Silhouette

Today myself and my BFF from Ohio 'Dar' from Dar's Crafty Creations
have once again gotten together to do a challenge.

We chose Addicted To CAS

I used a NBUS stamp I purchased from one of Spellbinders warehouse sales.
Beauty Wings.

I inked her numerous~numerous times on my platform
to try and get a deep black silhouette,
then made a mask and used Oxide worn lipstick ink to
ink around her.
My original idea was to use many pastel colors
but time became a factor, so I might give that a try later.
I also used Nuvo Mousse to splatter on some gold sparkle.

Make sure and visit Dar's blog to see her 'silhouette creation!!

Happy Birthday

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today.

Hello Tutti fans, Diane with you today with a fabulous die
that allows to you create a pretty birthday card in minutes.
It is the 'Happy Birthday Oval'.

I die cut from a bright green card stock,
then using a Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Oval
I had cut from a light pink card stock and the same bright green
card stock,  I stacked them and placed under the happy birthday oval.

I used a corrugated paper under those and added a few embellishments
and I was done!

Favorite Fun Fold and Happy Birthday

Ready for a new challenge at

I hope so because the 'sistahs' are
and it is being hosted by our very talented 'Sistah Katy'!
She has chosen the theme of
Fun Folds and/or birthdays!

I actually was going to add a birthday to my fold
but totally forgot until I came here to write up the post!

I went with a very fun AND easy fun fold,
a shelf card.
There are many different varieties and names for this
but because I perched my bird on the 'shelf'
I am calling it a shelf card.
I wanted my card to be sturdy to not only stand on it's own
but to be able to hold the bird up as well,
so I went with 110# card stock from Michaels.

The bird stamp and die set are from Cottage Cutz
Sparrow on Post.
These sets can be purchased very reasonably
when they have their periodic sales.

The sentiment is from Elizabeth Crafts.

If you would like to see more fun fold cards

Earth Day

Today is my last guest design at
Word Art Wednesday Challenge blog
and I want to thank Karen and the team for having me,
it was such a pleasure.

Being today is 'Earth Day'
I made a 'green' card,
I kept the sentiment supplied by Karen as my main focus.

I had planned to use a black card stock for the background
but leaving the room for a few then coming back it
went completely out of my head, does that happen to you?
So, I ended up with the green card stock..oh well, it happens!

The patterned paper is from a favorite 6 x 6 pad of mine
by Carta Bella  'Botanical Garden'.
this is another gorgeous pad of paper.
I think I am addicted to pretty papers.
I used to sew and when I started card making
all the papers reminded me of the beautiful fabrics during my sewing days.

Anyhow, the greenery was die cut from a die I received from a friend.
She was moving and had to downsize all her paper crafting
and gifted me with two large Priority boxes of stamps and dies...
I was so thrilled and what a wonderful gift to receive.

The flower I made from my scrap bag of bits and bobs of pieces
I am trying to use up

Hope to see you at Word Art Wednesday where the challenge is always
anything goes!!

Tractor Cards

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today!

Hi Tutti Designs Fans, Diane with you today
with a couple masculine cards using the
TRACTOR die.

My first card was super easy just by using a few
perfect layered papers a stamp that kind of says it all.
I die cut the tractor from green metallic card stock
making it nice and shiny like the real thing!
A piece of twine was added for some dimension.

The next card is one I made for my hubby's Valentine.
He owns about 4 tractors and a backhoe, which looks a lot like the tractor die.
He got a kick out of it, as it just his 'thing'

Now this die could just as well be made into a girlie card
for that tomboy in your life!

Fun With Animals

Some of the girls at Double D once again
got together to play another challenge and this time
the chosen challenge was

Pretty easy as goodness knows I have a ton of animals
(real and also in the craft room)

Since I am way behind in getting my craft room cleaned out
(I can only take so much at a time lol)
I took the super easy way out and grabbed an OLD
(and I mean old) SU stamp set that was not only staring me in the face
waiting for it's permanent home,
but a NBUS at that!

Now to the honest part, when I stamped the sentiment directly on
my card (the last step of course) I got a line of ink
that shouldn't be there...cry cry like a baby...ugh!!

So to save and not redo as time is short,
I punched a circle, inked it and stamped the sentiment on that...
NOT what I was looking for, but it has to make do and now
I sort of like it as it does make the intended 'thank ewe' stand out....

The other girls joining in from Double D
are

Showers and Flowers Challenge

I love the month of April...
it means that soon the birds will be singing,
the flowers will be popping up
and just that nice clean,
fresh air smell of Springtime.

That's what our challenge is about at
Double D...
Showers and Flowers.

We have this beautiful mood board to just
get you inspired...lots to choose from!

I have a fondness for the color yellow,
not only do I love it,
but it was my Mother's favorite color too
and I found myself making her many yellow cards over the years...
I sure miss that!

I picked up the yellow and white polka dot ribbon
from the upper left corner
for my background.
Can you believe it is the back of the floral paper I used for the rain boots?

