Soak Up The Sun

Our new theme at The Sisterhood of Crafters is BEACH
I created this card out of almost totally new, never been used before supplies.
The wavy background die I bought at least two years ago and it is
from Ellen Hutson's collection of Essentials By Ellen 'Strands'.
I loved the wavy watery look .  The Fish are Poppystamps Whittle Fish.
and the sentiment is My Favorite Things Sunshine and Friendship.
The light blue piece in the background is die cut from Spellbinders.

Take a peek over at The Sisterhood and see all the fun 'beachy'
creations from my 'sistahs'!

Happy Birthday Butterflies

Can You Handle The Pressure challenge blog has a new 'optional' theme
today and it is BUTTERFLIES!
The theme is always optional and you can create anything you want
as long as you have used an embossing folder,
after all that  is what we are all about!

I used TWO embossing folders for my card.
The base of the card uses an OLD Sizzix SU folder Elegant Bouquet.
I embossed it on a Sizzix card stock brights paper made for the Bigz dies.

The butterflies were die cut, then embossed and inked.
This is one of my favorite folders from Simon Says Stamp
that comes with both the folder AND the dies.
I think it creates the prettiest butterflies and 3 more are included
besides the two I used!

So, get out those neglected embossing folders and come on over to
Can You handle The Pressure
and have some fun with us, there is always a fun prize for a random winner!!

Color Challenge

A new challenge theme starts today at
Double D and it's all about color!
 COLOR CHALLENGE

(use one of these drink colors for your project)

I not only let the yellow lemonade inspire me
but the lemon itself!
I had saved this one last napkin from last summer to use
for the 'napkin/glitter technique' which can be found on youtube
for instructions.  I used a double sided adhesive first placing
on a heavy white card stock, then peeling off the remaining
paper and adhering the napkin to it.  I trimmed it up a bit
then covered the entire piece with Versamark
then used SU's heat and stick powder
covering the entire napkin piece.  Once heated with my heat gun
I dumped transparent Crystal Glitter Ritz on it.
In the video they use SU Dazzling Diamonds
which I have but I think that one might be semi-transparent
and I really wanted the image to show thru.
Then you just heat set it again to make sure the glitter adheres.
I didn't want to add a sentiment yet and not even sure if I will.

Lots of colorful and pretty inspiration over  on
the Double D challenge blog, so you might want to pop on over
there and take a peek, Join in with us too using one of the four
colors shown on the mood board above!

Peace On Earth Challenge #42

It's June and we are still creating Christmas cards for the 2023 season!
We will be real happy when the seasons does roll around and
we are so far ahead with our Christmas cards!

Our Peace On Earth Christmas challenge is always an
Anything Goes challenge but we also always have an
inspiration board to get you started!!

I can usually right off come up with something when I see
our mood boards, but this board threw me a bit when trying to
figure out what I wanted to create!  Then I remembered while working for
Dies R Us one of the design team girls had created a card using this Penny Black
sign die, I loved it so much and thought it so different from anything I had,
I was enabled to purchase it!
I computer printed the sign sayings (the same ones as seen on the board)
and added them to my pole!  The Christmas tree is one I had already done
in my stash of creative Christmas goodies!!  I found a red brick
designer paper for the background and that is how this card was created!

The inside of the card has a nice Christmas greeting!

Why not get ahead on YOUR Christmas cards and join in with us
at Peace On Earth and  make sure to visit all the beautiful and inspiring
creations the design team has!!

Sketch 728

It's Sketch Saturday challenge time again and we have a really easy sketch for
you this time.

My card colors IRL are actually much less bright and duller in true color.
I used a frame from my already die cut scrap bag and flower and leaves from
Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms.  the sentiment is from The Greetery.

Hope to see you over at Sketch Saturday!!

TOB June Mid Month Reminder

We are half way thru the month of June with our challenge at
Two Old Bats
and as usual have a fun mood board for inspiration.
But it's just that, for inspiration only,
you can create anything as long as it is Halloween themed!

Inspiration Board

For my card, I was inspired by the witch in the upper left corner
and used a cute witch die from Tutti Designs.
I love her spider web skirt so added a few rub on webs
around her.  I die cut  her in all white card stock then colored
her in with Copics.  The doily she is stamped on is from Cottage Cutz.

The background I created using the nail polish technique.
It's a panel I did a few years back
so feels good to put it to use finally
!
Pretty wild isn't it?

Doctors Kit

At A Barrel of Monkeys our challenge theme is a Doctor's Kit
for inspiration!  I remember my kids and grandkids having a ton of fun
playing with the fun Dr kits I had.

I had to really put on the old thinking cap for this one
but turns out it was really pretty easy when I remembered I had
some free digitals from My Favorite Things given to us to print and use
during all the covid scare at that time.  I printed my  cute DR image
then die cut him colored him with Copics and went from there.

