Hello Sweet Friend

Hi All!!
Time for the new challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters
and Lisa is our hostess and she has chosen the challenge
to use NO designer papers.
Now that sounds easy, but I think I almost always, always
reach for my papers, how about you?

However, my very first thought was to use an embossing folder.
I have purchased about 6 of the Spellbinders 3D folders
and never think to get them out and use them.
Crazy on my part as they are so beautiful!!

The 3D embossing folders emboss very, very deeply.

I basically taped the card stock inside the embossed side of the folder,
spritzed lightly with water, then ran my Distress Ink pads over
the 'debossed' side to add the colors you see.

There is a wonderful video of this here
if you would to see how it is done.

I used Spellbinders Labels 34 for the center,
leaving the original panel in the folder and taping
the die cut over the center,
once again using my inks on just the middle section
of the debossed folder, then ran it through my Big Shot.

I just love how it turned out, so beautiful, yet so easy.
This was a great challenge as it made me get those folders out and put in use!

I hope I have inspired YOU to think outside the box and join in
our challenge at "The Sisterhood"....
head on over and see all the beautiful creations the 'sistahs' have created!

I don't think so! I love the soft distressing around the edges. I never think of inking my folders, and what a difference it makes. BEAUTIFUL, Miss Diane! Love it! Hope you are enjoying a wonderful week! hugs, de

No way that was done with an embossing folder! You're making that up! Seriously, I thought the background was an incredibly intricate die cut and I kept reading and reading trying to figure out where the embossing was and when you were going to mention the die cut background. This is SO GORGEOUS! If there's a better way of inking embossing folders than what I've been trying without success, then I want to see it so I'm going to watch the video. Mine don't come out worth a darn, but I've never tried anything with taping and spritzing. I have some Spellbinders embossing folders, but not the 3D. Bet they'd look amazing with my Neenah 110 lb. Guess you know what I'm looking for on my next trip to the local paper crafts store. Wow! Love the distressed edges, too. Okay, I'm done now. Have a good day!
