"Sketch This" at "The Shabby Tea Room"

Good Monday morning to you...
or maybe it's afternoon or evening depending where you live.....
Can you believe it is already the last day of June....
I sure hope we have a long summer and fall!!

This week at "The Shabby Tea Room" our challenge is "Sketch This"
using the sketch below....

 We have a new (to us) sponsor this week "Bossy Joscie"
I chose the pretty "blueberry flair button" for my card.....

I flipped the sketch around a bit to suit my design...
which is one nice thing about a sketch.....
you can pretty much do what you want with it!!

I used the gorgeous Graphic 45 Botanical Tea papers
and stitched around both panels....
I love how the pretty blue satin bow makes the "Bossy Joscie" button the focal point!!
You will see me using several more of these "flair" buttons in the weeks to come...

I encourage you to visit "The Shabby Tea Room"
and see what all the other shabby girls have
to inspire "YOU" to join in with us....
my goodness, so much pretty talent there, not just with the DT,
but with the entries as well!!!

Hello To Sequins

Hello Sunshine!!!
Isn't this just the neatest die?
I LOVE it!!
I cut it out of a "velour" yellow card stock.....
so fun!!

This week at the Friday Mashup the challenge #166 is
Sequins and Hello/Hi.....
use one or mash them up and use both as I did!!

since I have suddenly acquired a fair amount of sequins
I figured this was a great challenge to play in!!
These pretty little sequins came from Lawn Fawn

My paint spatters are an SU stamp...love that thing, too!!

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.....
we are headed out this afternoon for a grad party for twins!!

I will see you all here tomorrow for my Shabby Tea Room post

A Friend Will Always Be There

Happy Saturday Everyone...
I hope you are having a fun and creative day.....
It is a bit gloomy here today and a whole lot humid...
with a bit of "sprinkles" in the air...
we are to have T-storms later this afternoon.....

I have lost my mojo it seems,  I often wonder where it goes....
I guess we all need a "vacation" at times...lol....

I have a HUGE list of things I need to be doing
but decided to look through my challenge list,
pick one and maybe that would give me a "jump start"....

I chose the "June" monthly challenge at Viva la Verve.....
I used the "week 4" sketch and created my card with bits and pieces
and a few little "Nature Walk" journaling cards from" Pretty Little Studio"

here is the sketch if you would like to join in.....

I also wanted to share a few of my surprise  lilies...
I call them that as last year I purchased a bunch of them color unknown
at a markdown of 50 cents a pot at Lowes.....
I actually had forgotten about them until they started coming up...
most of these are from my "kitchen" garden....
I call it that as I planted herbs and such outside my kitchen deck
and it grew into a full fledged garden...lol....

I also have a "Clematis I am showing....growing in the same garden....
I'll be back tomorrow hopefully with more flowers to share if you "want to take a peek"!!!

always trying to think of unique ways to use them besides what they
were intended for...
it's like a personal challenge all of my own...LOL!!

So, all that being said, I came up with the idea to use a Spellbinders Heart Circle die
and making it into a baby "buggy" by cutting a "wedge" from one side...
I used the smallest die in the same Spellbinders  Heart Circle die for the "wheels"....
I added a bit of braid trim I had on hand and added the cutest little bunnies
bunnies can be for more then Easter!!

Thinking of You

Hello Friends.....
The weeks seem to be flying by as it is already time for another
This week our hostess is Micki and the challenge theme is "MONOCHROMATIC"

I seem to not have a problem doing this type of card without trying...
but give me a challenge where it is required and I seem to draw a blank....lol.
I had some old, and I mean old textured SU card stock, which I ran through my
Zutter DIA and some of it distressed well, but not all, I went with it anyways!!

I stamped Memories Unicorn white ink using another very old SU stamp "Baraque Motifs"
Last year I had purchased a Heartfelt stamp and die flower set I "just had to have"
and just finally used it...lol.....
I layered my flowers and you can't really see it in the photo, but all the flower tips have
Stickles lavender on them!!
The bow is a last of of a scrap I had...hurray!!
The sentiment is from a set I won called "Precious Rememberance Shop" "Friend"

So, come on over to "The Sisterhood" and see what the DT has to inspire you this week!!