Supplies: My Favorite Things digital Dr image and sentiment, Cheery Lynn Designs Banner,  Tutti Designs Stitched Oval, Chickaniddy 6x6 paper (2015), White Candi's

Head on over to A Barrel of Monkeys and join in
with us, we would love to see YOUR interpretation of
our fun theme!

Pretty Purples Floral Color Challenge

A new color challenge starts today at
Beautiful Blossoms and I think it is one you will like,
PURPLES!
Let the mood board inspire you with the pretty monochromatic
colors of purple!

I used an Altenew Garden Days four part layered stencil
which came out of their weekly sales and not available anymore,
which is why I hawk their sales every week!   Some great buys there!
After trimming down the 6x6 stenciled flower
I turned it into a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card, just adding some
designer paper a few flat pearls and a Pink Fresh Studios
stamped and die cut sentiment!

We would love to have YOU join us for our June challenge
and if not at least pay a visit to see all the floral beauty
at Beautiful Blossoms!

Wedding Card

It's time for another challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters
and our theme is WEDDINGS!

I created this card for my grandson's wedding last  May.
Their colors were dark green and gold.  I thought it an odd choice
until I saw the wedding party and it was quite gorgeous!!

I think I would call it a more of a champagne color then gold.
Anyhow, my card was created using a fun Cottage Cutz die  and
papers by Mintay Marry Me.

Being June is the month of weddings, I hope you will join us
at The Sisterhood with your own wedding cards, be sure to stop by
anyhow and see all the beautiful designs from my 'sistahs'!!

Wedding Card

Our 'optional' theme at Can You Handle The Pressure is 'WEDDINGS'.
I don't know about you but I can always use a wedding card to
have on hand.

I kept this card pretty clean and simple for the most part
thinking it would work for just about any wedding
and by keeping it a classic black and white!

Supplies: Sizzix Embossing Folder, Stampin Up Ever After Sentiment,
Die Cut Heart, Pink Fresh Studio Glacier Jewels.

I wish I knew who made the heart die,  but for some reason
I didn't have it in my die book.

Hope to see YOU at our fun
Can You Handle The Pressure challenge
which is all about embossing folders!!

Lemon-Ade

Our new challenge starting today at Double D is all about lemons and/or yellow as your focus.
Pretty easy peasy really!  I chose yellow as it was my Mom's favorite color
and one I also love.  I mean look how pretty, bright and cheerful our mood board is,
it just HAS to make you happy!!

Lemons or Yellow as focus

I spent  couple days looking for my 'lemon' stamp set
only realizing it wasn't a stamp set at all but a die set!!
It's the Spellbinders Lemon Zest die set, one I purchased at a very
discounted price from Hobbylobby!
I pretty much went with their cover scene as I loved the look
of their layout and was able to use all paper scraps on it.
The greens on the card are more of an olive green then my photo
shows, but I could not get the true green color and finally gave up!
I embossed my sentiment in gold to keep in line with the gold
metallic half pearls I added.   The die comes with teeny tiny flower centers
but I chose to add yellow Nuvo to my flower centers!

You don't have to use lemons for your creation but make
yellows your focus color on your card!  Please stop by and visit
Double D and see all the pretty yellow inspiration from the teams!

Just A Note

A new month and a new challenge starting at
Stencil Fun (Crazy Is Our Fame Stencils Are Our Game)
with an 'optional twist' to use layered stencils.
You don't have to use the twist and can make anything you want
as long as you use a stencil!

I of course went with the twist as I have several layered
stencils and have to admit I am quite addicted to them,
but the end results are beautiful!

My twist card came about with a few accidents,
accidents that couldn't have worked out any more perfect.
Once I got the stenciling done I decided to grab the die and
die cut it out, only thing was it wasn't a die, it was a foil plate
meant for foiling, my bad, as I ran it through my big shot and what it did
was emboss it instead, which turns out I loved the look,
Everywhere you see the embossing is where the foil should have been.
I did end up ordering the die for the stencil and have to say it was
the best decision I made!  They also have a stamp to go with
and it is on my list to order next!  But, I will try foiling next time
before I use the layered stencil, I imagine that will be beautiful!
The stencil for this card is Pink Fresh Studio Charming Floral Border.

The next 'accident is I had a pad of gingham paper opened
on my work desk to this navy blue gingham and after I die cut
my stenciled image I set it on the paper by accident, wow, I loved how the
two colors and patterns looked together so it was a 'happy' accident!

For my 'anything goes' card I had an embossed Swiss Dots panel that I added
my stenciled Pink Fresh Studio Daisy Wreath to.

This is also a layered stencil, which I do have the die for!
I used Pink Fresh Studio's Perfect Sentiments stamps and dies for both cards!
You've seen me use this stencil before and surely will again
as I have two more already stenciled!!

Take a peek over at our Stencil Fun challenge and see Dar's pretty
inspiration cards and get to stenciling and join us,
we have a fun prize up for grabs!

