How Are You

We are going halfway into the year and we have a new challenge
today at Word Power, the challenge where your BIG sentiments
draw the eye to them first thing, no tiny sentiments for us here!

You have heard me mention it several times, but back in 2025
at Simon Says stamps they had numerous 99cent sales
and I was lucky enough to get to be in a few of them,
mostly when I saw them they were already sold out.
That is where my Birch Press Design Jumbo Hello came from.

I used a paper from the basket of papers I am trying use up that
sits on my work desk (and there are many of them), along
with the small Spellbinders Betterpress sentiment.
The little butterfly is from my 'spare parts' box of already cut die cuts.

We would love to see your BIG sentiments at our Word Power challenge.

A Little Hello

A new challenge is starting today at WORD POWER,
the challenge where your BIG sentiments take center stage,
the kind of sentiment that catches your eye before anything else.

I used an A2 die that I received free from scrapbookdotcom
when I paced an order with them, die cut from a navy blue card stock.
The background paper is from a basket of 6x6 paper pads and
single sheets that I have on my desk to try and use up,
there must be well over 200 sheets in that basket!
The small sentiment is a Spellbinders Betterpress that I thought
worked well with the large die cut.  The butterfly came out of my
'spare parts' bin (I think it is a Sue Wilson die).

We would love to have you join us at our Word Power challenge!!

For You

It's time for our monthly challenge at Word Power, the challenge
that wants to see your BIG sentiments, no little sentiments here!
Let you sentiments be the first thing your eyes are drawn to!

I went BIG with my sentiment, using for the first time a
Spellbinders Layered Floral 'For You' stencil,
stenciled in all Altenew inks.  This card can be used for any occasion.

Let us see YOUR BIG sentiments at Word Power,
there is always a Top 3 and a Top Winner and it could be YOU!!

Thanks

A new challenge starts today at our Word Power blog,
the challenge that is all about your sentiment taking center stage,
no little sentiments here!

If you visit or follow my blog often, by now you have probably
figured out I am a buy what is on sale crafter, I just can't resist the sales.
My Spellbinders 3D THANKS embossing folder is one of my sale
items.  Sometimes during their warehouse sales the folders are $1, $2, $3
and at that price I just can't resist, I mean who could right?
I ran the folder thru my Switch a couple of times on a Core'dinations
whitewash paper and sanded to the color underneath.
I love how it makes the sentiment stand out.  I then added a few small
Katy Sue 3D flowers I had put together,  finishing it off perfectly.

So, get out those BIG words/sentiments and come join in our fun!!

Irish Blessing

It's that time again for our monthly challenge at Word Power
where we are all about letting the sentiment take center stage!
It's an anything goes challenge as long as your sentiment is
big enough to make a statement, we don't want to see
those itty bitty ones!

Being March, I decided not only to go with a St Patrick's theme
but to use a bit of my 'neglected' stuff as well.
I chose a Sparkle N Sprinkle (retired) stamp set Irish Blessings.
Though SNS is no longer with us, the stamp 'might' still be available,
the stamp was designed by Becky Muir
and I'm not sure if she is still making/selling stamps?

The image was stamped on a Tutti Designs Nested Rectangle die, then colored in with various Copic and Altenew markers.

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark then embossed
with Ranger Princess Gold EB powder.
I have a lot of gold EB powders but this one is a very fine powder.
The background paper is from an older (2018) pad of
Doodlebug 'Lot's of Luck' paper that I have a few sheets left
and am trying to use up.

A pretty simple card but sometimes simple is good, right?

You Are Loved

It's the start of a new monthly challenge today at
Word Power
the challenge where your BIG sentiments take stage,
no itty bitty little sentiments for us!

My BIG sentiment today is from Sizzix You Are Loved stamp set.
I added a few chain links of silver Dazzles
and a cute stamp from Penny Black Loads of Love
and a few pink glitter hearts from my stash.
My cute image was colored with a mix of
 Copic's and Olo alcohol markers
That's it, easy peasy!

So, get your big sentiments out and come and join us at
our Word Power challenge.
(Every time I start a sentence with SO, I think of
how my English teacher would react LOL)!!

Awesome Day

 Happy New Year!!

The new year brings us to our first Word Power challenge of the year
where we are all about making your sentiment have center stage,
not those normal small sentiments but a BIG one
that instantly draws the eye to it.

