Secret Garden.......

How I long for Spring...
Fresh air, birds singing, digging in the dirt
just getting outside into some warm air would be wonderful!!
Well, that's not going to happen today with 6" of new snow on top of
our already mountains of it and our 3 degree temps!!

But, what I can do is create Spring in my creative room...
That is what I did today.....
Actually when I made this card I had a few challenges in mind.
I normally "pick" a challenge that calls to me....
These challenges did just that...
I will list them below...you might want to join in!!

My card honestly was pretty much put together from the "mess"
on my desk....
The base card, already had the Graphic 45 paper and Anna Griffin die on it..
discarded from another project...
So, I built my card on that...
The flowers were left over from another project from a few days ago
I spritzed them with water and "painted" on TH Distress Marker Ripe Persimmon
The flowers were made with TH Tattered Flower Garland...
I used my Susan's Garden Flower tools to shape them
The center of my card, as well as the banner and butterfly are all Graphic 45 papers
and chipboard pieces...see the cute little "round" piece?
It's a requirement for one of the challenges, to use a circle...
the banner I "hand" stitched together with embroidery thread...

The butterfly is 3 deep in layers...I have tried to show you that in the photo below.

Here are the challenges I am entering into:

Joan's Touch challenge #4...use a circle, colors peach and teal, layered butterflies,
product sold at Joan's Gardens  which is Graphic 45 Secret Garden papers
and
Butterfly Challenge..."A Stitch In Time"...use stitching and butterfly
and
Frilly and Funkie....Neglected Dies...which is my very neglected TH Tattered Flower Garland
and
Tuesday Throwdown....Stitching
and
Word Art Wednesday....Anything Goes
and
Craft Hoarders Anonymous.....Retro or Vintage...mine is vintage
and
Little Red Wagon....Truly Dimensional

Simply beautiful, Diane. This card says Spring to me, even though it is still chilly outside. I love how you used "scraps" to make such a beautiful creation. I, too, hoard Graphic 45 papers, and seldom use them. I love to sit and look at them and dream of days gone by. TFS your wonderful card.

I am still swooning from the previous entrant I have just commented on and then I open your picture to find you have also used graphic 45 papers. I love this card. My purse is depleting as we speak as I adore that Anna Griffin die. Not come across that make before. Colours are ace and the flowers perfect and as for the little stitched banner I'm left speechless. Thank you for fluttering by #3. hugs Mrs A. (butterfly challenge).

What a beautiful vintage spring card. You definitely achieved dimension here. It's great when a card can come together with elements left over from other projects. I really love the depth with the butterfly and those sweet flowers. Thanks for joining us with this weeks challenge over at Little Red Wagon.

Diane, I love what you did with the banner--that is something to add to my list of things to try; and you have inspired me to pull out my Anna Griffin die, which is so graceful and feminine. Beautiful card for this week's challenge at Joan's.

Lovely!! Love how you've repurposed the background and used the blue flourish to frame and accentuate the main image. Your flowers, butterly and banner are perfect accents!

Ohhhhh, so pretty! I love your banner. So cute to string together those different shapes. Also, the flowers, papers, colors, the beautiful die cut -- all fabulous! We're having spring here! We had a beautiful day. A two hour walk with the dogs down a lovely grassy road, sitting by the bay. Started raining tonight, but can't wait to get out again. We'll take a picnic next time!

A wonderful use of the beautiful G45 paper, love that flourish behind the image too. A great idea to do this handstitching as you did. Fabulous card. TFS