Peace On Earth Challenge #41

Can you believe we are almost halfway through the year already?
Time seems to go by so fast!!

June brings us to a new challenge at Peace On Earth
and we have a pretty mood board for inspiration.
You can be inspired by it or not, but your project
just has to be Christmas themed!

I was inspired by the bottom left corner with the pretty star.

I knew I had a die cut star that was a bit fancy around the edges.
I remember seeing this die used and spent forever trying to find it,
and find it I did, it ended up being a Marianne die.
I used a Tim Holtz twiggy background die for the first time and
a star stamp and die set from Altenew Peace Love Joy set.

I know you can't tell, but the white star is cut from a very shimmery
piece of specialty paper.

We would love to have YOU join us at our Peace On Earth challenge!!

Sketch 727

It's time for a new sketch challenge at
Sketch Saturday and it is an easy and fun one!
Also, did you know we now have a Top 3 winners post
and it could be you, all you have to do is play along!

I really like how my card turned out, but those flowers sure gave me a run for my money so to speak!
I had ordered the  Pink Fresh Studio Happy Blooms stencil set
but once stenciled to me it needed more, so I set it aside and ordered the stamp set
that goes with it, I also had a die set to cut it out with or so I thought,
turns out it was the wrong set, it was for the Happy Blooms Frame set
which I don't have , but now guess will have to order so I can use it.
So once again I placed a 3rd order for the correct die set and am now a happy camper.
Of course, if I want to get real fancy and complete the set,
there is also a hot foil plate to go with.
Do you purchase stamp, die and stencil or
just one or the other?  I think I now need to be careful
when ordering stencils but by adding the stamp set
it does give me a whole lot of other options without using
the stencil!

Supplies: Chickandiddy 6x6 paper (2015-trying to use up this pad), Pink Fresh Studio Happy Blooms Stamp~dies~stencil, The Greetery Sentiment Suite Birthday.

I also used an old SU paper punch for the note paper
and popped up my flowers for depth!
We hope to see you at Sketch Saturday!!

June 2023 Triple B Challenge

Hello Friends!
It's that time again for a new challenge at
Triple B
where we are all about Blooms~Birds~Butterflies.
You can use one, two or all three, it's up to you!

We have an inspiration board but it's just that for inspiration!

I used a new to me Altenew layered Build A Flower Rose Stamp and die set
and let me tell you, it was a doozy to layer!
The Rose has six different layers so you need six different ink colors
then lining up each layer was quite tricky but I watched a couple
of youtubes and it saved the day, that and my stamp platform!
Mine aren't perfect by any means
but way better then they were the first time I tried!
The leaves on the other hand were a breeze to layer and stamp.
I believe this set has been discontinued!
The sentiment is from the same set.  I lightly stenciled the background
using an older stencil (2014) Texture Tessatina from Memory Box.

I hope to see you over at Triple B, it's a fun challenge and has been quite a hit!

Peach Color Challenge

A new color theme at Colorful Options this month and it's
PEACH!!

Don't like Peach?  Then you have an option to use a rainbow of colors!

I used a stencil from Altenew and some 'peachy' colors from Simon Says inks.
The bottom of the card was die cut with an edge die from
Precious Marieke 'Rose Border'.
I used a heart die cut piece along the top and white pearls scattered
here and there.  The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread.

TOB June Challenge

It's June and we are ready for a new challenge
and a new mood board at
Two Old Bats.
It is for inspiration only and you can create anything you
want as long as it is Halloween themed!

Inspiration Board

Being the month of June my mind went right to June weddings
and I knew I had this fun Prickly Pear skeleton stamp set
that has never seen ink before.
That's the great thing about this challenge
I get to use my 'stuff'!!
The caskets are a stamp and die set and the rest I stamped
colored and fussy cut out myself.
The bat and the sentiment are chipboard pieces I have around
since my scrapbook days which I don't do anymore and haven't in years!

Four Seasons June Summer

We are into the SUMMER season at Four Seasons
and have a fun mood board for inspiration
and it is just that, INSPIRATION as you can make anything
you like as long as it is within our SUMMER theme!

 Anything Goes Summer

To create my card, I used a few never been used before supplies.
I grabbed a fun new to me stencil I bought LAST summer and finally inked it up!
It is Wavy Stripes from Ink N Splatter, inked with TH Oxide blueprint sketch ink.
I inked the 'sand' with TH Oxide frayed burlap.
The chair and umbrella are a first time use and are from Cheapo Dies,
all die cut from scraps of card stock..
The flying seagull came out of my already die cut box and I believe is
from Impression Obsession, the sentiment is an oldie from SU,
first time I have used it too!
I added a few gold embellishments from Pink Fresh Studio.

Join us for our 'SUMMER SEASON' at Four Seasons and check out all
the fun summery creations from our Design Team!
