Anything Goes At The Sisterhood

A fun challenge (an an EASY one, too) is up and running at
and the theme is 'Anything Goes' being hosted  by our lovely 'sistah' Vickie!

I have to admit that this is not at all what I intended to create
but I have been bogged down with working on a new release for Tutti Designs
and time just got away from me
and here it was time for our new challenge and I had nothing even started..gulp!

So, in a pinch I went to my 'scrap' panels I created last winter
to create my card for today!
These panels are perfect to just grab and use, which is exactly what I did!

Everything on this card is OLD!
I used an older Flourish stamp set (Country Road) for the sentiment
and a Hampton Art stamp for the butterfly (Spring Butterfly)
I think this stamp is from the 90's!

Even the inks are older from SU~Groovy Guava and Pacific Point!

I used a Lawn Fawn die to cut the panel and the new
TH Tonic Stamp Platform for the perfect placement of the sentiment.
Because of using that,
I was able to stamp the sentiment 3 times to make a bolder image.
I have to say this is my favorite new tool and have used it daily since it arrived at my door!
(thanks Sparkle N Sprinkle)!!

To finish I added sequins.
I often wonder if cards with sequins make it through the mail or if they fall off
before they get there?
I used Tombow glue to hold mine on.

Head on over to The Sisterhood and see all the fabulous variety
of creations my 'sistahs' have created and join in with us!!

I LOVE the curvy scrap panel ... looks awesome! I think your last minute design is fabulous! GREAT job! (I too wonder if the sequins make it in tact in the mail ... hmmmm???)

What a great idea to use your scraps that way and you put them together so well! I could never think of combining them that way. You're so creative!

Ha! Pacific Point would be a new ink for me. All my SU inks are pretty old. I think the last one I bought was Blackberry Bliss. Ran out of room! Anyway... I do think this is a pretty card with your "old" stuff. Cool that you made up a bunch of scrap backgrounds. These papers all look so pretty together. I love the butterfly, too. I've wondered about sequins. I always use Aleene's Tacky Glue. I should mail a card to myself and see. Once I received a card with a bunch of sequins on glossy paper... most of them fell off in the envelope. Either the glue or the glossy paper was the culprit, not sure.

The sign of a talented stamp artist is when they can make a beautiful card even when using odds and ends. You have proven that with this card! It's a wonderful CAS card! Love it!

Brilliant card Diane - great use of snippets! And the colours are lovely.

About sequins, I quite often receive cards from friends with sequins on and often one or more has parted company with the card. Ha, I sit here and glue then back on!!

Many years ago I had a guided tour of a post office mail sorting office and they use a lot of machinery. One huge monster was called the 'Camel' as it seemed to have a huge hump in the middle of a yards long piece of machinery. The automated process picked up the envelope and shot it along the contraption between rollers - reading the post code along the way. Those rollers are most probably the culprits - certainly here in the UK.

My solution is to always keep the backs of padded envelopes (or even just use bubble wrap on its own) and pop a square inside the envelope to protect the card front. with the bubble wrap part against the card to cushion it. It does take the card up a notch in postage though - sigh :(

Thank you for coming to play in the Snippets Playground!

Hugs
