Spring Dogwoods

Nothing fancy today....
but thought I would do the Cheery Lynn Challenge this week
to use a flower die cut...
I used my Cheery Lynn build a flower 3 and embellishments to
make my flowers
the centers have green stickles which aren't showing up too well
I am a bit late in entering and my flowers aren't even dry yet....
but time is running out for the challenge and I have to go out for awhile.....

the paper I used is the same paper I used for my Begonia Easter egg
I made a few days ago...
the paper is from Ellen Hutson and is a Melissa Frances crepe paper....

Sister Act Card Challenge Blog DT Call

There is a new challenge blog coming "to you" soon....
it is called "Sister Act Card Challenge....
they are in the process of putting together a new Design Team....
if "you" are interested you can follow the link above for all the rules to apply....
sound like fun??  Give it a try....
I had an email asking me to consider applying.....'so here I am with a few of  "my"
favorite projects (which I know you have all seen)...
I am trying to show a variety as I really don't have a style...
I am all over the place, I live my life like that
by the seat of my pants...but it works for "me"

My first card is a favorite...love the colors...love the layout, love the simplicity
and it won me a challenge, too....

Second is one of my favorites that I just did when I was a guest designer
at the Cheery Lynn Designs blog the last five weeks...
Did I mention I LOVE this card.....pretty fancy..eh??

Third is another "winner" at the Moxie Fab World...
I just love the pretty soft colors of this one

And then just "because"...I wanted to share my Owl  banner (part of)
and invites I made for my nieces baby shower last summer...

Well that's it...wish me luck.....!!

Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers Challenge

I have a flower to show you I made for the challenge at the Tim Holtz blog
to make a flower using his Tattered Flowers die
I wish my pictures showed all the pretty colors better...
but if you click on the photo, youcan see more of the details.....

I used Wendy Vecchi art parts Modeling Film to cut my flowers

if you are not familar with this, its a heavy plastic that you can ink~stamp on,
cut, and then use your heat gun to bend it.....
you have to work real fast, as it hardens quickly, but you can reheat it
as much as you want to reshape it to how you want it to look.....

you need to use the TH Adirondack inks that come in the little bottles
and the inkssentials felt dabber to apply, drying each before stamping...
I stamped with Range Archival black ink with a background stamp.....
there is a great 4 part video of the process on YouTube under Wendy Vecchi

the paper comes in clear, which is what I used, 3 sheets for about $3.99
and blackout and whiteout....

here is picture of how they look before I finished heating them up

and here is a picture of the Modeling Film

A Bit of Spring

Mr. Sun is out and shinning...its cold out, but just having the sun is a start...
I have a pretty spring card to share today I did for the challenge over at "Flourishes"
"all that glitters"...

I stamped one of their stamps called "Garden Dreams"...
it was water colored with my Tin Holtz Distress Markers...
TH has an updated video on how to use and store these markers on his blog
so if you own these, you might want to pop on over and watch it
I found it to be very helpful....
If you want to enter the challenge yourself, then pop on over to the Flourish blog
and get all the details...you have until Monday night to enter....
for some reason this photo looks distorted...it is a 4/12 x 4 1/2 card  IRL

I am working on a Cheery Lynn flower today, that will hopefully be on my blog
later this afternoon or tomorrow for sure...see ya!!!

Happy Birthday

I had a little extra time today (not really, but I'm stickin' to it)
so decided to squeeze in one more challenge
this one is all about birthdays
to make a birthday cake with the colors red~yellow~blue
the challenge is at Our Creative Corner
and for fun am entering it the Happy Birthday challenge #134 at Papercraft Star

I don't do many cards with sentiments on them, so thought
I could really use some ready to grab birthday cards.....so
here it is in all it's simplicity...
punched glitter flowers~stickles "frosting"..
a cake cut on my Cricut....pretty bow
and a handcut birthday banner to finish it off!!!

Have a nice Friday and I will "see" you tomorrow, I am sure!!

Tiny Tattered Flowers

Happy March to you!!!!
I am excited about bringing March "in"...as us Michiganders where I am at
know we won't have long to wait before we can start to see signs of Spring...
in fact, I can see the Daffodils popping up out of the ground in the snow...
and it's 29 degrees outside today...brrr...

I have been making so many fancy and a bit more time consuming flowers, that
I decided to switch it up (or down as the case may be) and make easier flowers....
I used Tim Holtz tattered flower garland to make these little beauties.....
they were painted with 2 colors of  Claudine Hellmuth Studio paints

which actually gave them a "streaked effect"'much like a real flower.....

the card base itself is a sizzix EB folder I water colored on with my TH Distress Markers.....
I cut a background center from the Cheery Lynn Designs "mesh border"
both the scallop circle and the mini doily (also a Cheery Lynn die)
came right out of the old stash pile..yeah!!

I made this card for the challenge at Joan's Garden's
this week it is to get a bit "creative"
the rules are to use a lattice
use an inked embossing folder
use a circle or oval
and to make a painted flower.....
so, I think I have it all covered!!
Also entering in the challenge at "Little Scrap Pieces"
to "think Spring"
