Hi, Diane here with you today.
Seems like summer is just "fluttering" away, doesn't it?
Speaking of summer, I have been spending a bit of time in my gardens
and have noticed numerous gorgeous butterflies....
I based my card on those that I have been seeing...
I started my card with a background I made from stamping a
B Line Designs stamp. I used one that is now out of stock, but
the B Line Designs My Garden of Flowers would work just as well!
I stamped the words 5 to 6 times, basically just to make a "word" background.
Next I stamped B Line Designs Large Butterfly on card stock with Versamark
which I had first rubbed with an Anti Static bag to keep fingerprints off....
then heat set with Sparkle 'n Sprinkle Black Detail Embossing Powder
Using Tim Holtz Distressed Inks, I sponged color on my butterfly with
I wanted to break up the background a bit, so I added
Memory Box Chesapeake Circle die under it, cut from
To finish I added an orange gingham bow.
Don't forget we have a weekly challenge we would love to have you join in.....
just click on the "challenge" button on the side to be taken there....thanks for visiting me!!

Wow! Your butterfly turned out incredibly beautiful, and love the way you framed it with the simple die cut. The bow is awesome, too. Also the background you made simply by stamping words is very effective. Gorgeous butterfly photo from your garden! That's an amazing shot!
I don't know which is more beautiful - your card or the picture of the butterfly in your garden!! Your card is amazing!! I love the colors and the stamped background!! The gingham ribbon is a perfect touch!! I saw a butterfly outside today that was a gorgeous deep blue that tapered to a lighter blue and then almost turquoise. Of course I didn't have my camera :( Happy Friday my friend :)

Diane, I love your card, it is so pretty. I like the bright butterfly and the gingham ribbon.
What a beautiful butterfly ... I love the colours ... Lovely card! Have a good weekend Diane ... It's cold and wet here ...
Hi Diane,
We have had a absolute abundance of butterflies in our garden this year. I scattered loads of wild flower seeds in the borders which were for butterflies and bees and it has been a delight to watch them all come in to feed and pollinate. I still have masses of Evening Primrose in flower and still the odd wasp/bee collecting the last dregs of pollen up.
Your Butterfly is goegeous. Another one to add to my collection. Not heard of that stamp before and love how you have embellished it. Thankyou for fluttering by #12. Hugs Mrs A. (butterfly challenge).
Oh my goodness! That butterfly photo is priceless and your card is a wonderful rendition of your beautiful gardens! Love that handmade butterfly and the card design showcases it beautifully! You are on a wonderful creative roll my friend ... drawing much needed inspiration! AWESOME!