Speaking of the rain boots, I saw a card made with them at least a year ago
and searched for them and found them at Paper Smooches.
I just HAD to have the die....it includes the little rain drops too...
I added diamond Stickles to mine.

The pretty white doily is from The Scrapping Cottage (cottage cutz)
I wait for their 60 to 80% off sales and load up...
it's a little bit embarrassing how many of their dies I have.

The tiny flowers is an older die from Cheery Lynn Designs,
I am not sure if they even make dies anymore?
The tiny leaves are Impression Obsession,
they sure come in handy here and there.

The banner and sentiment are Lawn Fawn Wavy Banners and sentiments.

So be sure to head on over to Double D and see all the FABULOUS
designs from the Design Team....it is always amazing.
Join in with us as we always have a fun prize to give away!!

Happy Mother's Day

Hello my friends!
As I write up this post (March 6th...yes, I work way ahead lol)
it is a blustery morning, so much so I hope the power stays on!
They are predicting 15 foot waves on Lake Michigan
and that is always a site to see!

Today is also a new challenge theme at Dies R Us challenge blog and it is
SPRING FLOWERS

Goodness, I have so many flower dies (4 books of them)
making it very hard to choose.
But, I have always loved the look of 'doodle flowers' so that is what I chose
Sue Wilson's Stitched Doodle Flowers.
Aren't they just the cutest ever?
They look like felt, but they are cut from scraps of card stock..
I used the new Tutti Designs Cross Stitch Postage Stamp die to make a frame
by stacking one inside the other, then die cut .
I used the center from that for the inside.
To stamp the sentiment I used
Memento Dew Drop Rose Bud Ink.

This card is a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 square..a cute little size
to send for Mother's Day.

Here are the links to the dies I have used.

Butterfly Vine Border

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today.

Hi, Diane here today with the gorgeous
'Butterfly Vine Border' die.

I cut the vine from white card stock
then cut again from a patterned paper
but just trimmed off the butterflies
and added them back on the white die,
just attaching them enough to hold them on and the wings can 'flutter'.
An embossed butterfly panel was added along the side.

The second card I simply die cut the butterfly vine from
a sponged green paper,
added a few  embellishments and papers for a very
pretty card suited for any occasion.

Hoppin' Down The bunny Trail

The Design Team at Double D
got together and decided to join a challenge
to help us get through the pandemic
and we chose the
Cut It Up Challenge

For my bunny card I used a new die
I just received in the mail...can you believe it?
I actually used something new right away...
miracles of all miracles lol.

It is from Cottage Cutz and is the Spring Bunnies Trio,
I just loved the plumpness of these cute bunnies,
There was another one I loved just as well,
so I had to make a choice as I couldn't have both
(my order was already at my max),
but they have terrific sales and I stock up!

I die cut a couple clouds
then used them for a stencil and inked with
Distress Oxide salty ocean and
twisted citron for the bottom half.

Don't be intimidated by all the little pieces
that come with the dies...
using tiny scrap pieces of paper,
I just lay them on the pieces to cut.
(I had photos of this but I had a malfunction
with my camera program and deleted them...ugh!!)

Once all the pieces are cut
I just simply put them together
using tweezers to pick up the tiny pieces
and makes them go together quickly.

I thought it lacked something,
so I tied on a piece of twine to finish off.

Dog Twisters Card

Time for a new challenge at
and is being hosted by our sistah Debbie.
She has chosen the theme of 'KIDS CARDS'.

A while back I saw a new release from Art Impressions
called Twisters and couldn't resist purchasing one
to try out.
It also requires a second die (twist frame die) so it can 'twist,
however once you have that, all the other Twist sets will work with it.
I think there are eight different sets in all to choose from.

For my set I used the Dog Twist Set.
The set includes not only the stamps but the dies as well.
(they also carry them at one of my favorite places to shop

I also used a new (to me) stamp and die set I recently purchased
from Sunny Studio Birthday Balloon die and stamps (sold separately).

The dog can 'twist' to the inside of the card.
This is him twisted 'in'

and this is him on the inside before the 'twist.

I wasn't quite sure how to finish the inside as I want to leave the part that
shows behind the dog blank...
so it just might stay blank.
These were so easy that I can't wait to make more (buy more too ...hah)!!

Happy Easter

Hello friends!
I am guest designing the month of April at
Word Art Wednesday challenge blog!
What an honor it is and I certainly hope I do them justice!

Being Easter is this coming Sunday, we are focusing on that.
I am sure you familiar with WAW and that they have
the most meaningful scriptures.
I made it the focus on my Easter card.

It was printed on card stock then die cut using a Sue Wilson die.
Isn't it pretty?

The paper underneath is from a gorgeous pad from the UK.
It is The Paper Tree  6 x 6 Lakeside Blooms.
each and every sheet included is beautiful.

I also added a cross from Tutti Designs and a flower to finish.

I invite you over to the
Word Art Wednesday blog to see all the fabulous designs by the team
and to join in the challenge, it is always anything goes and
also some fabulous prizes randomly drawn!
See you there!!