Entering in the following challenge:

The Crafters Cafe .... Polka Dots and Ribbon

~~~~~~ Enjoy The Journey ~~~~~~
Rain rain go away....
come again some other day...lol
It has rained nonstop here for 2 days....
I am thinking of going shopping for an "ARC"!!!
But, at least I can sit in my "room" and create for a bit!!
I made this "somewhat" monochromatic card for the challenge at
"The Butterfly Challenge and the NBUS challenge Darnell has
going at her blog..
I am hoping my card meets the "monochromatic" rules...
but most will let you include "neutral" colors as I did (black and white)
Quite awhile back I bought these lovely KaiserCraft papers and ephemera
and have somewhat been hoarding them, why I don't know..lol!!
I have to admit putting this card together using these was extremely fast....
however, it took me forever it seems to choose the layers I wanted to use.
 I also want to mention, be sure to sign up for my blog candy HERE....
Classy Cards 'n Such is having a DT call
Hello my "shabby" friends....
This week at "The Shabby Tea Room"  "Debbie" is our hostess
and the theme is "Party Time"!!!
Debbie has asked us to use the photo below for inspiration
and create a "Birthday" card or project using pink, green and polka dots!!!
Our sponsor this week is Digital Papers by Janet
Wait until you see what the "Shabby Girls" have come up with to inspire you....
WOW...you don't want to miss the awesome inspiration!!!!
I love the beautiful, vintage look of the digitals Janet has in her shop....
I choose a Rose print paper that I stitched onto a piece of Graphic 45 paper....
Isn't it pretty??
I used a much neglected MS punch for an edge underneath and then started building
my flowers on top.
I used various dies which I will list below.....
but check out that paper bow...I used the same digital paper ....
just love the soft, pretty look of it!!
I invite YOU to join in with the shabby girls this week.....
Make It Monday at Papertrey Ink
It is a nice hot and sunshiney day here today!
A good day to stay in and create I think!!
Okay on to today's card.....
I haven't participated in a challenge in a very long time at Papertrey Ink....
but I do subscribe to them as well as "Melissa Phillips" blog.....
and this week Melissa is hosting the challenge....
I also saw on my friend "Ros's" blog that she had done an awesome card
with the technique and last minute I decided to give it a try...
I have to admit, most of the Papertrey stamps I have weren't suited too well for this...
but I used what I had (maybe it is time to purchase a few new Papertrey stamps)!!
Items used to make this card are as follows:
Papertrey Ink Items:  simply chartreuse luxe satin ribbon and vintage buttons
                                 stamps Friendship Jar Fillers and Garden Variety
Anna Griffin Embossing Folder
Pebbles Chalk Ink
Melissa Frances Vellum Tag Pocket
~~~~Wedding Bells~~~~~

I am not suppose to be here....
I was out of town for our anniversary and had a little mishap
at our "North" house....
coming down the stairs Friday night, I "mis-stepped" and fell down
the steps, landed on a half wall and injured my ribs....
so much for us going to Mackinac Island, we packed up the car
and headed home on Saturday.....
I am better now...sore, but better and so mad at myself for screwing up our plans!!

I got up early as it is hard to get comfortable to sleep, so I put together
a wedding card.....

I kept it more simple, making it an easy "mail-able" card....
I used the GORGEOUS Cheery Lynn Designs Beautiful Bells Doily die....
I used a Sizzix Frame EB folder called Scallop Oval Lace....
I thought it was  perfect with all it's little embossed  hearts on it....
I added a few pearls and a sentiment from Heartfelt creations....

I know you can't see all the "glorious" shimmer, but the entire card is
made with SU "Shimmery White" card stock...I love this stuff!!

Cheery Lynn Designs .... Wonderful  Weddings
and
CCEE Stampers .... White

In My Garden

DESIGN TEAM CALL
at Classy Cards 'n Such
you can find all the info HERE
Hurry, it ends June 27th

Hi All....
Here is my post that is "live" today
at Classy Cards 'n Such.....
go take a peek!!

Hello Classy Friends,
Diane here with you today, and do I ever have something pretty to show you!

I remembered a technique I did a year or so ago
where you stamp an image on Heavy Weight Vellum Card Stock
using Versamark ink then emboss with a White Fine Detail Embossing Powder.