This card is nothing to write home about for sure
and is pretty simple using a few pieces of scrap papers I have
pulled from my scraps I am trying to use up.
The butterfly was sitting on my desk so I added it to the sentiment
that I die cut from a Simon die I purchased during one of their 99 cent sales.
The floral paper has bit of glittery sparkle in it so I added a few gems
to add even more sparkle.

Get your BIG sentiments out and join us over at Word Power.

All Is Calm

 Hello friends, happy December.
We are at our last Word Power challenge for this year.
We are an anything goes challenge where your SENTIMENT
takes center stage!

Last year (and probably this year too) I have been taking advantage
of the fun Spellbinders Warehouse sales.
I purchased this Betterpress sentiment for a mere $1.00
and used it in my hot foil Glimmer machine.
I love that the Betterpress dies can be used to hot foil,
makes them twice as useful!
Background paper is from the Paper Studio's Woodland Wonderland.
I added one of my homemade Spellbinders Poinsettias.

If you have some center stage sentiments we certainly would
like to see them at our Word Power challenge, come on over!!

Thankful

Hello friends, a new monthly challenge begins today at Word Power
where your sentiment takes center stage!
I was able to hit a few sales for some dies at Simon Says for 99cents
and this fun thankful die was one of them, a Simon Thankful cover Plate.
It cuts all the letters out so you can piece them back in or do as I did
and just place on your card stock.  I added a Maple Vine Frame from Tutti Designs
that was already cut out and in my die cut stash to use up.  I think IRL
you can make out the colorful leaves better then you can by this photo.
I think I need to try another one with the letters paper pieced back in.

Get out those BIG sentiments as this is the perfect
place to use them, at Word Power!!

A Good Day

Our challenge at Word Power is all about the words,
meaning we want to see BIG sentiments/words on your card!

My card is nothing to write home about, but, the great thing about it
is that I used up the LAST piece of my Doodlebug Happy Harvest 6x6
paper pad, well, I do have scraps of it left but for the most part the actual
pad is gone.  This makes me so happy as I have a basket on my desk with
pads of paper in it that have 3 or 4 sheets left I am trying to use up, there are 34 of them
so to have one gone is exciting!

I used die cuts from Cheery Lynn Designs and Sizzix
to stamp my big
Hero Arts Handwritten Affirmations Sentiment on.

We would love to see your BIG sentiments at Word Power!!

A Little Note

Just A little note to say HELLO, a big hello I might say
which fits in perfectly for our challenge at
WORD POWER
where your sentiments are the center stage or focal of your card!

I used a great sentiment from Concord & 9th's Picked Posie Greetings stamp set.
The butterfly is a die that I purchased during one of Simon Says 99 cent sales.
It is Shimmer Butterfly.  I used some Apple Green Nuvo for the center of the flowers.
The sentiment was  stamped with Dew Drop Rich Cocoa ink. A paper scrap was added
under the die cut butterfly.

We would love to have you join us at Word Power
where your sentiment says it all!

You're A Gem

It's time for a new challenge at Word Power
where your sentiments/words take center stage.
We are an anything goes challenge but just make sure
your words are the focus.

I am still trying to dwindle down my 6x6 pads of paper pads that have
just  2 or 3 papers left in each and that is where this paper is from.
It's My Mind's Eye On Trend.
The embossing folder is Lifetime Crafts Woven.
The sentiment is one I received free with a scrapbook dot com order
and is a  Spellbinders die.

Thanks for visiting, you're a gem!!

A Big Happy Birthday

Our Word Power challenge is starting today
where our challenge is all about your BIG sentiments or words
and are pretty much the center of your card.

I have to say I have had much bigger sentiments then this one I am showing today
but I think it is big enough to work as when I look at my card
it is the first thing I see, which is what we are going for.
The sentiment is from the Sizzix set Hello Sunshine.
The papers used are Echo Park Bee Happy.  The fuzzy bee is also a Sizzix,
a free set from a scrapbookdotcom order.  The oval is a Cottage Cutz die
and the flowers came from my container of already made flowers using a
Concord & 9th Picked Posies  die.

So, get out those BIG sentiments and come and have some fun with us at our
Word Power challenge.

Word Power June 2025

Hello friends, today is our new challenge at Word Power
where our challenge is all about those BIG words or sentiments,
-they should be the FOCUS or eye drawing element on your card.

For my card I used a big Happy Birthday sentiment by Sizzix, the flowers are part
of the die set.  I die cut a Waffle Lacy Layer for the base, then used a stitched
oval from my 'spare parts' bin.
That's it, an easy peasy card for a birthday!

