Now on to my project.

Christmas in July is what I am all about with this new
release for July from Sparkle N Sprinkle!

I love it when companies come out  with holiday stamps early,
early enough that you have plenty of time to work on  them
before all the holiday hustle and bustle!

That being said, one of the new stamps released is

I loved this set as soon as I saw it...
well heck, who can resist a giraffe stamp anyhow??

I decided to make a 'faux' leather background for Milton.
You will need a roll of masking tape for this.
First start by tearing off small pieces of tape and
sticking down to your card stock.
(smaller pieces work best)

Completely cover your card stock without any of it showing.

Next sponge on your inks.
I used all Distress Inks, Wild Honey, Tea Dye, and Old Paper.

Once you are satisfied with the color,
completely coat with Clear Detail Embossing Powder.
(It will stick to the ink)
then heat set.

Now you have a finished background piece!
(sorry I didn't get a picture of just the finished background..sigh)!

I colored Milton with Copics and added Lemonade glitter to his scarf
then fussy cut him out.

I added Sparkling Snow glitter to

I stamped the sentiment in Versamark,
then embossed with Coffee embossing powder.
It was then die cut with a
Memory Box Stitched Circle.

was applied to  card stock, then using a
Wild Rose Snowflake die,
I die cut it out.
The adhesive was then exposed, and I added the sentiment to the center.
Then I added Sparkling Snow glitter to it.
To finish I used little dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops 'Morning Dew'.

Thank you for visiting with me today
and make sure to visit 'Chris' next
and leave a comment for  each designer along the way for
your chance to win the entire release!

Nice background coloring for the giraffe who is just too cute with his colorful scarf. Like the snowflake die that was glittered to match the filling snowflake.

I love me a cute giraffe! I also have a giraffe Christmas stamp and it's so adorable. Must use it again this year. Now is the perfect time to release Christmas stamps so a person can at least start thinking about them if not actually making the cards. Love that! Your faux leather background is fantastic!

I love giraffes! How adorable! I haven't done the faux leather technique since grade school when I made my mom a 'vase' out of a ketchup bottle (when they were still glass - LONG time ago!).