Once you have heat set your embossing powder, then you can start coloring
with a few shades of ink, starting with your lightest shade and adding darker
for a contrast.  The color is applied with a Q-tip....wiping your image with a paper towel
as you color (this step just takes the ink off the embossing only.)

The image I chose is a new "in store" stamp by Stacey Stamps called "Roses"
I used only two colors of inks on my image, as I wanted a soft look.

The sentiment is one I love, being a gardener myself.
It is a B-line Designs stamp called "My Garden of Flowers"

I finished off my card with a pretty sheer bow and a gorgeous Heart Ribbon Slide
and added a few Silver Rhinestones at the bottom!!

I hope you will give this technique a try as it is so fun.  Be sure to sign up for the
Classy Cards 'n Such newsletter and you will receive a one time 20% off your order...

Feeling A Little Bit "Krafty and Shabby Chic" Today!!

How is YOUR day going???
I am getting ready to head out tomorrow for a few days
so am trying to work on a few things before I go.....

I created these very sparke-ly Roses yesterday....
let them dry overnight and just had to use them today.....
I have to admit I am "sort of" addicted to the Cheery Lynn Designs "Gardenia Strip"....
it makes the most easy and gorgeous Roses!!!

I "built" my Roses using a SU paper and added "Tropical Tangerine" Stickles
however, I think I got a bit carried away with the Stickles...lol!!

The base of my card is "KRAFT" card stock...
which I embossed before adding all the other details!!
I used Cheery Lynn Designs Olive Branch die and Margarita Border
and a bit of lovely twill ribbon from Paper Sweeties
The papers are from Classy Cards 'n Such and are Prima Zephyr
The vintage image is from Crafty Secrets
to finish I added the little heart lock..it's a Prima, too
and a few MS mint pearls....

I am entering this in the following challenges:

and

and

Nautical

Are you all enjoying your summer (almost) weather??
I know I am, the warm temperatures sure can put me in a good mood...
(and I need all the help I can get...lol)

On the hot days I spend time looking at all the new "goodies"
there are to buy...my goodness how do they keep coming up with all
these new ideas??

I did a card for the challenge at "Joan's Touch" this week.....
it was a super quick and fun card....

and for
Darnell's blog...have you ever been there?
My goodness she is such a "hoot"....
I sometimes read her posts to my Mom as they make us both laugh....
go and take a visit there, you won't be disappointed!!

I used one of the wonderful Memory Box stencils "Stars Star Flash"
which I sponged some TH Distress inks on for my background
so very easy...have you tried these?...

My stamp is a (are you sitting down?) 1998 Stampendous ....
really, I have had it that long
and I think this might be the first time I have used it!!!
But I LOVE it...it is going to stay out for another card or 2!!

I added some MS punch anchors and then decided it was done....
drawing the attention to the stamp as the focal point....

Hello Classy Friends, Diane here with you today with my card for
this weeks challenge to use "Rub Ons or Stickers"

Beverly has a wonderful supply of both the outline sticker sheets and rub ons
I chose an outline sticker for my card called "Daffodils - Various in gold
These are also available in a silver outline if you prefer.
I have really grown a fondness for these stickers and find them very easy to use
and when finished they are stunning.

 For my outline stickers I peeled them off
(and a little hint, they are a bit static-y so if you slightly
wet them with your finger ...very slightly...they will relax and stick on perfectly)....
I stuck mine on a piece of Scor-Tape Sheet (this is like scor-tape but comes in a sheet)
then covered it with micro-fine warm white glitter.....
Once I was satisfied I had the glitter down good,
I colored on top with permanent markers
then I peeled it off and stuck it onto white card stock and hand cut around it.

I set these aside and cut an A2 size card from
Banana Split Pop Tone 100# card stock...
I covered the front of my card with paper from Prima "Zephyr"  6x6 paper stack
I used a 1 3/4" round punch and punched two circles from the front of my card....

Using Joy! Crafts Foam pads small, I "popped" up my finished sticker pieces......
Stamping my sentiment on one of the left over circle pieces, I mounted it onto my card....
The card was finished with 2 layered butterflies from "Butterfly Trio", cut in leftover
pieces from my card front and a scrap of velum and a scrap of black

I would love for you to join us for this  weeks challenge...
we would love to see YOUR creation!!