Get those big words or sentiments out and come and join us for some Word Power!

A Giant Thank You

Hello friends, time for our Word Power challenge
where we are all about sentiments taking center stage!
It's an anything goes challenge as long as we can see your big sentiments!

I used a Spellbinders hot foil die 'A Giant Thank You' for my card
purchased at one of their fabulous warehouse sales and a
Petal Pink Iridescent Foil.
I foiled it on a Spellbinders Essential Floral Reflection die.
The background paper is My Favorite Things Petite Plaids
die cut with a Waffle Flower Lacy Layers die.
A handmade Spellbinders Bold Blooms flower was added.

Sound like a fun challenge (?), then come on over and
have some BIG sentiment fun with us at Word Power?

Word Power April 2025

Hello friends, I'm back again with another card for our monthly challenge at
Word Power where our challenge is all about letting your sentiments
take center stage!  When Spellbinders have their warehouse sales I
always try to take advantage of them as they are just too good to pass up!
This is where the die came from for my big Thank You.
It is a Betterpress Thank You Very Much plate, on sale at that time for $1.00.
It is a two step plate and very easy to do as it comes with a template
for easy line-up.  The small doily behind was from my already
pre-cut stash of die cuts, but it is a Cheapo Doily die from when I used to
work for Cheapo dies.  The butterfly paper is Brutus Monroe .

Come on over to our challenge and join us for some
Word Power fun!!

Word Power March 2025

Hello friends, we are into March already and it excites me
as it means Spring is just around the corner and I am so ready!
It also brings us to a new monthly challenge at Word Power
where your 'words' take center stage!!

We are an anything goes challenge with no themes,
we just want to see those BIG words or sentiments!

For my card I did a simple St Patrick's Day card!
I used Doodlebug lot's of luck for my main paper,
a die cut circle with a Cheapo die word 'LUCKY'
that I also cut in black for a slight shadow!
I thought about adding some bling but decided to
keep it 'mailable' friendly!

Come on over and join us at Word Power,
it's a great place to show off those BIG words and/or sentiments!

Word Power Challenge February 2025

Hello friends, we are back this month with our
WORD POWER challenge,
the challenge where your words take center stage!

Do you have large/big words and are not sure what to do with them?
Then get them out and use them for our challenge, it's really pretty easy!
There is no theme so any large sentiments/words will do!

For my card, being February I pulled out some of my Penny Black
dies and stamps.  I die cut the word LOVE twice and stacked one on the other.
The stamp is from PB Loads of Love, a set I got free by winning a
gift certificate to 123Sttich  from the Penny Black challenge!
The eyelet trim across the top was created using an old SU punch,
this is the first time I have used my much neglected punch in years!
The background paper is from one of my newest pads,
Crafter's Companion Love Is In The Air.

So, grab those big words and come on over to
Word Power and join in the fun!

Word Power January 2025

Hello Friends, to start off the New Year we have our challenge at
Word Power
that is all about having your WORDS take center stage
on your card, allowing you to use those BIG sentiments we all have!

I started with a paper from an old (2013) Martha Stewart paper pack
I am trying to use up and die cut it with a Tutti Designs Stitched Postage die.

My Dotted Circle is also a Tutti Designs and the bird and branches are
from Memory Box (I think)!

I misplaced the name of the sentiment but I believe it is
a Tonic die.

We would love to have you join us at Word Power with your
BIG sentiments!!

Word Power #12

It will be a complete year after this month that
our Word Power challenge has been going strong,
so how do you like it?  Are you having fun with it?
I know I am as it gives us another opportunity to use
more of my probably very neglected supplies!!
Our challenge is always anything goes as long as
your sentiment takes center stage!!

For my card today I used a die that I have only used once before.
It's a Memory Box 'Have A Holly Jolly Christmas' (2014).....
what does that tell you, I never get rid of anything, in fact when I hear of people 'purging' their supplies it makes me cringe,
I am a keeper of ALL lol!
I think the first and the last time I used it I made it into a
shaker card but this time I just die cut it and let it take center stage
for our challenge!  It was die cut from a Tonic silver metallic paper
and placed on a Mintay starry paper, not much more to say about it
but it will be an easy mailer and with the price of postage
going up and up, that is okay with me.

Come on over to Word Power and join in with us,
have a Holly Jolly Christmas yourself!!
