CASE-ing A Card

Fun challenge at Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog
called CASE-ing DT
meaning we are to case the card below
All the rules can be found on the link above.

Summer2015CLH-640x430

So, this is my first time entering into the Coffee Lovers challenge,
actually this is their first challenge besides the seasonal ones they do.
I have always been a 'stalker' during those challenges.
It is fun to see all the coffee/tea stamps being used
and believe me there are lots of them.

So, when seeing they are starting up a CASE-ing DT challenge
it hit me at a time where my mojo is just not working,
so what better way to get it back then with a little help
by 'casing' a card.

This is my take on it and I think I will do a few more
as I made my panel a bit bigger then it should be,
but it turned out kind of cute, you think?

I cut the word coffee on my Cricut Explore
and the coffee cup and the sentiment are from a
stamp set by The Greeting Farm that I won about 3 years ago or so.

It felt good to use up some designer paper, and it felt good to
ink up those never before used stamps
and best of all to use up more 'snippets' of paper.
I have to admit though, that I have to hold myself back
from adding a ribbon/bow across the top..lol!!

Peace On Earth

This is my post on the
Tutti Designs blog today.

Happy Thursday!

Getting ahead on Christmas cards
sure makes the holiday season a little easier to handle.
Tutti Designs can for sure help you with that
with all the new amazing Holiday dies they they have released.

The die I am showing you today however,
could be used anytime of the year, but I did create a holiday card
using the new Pinecone Branch die.

I love how my card came together so easily.

I started out by cutting two of the Pinecone Branch dies.
One, I coated with glue,
then sprinkled a snowy glitter on.
The other branch I left 'as is' for later use.

Here is a close up of the glittered branch.

I used a Christmas paper for the background,
then embossed a square panel and adhered the glittered branch to that.

I cut apart the second branch and adhered it to the corner
with a red bow and a tiny jingle bell.

Neutrals

Time for a new challenge at Double D
being hosted by Team Darlene
and using the tile/mood board below the theme is
'Neutrals'.

I made a very simple card using a negative from a die cut.
Just by placing a 'snippet' of designer paper under
the negative, it simply brought it to life!

It was then mounted on a piece of coordinating card stock with foam tape.

A Happy Birthday sentiment was stamped, punched with a circle punch
and inked around the edges!

It was simply finished with a few 'candi's' and a snippet of ribbon.

Fluttering Leaves

Time for a new challenge at the

The theme is Doilies and/or Lace.

Well, I struggled with this one as I happen to love doily dies
and the struggle was which one to use!

Being it's the second week of August I decided to
create a fall card.

I started with a Memory Box Open Studio Stitched Circles die
for the base of the card and also using the smaller circle for the
stamped sentiment.
You just position you die slightly above the scored line so it will not cut
entirely through leaving you with a nice card base.

The next layer I used a doily die
This die also comes with an 'angel wing'.
If you are not familiar with that , it is a die
that can be cut to place underneath the doily,
usually in a contrasting color.

To finish, I used a few fun die cuts.
And we can't forget the little black bird,

One of the other fun things of this card
is that I was able to cut every piece from my scrap bags,
or snippets as they are called.

Now pop on over to the Dies R Us challenge blog and
take a peek at what the other teammates have created!

Get Your Craft On

Super cute stamp set to share today
that is part of the August release from
The cute set is 'Get Your Craft On'.
I used the digital version for this card.

I printed the image on my printer,
then colored her in with Copics.
I even added a bit of 'henna' highlights to her hair.....
just for fun!

Spirited Green glitter was added to her 'craft' ribbon.
I punched a circle , used brushable glue,
then coated with Orange Crush glitter
to put behind the digital sentiment that is
part of the stamp set.

A real button was added to her string of buttons
and a few more for decoration.

I cut a Spellbinders Romantic Rose die,
coated the entire piece with brushable glue,
the sprinkled on Sugar Plum glitter

Fall Bliss

This is my post on the
Tutti Designs blog today.

Happy Thursday All!
Isn't it hard to believe that we are into our 2nd week of August
already and it will soon be  'Fall' before we know it!

Speaking of Fall
I have a pretty 'fall-ish' card to show you using the new

I die cut my leafy wreath then used Gilding Flakes to coat it.
Let me give a small tutorial of how I did it.

First die cut your leafy wreath die.
Then coat your entire wreath with glue.
I used Cosmic shimmer Flake & Glitter Glue.
Let it sit for about 15 minutes,
this allows the glue to get real sticky.

Next start applying your gilding flakes with your fingers
making sure to cover the entire glued surface.
I used Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Flakes .

Be very generous and cover it well!

Once entirely covered,
use a soft brush and start brushing the excess
flakes off.
You can put the flakes back in the jar for another use later.
Once all the flakes are off, I use my fingers to 'shine' the flakes up a bit.

That's all there is to it.
A 'Tip' is to spray your finished gilded project with a clear spray.
I use a very inexpensive aerosol hair spray for mine.
I simply finished with a bow and an embossed sentiment
that I then punched with a circle punch.

Picture Perfect

Today a new challenge is up at
and is being hosted by our 'sistah' Agata.
She has chosen the theme
'Close To Nature'.

Here is a simple definition of nature below.

Simple Definition of nature. : the physical world and everything in it (such as plants, animals, mountains, oceans, stars, etc.) that is not made by people. : the natural forces that control what happens in the world. : the way that a person or animal behaves : the character or personality of a person or animal.

I originally had planned on using a deer stamp I had
but I also have been trying to use up some of the things
I have previously stamped, created, cut etc.

So, while I was digging around in my bags of goodies
I came across this leaf I had made as a 'trial'
a few years ago when I purchased some
gilding flakes.
A leaf stamp was used, stamped in glue first.
There is a fabulous tutorial on youtube  of how to do it.
If you have never tried this technique, do so,
as it is fun (messy) and makes a beautiful image when done

I think nothing says nature like a leaf....
especially in the fall when they are all over the place...lol!
I cut a gold metallic frame die to frame it in.

The little flower is a leftover die cut  from a previous project
and it feels so good to use it up!

and see what my 'sistahs' have created
to inspire you to make your own nature project!
