Vintage Floral

Make your own background is the theme
this time around at
and Darlene is our hostess.

Making your own background can be done in
many, many different ways....
stamping, texture, stencils, and so many more.
I feel I 'cheated' a little bit...lol!

This winter I sat down with several paper scraps
(or 'snippets' as I like to call them)
and put together about 15 or so 'backgrounds'
using strips of left over designer papers.
I think I might take it a step further next time
and 'stitch' down each panel.
It's such a good way to use up those scraps  and pretty, too!

The framed postcard is one I won in a set from
the 'Butterfly Challenge' quite some time ago.
They had been sitting on my work table forever
and it seemed it was a perfect time to use one
with the paper strips background.
I used a wink of stella pen here and there on the image.

The frame is an IO 6 in 1 frame set
and was leftover from a previous cut.
It looks kind of like 'lacquer'
as it was cut from a piece of recycled packaging.

So pop on over to The Sisterhood blog
and let my 'sistahs' inspire you with their fabuous backgrounds!

I like full colors feeling from your card. Vintage flowers are so gentle and different. I'd like to have such floral tatoo.

So much beauty on this card, Diane! LOVE your combo of scraps in the background, and it's amazing how all those different pieces together are such a perfect compliment to the image. Wow! The black provides perfect separation and contrast. And love the super cute ribbon. Yellow and white is my favorite!
