with my wood block stamps
and practically give it CPR to make sure I get a complete stamped image,
hence why I love the acrylic stamps and stamp platforms now!!

I stamped on a creamy card stock then colored with Copics and
also dabbed on a couple colors of Distress Inks.
I little banner sentiment was added along with a few Pink Fresh studio gems!

We would love to have YOU join us at Triple B
with your Birds, Butterflies and/or Blooms!!

Yellow Green Color Challenge

Hello All, today is a new challenge color theme at
Colorful Options and it is a Yellow-Green option!

Here is our fun mood board to inspire.
Not a fan of yellow-green?  Then feel free to create
something in rainbow colors!

I have to admit the color combo threw me a bit
but that is what a challenge is right?  To be challenged!!
But after seeing my BFF (Dar) use a marble background stamp she had just purchased
(back in May) it got me to thinking
'gee, I am sure I have a marble background stamp too'
so after digging through my SU stamps, sure enough I found it!!
(first time I have used it too)

To get the yellow/green color I wanted I first stamped it in
TH Distress squeezed lemonade ink and then on top of that with TH
Distress Oxide twisted citron, which I think gave it a nice yellow/greenish effect.

I then pulled out an older (2015) Memory Box Butterfly Exhibit die
that I sponged TH Distress Oxide shabby shutters on.
The sentiment is Pink Fresh Studio.

I hope you will join us for our colorful challenge this month at
Colorful Options!!

Double D Collaboration Challenge With Altenew

Hello friends, it's a new challenge at Double D and we are collaborating with Altenew for our challenge
and it's all about stencils or Anything goes!

Stencils have become the 'rage' over the last few years with all the different
single, layering stencils and some with embossing folders and/or dies!

I know I have certainly become addicted to them and now have two completely
full notebooks of them.  I store each stencil in a page protector then they are in a notebook,
my floral stencils have a notebook all of their own as do my stencils with matching
embossing folders, it has become an easy way to store them and to use them!

As always we have a fun mood board for inspiration.

STENCILS

Altenew has an awesome selection of stencils,
you can check them out HERE.
For MY Altenew card I have used

For some stenciled and beautiful inspiration make sure
to pop on over to Double D and check it out,
we would love to have YOU join us too and always a fun prize up for grabs!!  Not only do we have a prize but Altenew is
offering a $50 gift card to one lucky random drawn winner
and that's not all, for another chance for a gift card

TOB August Halloween Challenge

A new Halloween challenge begins today at
Two Old Bats
and as always it is an anything goes challenge as long
as it is Halloween themed.
We have a fun inspiration board to get those ideas going!

Inspiration Board

For my DT card I used my poor neglected Cricut
and let the top left corner inspire me!
The paper I used reminded me a lot of the image and has been
in my stash of paper and I believe it's called Nightfall.

Seemed like a good fit for my die cuts from Circut.
Did you know there are 11,624 images listed under the word Halloween?
I will never run out of Halloween ideas lol!

Hope you will join us at Two Old Bats
as Halloween will be here before you know it

Four Seasons August Summer

We are into our last Summer season at Four Seasons
and Darlene has created this mood board for inspiration
but you can create anything as long as it is summer themed!

Anything Summer

I went with the daisies in the bottom right corner,
though my daisies are the 'painted daisy variety!

I grow the same painted daisies as the pink ones shown below
one of my favorite summer blooming flowers.

I used a pretty Prima paper from the Magic Love 6x6 pad
for the background.  The lacy die cut is from Cottage Cutz
(gotta love those 80% off sales)!
The flower is PoppyStamps Ragged Daisy an all time favorite die of mine.
I added some Pink Fresh Studio Ballet Slipper gems, I just love these things!!

Make sure and stop by our Four Seasons challenge and check out all the
summer fun from the design team!

Butterflies

Time for our monthly Stencil Fun challenge at
Crazy Is Our Fame Stencils Are Our Game
and our OPTIONAL theme is BUTTERFLIES.

For the theme I once again used a favorite set from Pink Fresh Studios
Butterflies, I have the entire set of stamps, dies, stencils and foil plate.
I stamped the butterfly then stenciled in all his colors then die cut him out!
(or her as the case may be)
I adhered him to a half of an embossed piece from Spellbinders 3D
Flower Frenzy embossing folder.
You can see another version of this by visiting a previous posting HERE.
The sentiment is part of the  stamp set.

These are the stamps, dies and stencils used.

For my Anything Goes stenciled card I used a
beautiful floral stencil from Pink Fresh Studio
Garden Floral.  I have always love the color combo of
lilac and yellow together so went with that for my colors.

Stencil Fun challenge
