Adventures

Happy Thursday!!
I was in town yesterday and our local floral shop had a sign out
that said only 41 days until Spring
(make that 40 today)
but I wish someone would tell Michigan that
as we can have a hard frost right up to Memorial Day in May.
Our weather starting tonight is to get 10 to 14" of wet, heavy snow
and another 5 to 6 on Saturday.
You know where I will be, right here!!

I have a few FREE days and thought fun it would be to
pick a fun challenge to create with and enter.
For today I chose Freshly Made Sketches

I LOVE this simple sketch.

It gave me an opportunity to use up a bit of my mountain of scrap papers,
plus a cute little piece of ephemera from my drawer of 'everything' but the kitchen sink lol!!

The little sentiment/flower piece is from Pebbles.
I had to contain myself not to add a few sequins
to keep it ready to mail!
I think this card would be great for someone
just getting engaged,
as marriage sure is an 'adventure' isn't it?

Sequins~Sequins~Sequins

First Wednesday of the month means first
Double D Challenge of the month of February!!

We have an easy and fun theme once again to work with
and it is
SEQUINS!

Look at the fun inspiration board below just to get you inspired!

My first thought was to do a flamingo card,
then I just couldn't resist that adorable mitten
and since we are smack IN winter, I decided it would be perfect!

What's even more perfect is I used a cut file from The Cutting Cafe called
Mitten Shaped Card.
I cut it on my Cricut making it so simple.
Once cut, I stitched around the mitten part
then added Sparkle N Sprinkle Brushable Glue to the cuff
and sprinkled with Sparkle N Soft Twinkling Clouds flocking.
I added a shiny silver ribbon/bow to that.

In my ever growing stash I found a little canvas heart on a tiny clothespin,
covered the heart with Nuvo Glue Pen Large,
then Sparkle N Sprinkle Reflection glitter.
This is probably my most favorite silver glitter of all...
it is so fine!!

And of course the 'finale' are the SEQUINS...many silver ones!

Now you HAVE to pop on over to the
Double D challenge blog and see all the gorgeous creations the
Design Teams have...you will be as usual WOWED!!!!

Hugs & Kisses

Fun time at The Cutting Cafe this week,
we are all to use a Valentine 'word' cut file
and I chose this XOXO word shaped card.
I just love how it turned out,
love the colors, love the papers, too!

I cut the base of the card with a red card stock.A white card stock
was stacked on that.

Next came the fun part, cutting each letter,
I used a just purchased paper from Authentique 'Lovestruck'.

Once the letters were adhered I added a pretty ribbon bow
and a heart, sentiment and arrow, ALL part of the XOXO set!!
Make sure later in the day on the 7th you stop by
The Cutting Cafe blog to see ALL the Valentine Word cards in one place
by the design team...it's a post you won't want to miss!!
Leave a comment there and you could win 3 cut files of your choice!

Best Bud

Hi all, did you have a fabulous weekend?
Mine was super busy but now the hubby went back to work
so I am hoping to get caught up again.
I just can't seem to shake this sore throat/cough
I have had for 4 weeks now, even after 10 days of antibiotics!
so I am kind of ignoring it for now and moving on!

Today I have a Valentine card (yes, it is getting that time again)
using a favorite embossing folder,
one that I have put somewhere and have yet to find it again!

The embossing folder is an Elizabeth Designs one.
The die is from Tutti Designs Elegant Love Bird.

The sentiment is from an older Flourish's set.

Have a great day all!!

Hello Foxy

This is my post on Sparkle N Sprinkle today.

Products:
Misc:  Square Die Cuts
Tiny Heart Punch
Cord
Bark Embossing Folder
Sprinkles for shaker

Hello, Diane with you today with a cute little shaker card
perfect for Valentines or anytime using the newly released stamp set

I wanted to show you how handy the Tim Holtz Stamp Platform can be.
As you can see, I stamped the image but didn't capture the entire thing.
So I easily inked back up and stamped a couple more times until
it was perfectly and completely stamped....this is the best 'tool' ever!!

For this card I used just the sitting fox.
I applied Sakura Quicky glue pen to the fox after I had colored him with Copics
I added a bit of glue at a time, then used
Sparkle N Soft Autumn Sparkle flocking, pressing down slightly.
I wanted a really good coverage, which is why I did a little at a time.
Isn't he pretty and all soft and glittery!
Once he was completely dry I fussy cut him out with Tonic 5" Mini Scissors.

I used a bark embossing folder and a square die to cut out the shaker shape.
I rubbed on Nuvo Mousse Embellishment Fresh Copper directly on the embossed folder.
I cute a slightly bigger piece (then the cutout square) of Clear Embossable Acetate
for the 'window' of the shaker.  Foam was then added to the back of the acetate and I added a few little heart sprinkles, then added a back paper to cover.

I heat embossed the sentiment on a stitched square die cut using
Versamark and Coffee embossing powder.
For the back paper of the card I used a new and beautiful
I actually 'flipped this paper upside down as it then resembled little hearts.
The same paper was used to punch a tiny heart to add to the sentiment.

I added a tiny pink cord to 'tie it' all together!

Thank you for visiting with me today!

XOXO

I have a quick card to post today
I made with 2 dies and a heart punch!

I used one of the nesting cross stitch rectangle dies from Tutti Designs
and a cute as can be Fancy Hearted Cat die
also from Tutti Designs.

I simply stamped a little heart stamp I had and then used a little heart punch.
Couldn't get any easier then this.
I have two more cards using this die I will show later in the month!

Hope you all are having a great Saturday,
I am trying to finish up some Feb DT things today!
