You Are The Happy

Today I challenged myself to actually do a card
for a challenge, not just find a challenge that
fits  a card I had already done...confused?  Lol.
(not saying though I won't add it to other challenges)

So I had first intended to do the challenge over at PoppyStamps
but when I went over to see what it was, it is already closed...whoops!

So then I went to Memory Box and yippee it was still going!
The theme is Falling For You/Fall card.
I made a 'Fall Colored' card since I am so late in joining in
and since Fall is pretty much over.
I like this card as even though the colors are of Fall,
I can still use it year round!

I started by using Memory Box Stitched Circle Layers
(using the largest circle)
then adding Memory Box Wild Blooms to the center
as this die cuts a negative.
I am really liking these negative dies as they add a
uniqueness to a card.

Then I sponged on a white card stock Tim Holtz Distress inks
using Peeled Paint~Spiced Marmalade~Barn Door
and placed it under the negative die cut.

I didn't want a bow so I added a snippet of tied ribbon.
The sentiment (which I love) is from a newly purchased SU stamp set
'Country Home'.

Hope you like it!!

Little Elf

Time for a new challenge theme at
The Sisterhood of Crafters
and is being hosted by our lovely 'Sistah' Debbie!

She has chosen the theme of
'Use a Stitched Die'.

I loved this theme as I had recently purchased a bunch of
very different stitched dies.

The one I am using for this challenge is
a Creative Expressions die by Lisa Horton
called Cheeky Elf.
There are 23 dies in this set and I have done lots
of dies similar to this, but this one is a bit 'picky'!
It has LOTS of tiny pieces,
and luckily I used LOTS of paper scraps for this one!

Not much to explain about this card,
pretty easy to see what was done.
I did add some 'Ice' Stickles along the 'hill'
and a sentiment that I think is from Kaisercraft.

So head on over to The Sisterhood
and see the beautiful variety of creations
my 'sistah's have created....join in with us!!

Snowy Day

Our new challenge is up and running at
I chose the challenge and it is one of my favorites
'coloring on vellum'!

There are tons of instructions on youtube
and lots of ideas on Pinterest.

But, basically. you just stamp your image with
Versamark on Vellum,
use a embossing powder
and heat set.
I used Sparkle N Sprinkles White Detail.

Once you have it heat set,
just flip it over and begin coloring with a pen/marker.
I used Copics for mine.

A little 'tip' is when you turn it over to
see your progress,
make sure to flip it back so you are coloring on the back side,
it's an easy mistake
that can ruin your project if you color on the wrong side.

I used a stamp set from Crafter's Companion that I have had for
years and never been used.
I also added some Stickles 'Ice" for sparkle
and a few snowflakes.

Head on over to the BBB blog and see all the beautiful
designs my teamies have created....
we would love for you to join in with us!!

Seasons Greetings

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today.

I am showing the delicate and beautiful
Tutti Designs Seasons Greetings die today.

The first card is a 5" square and uses a fun designer paper and a scalloped circle
cut from red card stock
which sets the
 Seasons Greetings die off beautifully.
A twine bow and a button were added at the bottom

The second card is a 4 1/2" square...cute!!
The background is embossed with a snowflake EB folder.
I used a Tutti Designs Stitched Circle to place the
Seasons Greetings die,
which by the way it fits perfectly on.
For a pop of color and a bit of fun,
I tied a twine bow and a jingle bell on.

The last card, also 5" square, I used some fun designer papers
and once again the Tutti Designs Stitched circle to place
the metallic die cut Seasons Greetings on.
A few dew drops were added here and there for more holiday sparkle!

This is really a very pretty die, I hope I have inspired you to create
some Christmas cards of your own!.

'R' Is For Reindeer

Today at the Alphabet Challenge
it is the letter 'R' for Reindeer.

I made a card using the Tutti Designs Grazing Deer.

This is a really pretty die, kind of intricate.
I die cut it from a glitter paper and added the bright red Christmas bow.

I made two other cards using this die
and will have them on my blog later in the month
that were designed for Tutti Designs.

I hope you will take a minute and check out the
Alphabet Challenge to see what my teammates have created....
Happy Black Friday!!

Twofer Challenge~Wreaths

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

I FINALLY sat down in my creative room
and made myself work!

I really wanted to do the 'Twofer Challenge'
this time around which is 'wreaths'.

The stamps I used for this challenge are from 2015
and I purchased them at a stamp store that recently opened up
in downtown Shipshewanna Indiana, an Amish community.
The stamps are from Rubber Stamp Tapestry
Cardinal In Holly.

I haven't had this kind of stamp before and found it very intriguing!
There was an entire rack of them to choose from,
so I need to make the trip again and get a few more
before the roads get too icy (about an hour from where I live in Michigan).

For the first card, I used a stylus to trace around a circle
so I had some kind of an idea of where to stamp
(I need lots  more practice at this)

I stamped with Dew Drop inks,
first with New Spout, then Bamboo Leaves,
then came back in with Love Letter.
I think next time I would make the wreath a bit fuller.

