Birds and Blooms

This is my post on the
Sparkle N Sprinkle blog today.

Hi, Diane with you today to show you how to make a fun
and glittery  background.
Secret Garden 773P5
First start by picking out a stencil of your choice.
I used a Memory Box confetti stencil.
Add a remove-able tape to the edges of the stencil to hold it in place.
Using a Palette Knifeapply Dreamweavers White Embossing Paste.
Secret Garden 773P5
Carefully remove your tape, starting at the sides, then the bottom piece.
Lift the stencil up from the bottom (like a hinge)
and carefully pull up, taking the last piece of tape off with the stencil.

Now the fun part!
While the embossing paste is still wet, sprinkle on
Misty Blue Glitter....isn't it pretty?
Set aside to let dry.  It does dry very quickly, however
I let mine dry a few hours, after all you wouldn't want to mess up
your just finished beautiful background.

I next laid out my Want 2 Scrap Birdhouse chipboard and Daisy Chipboard pieces
to see where I wanted to add them to the card front.

I added Versamark to each flower, then coated it with White embossing powder.
I did the same with the birdhouse, only this  time using Coffee embossing powder.
Secret Garden 773P5
I added Brushable glue to the stem and leaves, the coated with Spirited Green
glitter.  I did the same with the flower petals using Lemonade glitter.
I set the flowers on my craft mat and filled each center with
Nuvo Golden Sunset glitter drops were added along the edge of the birdhouse.

I stamped and fussy cut the bird from the stamp set
Secret Garden that had been colored with Copics.
Thank you for visiting with me today and I hope you will give this
background technique a try!

I love the way your glitter is dancing around your background, Diane! Such a cute project and darling way of creating dimension with the chipboard! Thank you for the step-by-step tutorial. I never thought of sprinkling a little glitter on the paste and leaving the rest "naked". LOL Your little bird adds the perfect touch of tweetness and color! hugs, de

This is a wonderful card and a fabulous little scene. I love the different ways you've used glitter and liquid pearls. The chipboard pieces look enamelled with the embossing powder coating.
Thank you for joining in with the April challenge "Anything Goes with Chipboard, Stencils, or Flowers Options " at Creative Artiste Mixed Media and good luck x
