Best Fishes

This is my post on the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog today.

Diane on the blog today with the cutest digital image
'Gus - Fish Whisper' (Bug-A-Boo).
(Gus is also available in a rubber stamp as well HERE.)

I decided to create a step card with a stenciled background using the
Nuvo Embellishment Mousse.

I used painters tape to tape the Stampendous stencil  Bare Trees on my card stock on all four sides.
Working with a marshmallow applicator
(these are little applicators to apply inks and such with...you can just see it
at the top of the photo below)
I them applied Nuvo Embellishment Mousse colors
You need to work rather quickly as the mousse dries quickly.

Starting with the bottom piece, carefully lift the tape off,
then the two sides, and the top lastly, like a hinge.
Below is the finished result..so pretty!

I printed the image the size I wanted in black and white,
then colored with my Copics.
A Spellbinders Scalloped Rectangle was used to die cut the image.

Using Nuvo Glitter Markers (these are 3 pack pens) from the sets
I colored in the fish, glasses, water drips, boots, cattails,
and a few places on the patches of the pants.

Using 1 1/2" Double Sided Tear-ific Tape on the bottom piece
and 1/2"  Double Sided Tear-ific Tape on the side pieces of the image,
I sprinkled Chameleon Glitter on.

I printed the digital sentiment, then die cut with a smaller scalloped rectangle.
I once again used the Ember Glow glitter pens to edge the sentiment.

Here is a side view of the card, showing more detail of the background stencil.

Once again the finished card.
Thank you for visiting with me today.

Oh my goodness! When did they make a card with my husband's image? This is absolutely perfect. The colouring is wonderful. Your technique with the stencil is simply "wow". The special fold finishes it off wonderfully well. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

Diane, you certainly outdid yourself with old Gus the fish whisperer! FABULOUS color choices, and the tutorial for the mousse is REALLY GREAT! I hadn't thought of using a stencil in that way, and really like how the background turned out. Lots of glittery happiness surrounding our little fisher-guy, and a wonderful guy style card! hugs, de