The second card I just stamped in two corners,
added a die cut SW tree, a few sequins.

The sentiments on both cards are from
Kaisercraft Xmas Quotes.

It's a start for me to get back into creating,
so hard to do after the loss of my Mom as we were extremely close
and I feel a little (a LOT) lost at times (most times).

Thanks for visiting with me today
and have a happy and blessed thanksgiving here in the states!!

Warm & Cozy

It's the third Wednesday of the month at
Double D Challenges and that means the start of a
new challenge theme.

This time it is being hosted by Team Darlene
and the theme is
'Snuggle Up Buttercup'
and using the mood board below,
we want you to think 'warm and cozy.

Well I have to tell you,
I have had a stamp set and sentiment sitting in my basket for months
to use for this challenge....
and this card 'isn't' it.

I just can't get any motivation for creating right now
and I so wish it would come back.

So I put this quick card together to maybe at least
try to get the urge to create.

I pulled the bear (tag) and the sentiment right out of my
'ephemera'  drawer from Carta Bella's Cabin Fever set.
I used a sweater embossed background
(EBF is RG Richard Garay)
and had every intention of adding a contrasting card stock behind the
bear, but the phone rang and when I got back to my craft room
it completely slipped my mind (these things happen when you get old)!!

I used a ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon from when I belonged to their
ribbon club, they have the most beautiful ribbons.

So, pop on over to Double D Challenges and as always
see all the amazing work by the design team...
pretty cool prize to be had, too...see ya there!!

Bell Corner

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today.

Still lots of time to make those Christmas cards
and to make it even easier I have three
cards to inspire you to 'get going'!

For these three cards today,
I am featuring the Tutti Designs Bell Corner die.

The first card I 'framed in designer paper,
which was cut using the Tutti Designs Nesting Stitched Rectangle
then added my die cut bell corner.
I added Silver Nuvo Crystal Drops to each bells ringer.

The next card the bell corner was cut from a glitter paper and simply placed on
a designer paper.  A ribbon/bow was added to finish.

The last card I die cut the corner from white,
then again just the bells from red velvet Christmas ribbon...
an easy mailer for sure!

I hope I have given you a few ideas using this die to create some quick and easy
holiday cards!

Thanks

November 15th, half way through the month
which brings us to a new challenge at
Dies R Us.

Our theme is 'Giving Thanks'
(thankful, thanks, etc)

I got away from the fall cards
and did a pretty and simple card using the dies below

Sue Wilson Petite Butterflies

I first colored in the Jeanine's Art Rose Corner
then adhered it to a Tutti Designs Dotted Nesting Squares.
I added the word 'thanks' and a few butterflies from

Talkin' Turkey

Ya'all getting ready for some turkey dinners?
Starting to sound yummy isn't it?

Speaking of yummy, we have a yummy mood board below to start
this weeks challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters.
all kinds of fabulous choices!

I went right to the main course and made a turkey dinner!

Now, I am sure this funny die would not appeal to everyone, but a long while back (last year maybe)
when Cottage Cutz had a 60% off sale on their dies
I just couldn't resist!
It has many many little pieces but, I just take the photo and start
pulling out all the little scraps I need for each piece, then cut it all at once
and it makes it super easy!

I added a little color with Copics along the turkey and kind of wish
I had done that for some of the other pieces.
I think this would be fun for invites for Thanksgiving dinner
(as long as you didn't have to make too many).

The sentient is from another 'turkey'  I was originally going to use
from Inky Antics.
I think it went perfectly with my platter!!

Make sure and visit The Sisterhood blog as there
are some really beautiful cards there!

Easy Z Fold CArd

Today at
our challenge is to make an easy 'Z' fold card.

I made mine really easy,
not only the folds but the already printed papers I used as well.

You can lots and lots of EASY Z fold card instructions on
both Pinterest and You Tube....
or even much more involved ones.

The basic sizes and scores for mine were
Base 4 1/4" x 11"
Scores 2 3/4" and 5 1/2" in that order.
Then just decorate as you want.

The papers I used are new ones from Michaels
Recollections  Christmas collection  'Northern Lights'.

I die cut several snowflakes, then coated them with SNS brushable glue and glitter.

Using the supplies I did it made it a very easy and fast card
and fold flat for mailing.
There were a few things I would do differently
(like adding card stock under the papers and such....
but all in all it turned out pretty good.

Holiday Candles

This is my post on the Tutti Designs blog today.

Today I have three cards using the
Tutti Designs Holiday Candles.

This is one of those dies that really makes a statement...so beautiful!!

The first card I did the framing background all layered in white,
then die cut the candles from a red metallic paper....so gorgeous!!

The second card I used a pretty Poinsettia designer paper,
die cut a Tutti Designs Stitched Oval,
then cut the candles from a shiny white/dotted card stock,
three red pearls were added to the flower centers.

The last card I added three various designer papers
and simply die cut the candles from a white card stock,
once again adding 'gems' to the  flower centers.

I hope I have inspired you to create some pretty Holiday Candle cards of your own!
